- Hey guys in this video we put head to head a 2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost with a 10 Speed Auto against a 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost with a 6 speed auto.
Both cars were stock for the first race, and then the 2015 Uploaded a Unleashed Tune.

Do you have mods planned for it or you’re going to keep it Stock?
Drag mode doesn’t work for roll racing, what u want to use is track mode, I’ve done plenty of different runs in both
With the new A10, 7th is your 1:1 ratio gear while 8th, 9th and 10th gears are basically overdrive and should only be used if you're cruising and want to improve mpg.
So do a pull on 7th gear bro ? I just got one
In the roll race, u would accelerate much faster in track mode then drag mode since drag mode is meant to be used from a stand still, not a roll.

The 10r80 works best for roll racing if you turn advance track of the manually shift basically eliminates hesitation to switch gears

I love every thing about this car, just the sound, I hope they bring the V6 back some day when I can afford to buy a newer model, I have the 2014 3.7 and it hasn’t let me down, and the gas mileage ain’t bad at all either

What’s your combined MPG on normal driving?
Lol normal driving it was like 23 mpg when I first got it and I live in northwest Houston near 290, a lot of traffic, but I drive crazy now so it’s 17.3 mpg, it ain’t so bad though 😂
But when I feel like driving normally it tends to go to the lower 20s
Driving on highways or road trips it can go up to 27 depending on how much is in the car, but u can’t be heavy footed

I knew they were faster but damn it completely blows the 15-17 models away (stock to stock)

Great video. Love the A10s. Drag mode is essentially a different tune than stock so I liked how you let the 15 put a pump gas tune on the car. Great comparison.

Considering horsepower differences, I can't imagine it'd be even. 18's make more power stock

It will also depend if coupe or convertible as the latter doesn’t get the 350 lb/ft. It will depend on driver significantly. Both still make 310 hp. Manual requires more skill.

Just like the look not buying for drag race. My bmw 535i has the same horse, didn’t get the M still enjoy the ride.

If you get a 101A package, it comes with the different modes. It's a $2k package but is well worth the cost because of all the extras they give you.

viewswithjason based on this vid, when both cars were in normal mode (the base model has no driving modes), the 2015 had slight lead over the 2018. Once the 2018 was in drag mode it had the lead.
I have a 2016 non PP and base model. Honestly, I cant complaint I like it. As long as you run 93 oct youll have fun.
If you NEED leather seats and a bigger screen, and want the drive modes, then by all means you should go for the premium 2015. Also, it appears that drag mode on 2018 is quicker than track mode on 2015, but youd need the premium 2018.

from what Ive come across is that those 2015s manufactured in Spain are the ones that tend to blow...

The 2015 Performance Pack is a better value because it has more bell and whistles and especially if you’re planning on modifying later on, the performance pack will be the better choice

Short shifting the 10 speed is more ideal with the 2.3L.
I have tested both... they feel the same & both are fun to me... though 10 is way much for the paddle shift I like to do ( I’m done with clutches. Too old lol) 10 is a joint with trans made with GM so, I would prefer 6 until it gets a few years in. My last gm trans on my ‘16 Camaro was junk. My 6 in my 14 F150 is perfect to me. I think the same way, those trans are too new, we need a couple or more years of usage to see how it handles before diving into one.
Dayna has been around a long time in different configurations. Ford did most of the R&D on this trans and first production 10 speed Auto, if you do a little research on Ford site they match this trans to the motor it’s bolted to, its an awesome trans.

@@ElvisCarReviews just a comment from a fellow 2018 EB stang owner. If you feel you run out of puff at the top, use the paddles to short shift to get into the grunt of the torque i.e. try shift at 5500 from like 5th. You can literally micro manage your cars power with this box.

The 2018 has 30 more torque, the tune on the 2015 probably brings up close to that and maybe a little more so I’m curious as to how much the transmission makes a difference. I’m thinking if you tune the 2018 it would demolish it. Don’t even bother doing a manual, can’t compete with the 10-speed.
The 2018 tranny shifts on a dime compared to the pre 18 tranny. It’s known as a bulletproof trans since it’s also used on the F-150/ GT/ ect. I’m sure there would have been a bigger difference if their was skilled drivers behind the wheels of the mustangs, not trying to throw shade at the drivers but it’s true aha.

I have a 16 convertible. Staying out of boost is the only way to get advertised mileage. That being said, I took it from MO to FL this summer and averaged right at 30. Low to mid 20's for daily driving is about normal.
I average 14.6 MPG on mine lol
