I like your pre filter setting on the top of the water heater.

Thanks, it was useful especially when I was patching/sanding some rough areas of my garage and forgot to cover the water heater first.

@@danklankin3887 I have a 65 gal Rheem Hybrid. A 10X20X1 filter fits pretty good when held down with some duct tape. Over the last month lots of sawdust & dust from construction has made it time to change the filter. The factor plastic filter is still clean as a whistle. Thanks again for the tip!

@@wahapete8769 I check the reusable filter once a month but it's never dirty. Have a great day.

I thought you only needed an 18 inch pedestal for gas water heaters with a pilot light.

The code is 18". The reason is that the lower electric element could spark when energized. A spark at that height could ignite gasoline vapors that are trapped in the garage from a gas can or car gasoline leak.

The lower electric element is inside the water heater which does not emit a spark. You do need the stand per code.

      Not!

Awesome video! i do have a question. I'm not a plumber but is your cold water input line tied into your hot water output line?

It's not but I can see why you would say that. The 90 degree fitting is black and matches the insulated hot water out line when looking at the top of the water heater.

The stand is only if your eater heater is in garage with no fire wall abd us gas or propane. The pan is doing you no good if you don't run the drain for it into floor drain.

How is the noise level when the compressor is on?

It's not loud but I can hear it at night since my bedroom is above the garage after I take a shower. Make sure you use PEX. If you run copper it will be much louder. I got a $600 federal tax credit for installing it too.
