Torf is a fucking monster, dude rips on the records and live.
Been waiting ages for this. One of the sickest pop-punk drummers ever.
Have you ever heard about brian lada? Belmont's drummer
Travis barker just called...
Him and Dani from Neck Deep are two of the best drummers in pop punk
Dude yes. Such Gold's drummer is insane as well.
trash boat's drummer is insane too
Drummer from in her own words (Omar) I think
I agree with all of you but what about mike Kennedy. especially live that man kills it
Mike Ambrose of Set Your Goals is pretty good too!
Mind-boggling to see people hating on Torf, man. Best drummer in the genre and really humble guy. You jelly?
Facts. I've been trying to learn this song for a while and he is doing some pretty advanced stuff in this song
Lmfao Dani Washington is so much better than this guy. Yikes
@@leonardodibigcappinbro2269 Not only did that band rip off TSSF on their first record, they only managed to have one decent album in their lifetime. Yikes
@@leonardodibigcappinbro2269 yikes what? yeah neck deep is somewhat good in general but come on dani is better than torf? hell nahhh
1:35 - 1:55
Great vid many interesting fills and beats thanks for upoading keep it up!!
Nice simple kit expressing amazing drumming. 👌🏼
Gosh darn inspirational .
Still . Even out of highschool an on my way to being 30 .
So sick. Hope to see more from this set!
Def more coming! If you haven't subscribed yet, make sure to! :)
love this song. has a nice kick to it
Brilliant work, both from the drummer and you. I love these footages :-)))
Dudes a fucking legend as a drummer!
Dude is ripped
True, but I'm not even in this video
+cayeminterviews Hahaha
Love the way he writes, but his technique makes it look like he forgot how to play the song and he's just kind of making it up as he goes haha.
His technique during the bridge after the second chorus is awesome, dunno what the rest of it is though :P
hahaha this is so true
It's not set up the way he wants it, his drums aren't coming through his monitors loud enough so he feels like he has to rimshot his snare every time, but you'll notice it's tilted forward too far for consistent comfortable rimshots, his kick technique is over exaggerated because he's trying to hit the drums too hard because (again, the drums aren't loud enough in his ears). His arms are flailing around with huge stick heights to try and hit everything as hard as possible. And with huge stick heights like that, it's really hard to be accurate on fills.
He played the part exactly like the record, he just missed shit because of all the above.
Yeah just seems like he's over thinking all the fills.
He’s high af leave him alone 😂
did anyone notice that parker forgot the lyrics at the second chorus?
Nice drum shuffle!
dat boi cleaaaaan!
sick
Woah a drummer wearing pants while he plays.
Hahahahahahahaahahahaha
I hate wearing shorts when I play. I don't know why but I find them distracting lol. I always wear sweatpants or tapered pants. Never jeans.
Awesome drumming on an awesome song!
The groove in the bridge takes some coordination!
He sits on the very edge of the throne. So tight under pressure not an easy feat. Fuck the haters Ryan.
creative
bruh, that shit looked like magic.
i seen them live boy do they deliver it was a wild concert
Anyone know what snare he's playing?
Hi.
Welcome to good burger. Home of the good burger. Can I take your order???
His right hand is shot in this video you can tell.
everyone talks shit about this man, he's just a SOLID PERSON and SOLID DRUMMER in general. For fuck sakes.
Need more. Film more. TSSF. Pleeeease 🙏🏻
GOAT
Nah.
+MrCJduo maybe not, but definitely one of the better drummers in the pop punk/pop rock world. very few i can think of who are better
Awesome drummer, awesome arms. 10/10
0.20
Great fkin drummer. The chorus and 2nd verse, he does more like an off beat, hip hop bass drum.thats the shit that really takes some skill
rip rimshot
he looks uncomfortable on his setup
Irie Islo he definitely isn't comfortable. He does a lot of unnecessary moving
It's the way he hits the ride during the chorus that makes it look weird
jords his snare angle is the main cause. one of the least ergonomically pleasing setups i’ve ever seen.
yeah, that snare is almost falling down. By the otherside the way he rides the bell in the bridge shows up that he's got still some wrist...
He doesn't seem to be having a problem. People learn instruments different if not instructed to change, i.e. why we have legendaru guitarists that learned upside down, etc
best drummer in pop punk, no contest
Dani Washington is better
Check out a knuckle puck drum cam cause that guy is up there
He hits cymbals like he doesn't want to wake them up. love it.
Tyler Maxey huh? he’s wailing those things
His floor Tom head looks very loose.
Ryan Torf is probably the most inventive drummer, in terms of what to play, in modern rock in my eyes.
Listen to animals as leaders
0:20
0:18
does he use a single or double pedal?
+Charlie Drake I've only seen him use single
+Charlie Drake pretty sure always single.
Single!
Dude his technique is pretty sweet, I wonder if he's self-taught or not, anyone know?
his technique says yes but his drum beats say no
he's definitely self taught and his "beats" aren't anything that's crazy different from pop punk
@@brette6854 i see you're a fan of neck deep eh? you should thank the man torf and the bois cuz neck deep is influenced by them back on their roots and their only best work imo
camera guy can't help but groove while filming
1:20 did Parker fucked up?
+Nachosk17 Yeah skipped a line, got back into it nicely though
Dont think i'll ever understand whats going on between 1:35 - 1:55
Neither do I
Peter Juskalian really? literally just playing the bell on every +(and) hitting the snare on the e of 2. L M A O.
the best punk drummer after travis in punk today. sick
He looks so uncomfortable playing drums :D Like his chair is too high or something. But awesome playing tho
yea it does kinda look like he has to put too much motion into his leg to get his bass drum
Nah, cause his doing doubles while using a single pedal.
you still don't need to move like that when you're doing doubles...
Torf ain't nothing to fuck wit
lol no he is not sloppy. That's exactly how the song should be played. Exactly how he wrote it. There's just a little difference between this performance and the original when it comes to the kick on choruses.
Looks so awkward
Kinda sloppy.
drivehomecarefully like you can do any better
He's so sloppy
i hate his style
how is anyone impressed by this. i love TSSF but it looks like its his first time behind a kit wtf actually is this
shut the fuck up when you obviously don't know the first thing about drumming lmfao
Go listen to Belmont and Neck Deep little boy.
I've been playing drums for about 18 years. I'm impressed by this because it is actually quite a creative way to go about pop punk. It's a lot easier to shoot it down because of how stiff he looks playing it but that can be explained by any number of reasons that might be beyond his control. In terms of songwriting and technical ability, he is very much proficient for the genre. That bridge says it all. He is really appreciated in the drumming world for good reason.
Just listen to the writing bro. His posture or playing may look weird or awkward but I think that is how he plays, no need to adjust his playing style just for him to look great.
Sloppy
