    Broke my humerus bone at 51, (was doing a roll in on 7’ shallow end of the big bowl at my local) now at 52 I’m riding transition consistently again and prognosis is great for full recovery. The shoulder mobility was positively impacted by riding bowls and pump tracks especially in switch stance.

    If you are wanting to learn how to roll in, then hanging up your back truck will likely result in a fall like you have. Rolling in is closer to a mini manual until your back truck is off then you lean forward. I felt that bail in my soul and I have done several of those learning to roll in myself.

      It looks like you were trying to rock in rather than roll in. Not sure which is more difficult. Your slams are no joke.
      If you wanted to work into roll ins you can do a grind first from the deck and then roll in. Starting on smaller transition is a good idea as well.

    Hey man rolling in over coping is really hard. I’ve been skating for almost 39 years and I really don’t fool with it any more. It’s a good way to get a separated shoulder. If you want a safer way to get over coping after getting up on the deck try learning roll on 50 50’s. BTW the gym mat is really a great way to go to the hospital. Eventually it will pull the board out from under you and cause a gnarly slam. Of course you are allowed to do what ever you want. I suggest watching Skateboard Lessons with JB’s roll in video before you try these again. If you don’t bonk the wheels it isn’t a roll in it’s a Hang Up and at our age it’s a broken bone waiting to happen.

    Wow, I really hope your ok! Felt that second slam, had many of those and all the weight on side like that sometimes knocks the wind out of me. Huge props though, you got back up and kept skating. Roll ins are tricky, I learned the way you where trying them, slowly stalling on the coping but using the nose to lift the back truck over. Then eventually adding a little speed to pop the back truck over with no stall or nose lift, if that makes sense. One things for sure though the roll in comes with the small price tag of a full body slam from time to time.

    When you next go for it, you should practice rolling up and out of the ramp again but try and do a nose manual even if just for a second and lift the tail up in one smooth motion. so your wheels dont hit the coping. Because thats basically what you have to do rolling down except you definitely wanna put the back wheels back down as soon as you get over the coping with them. Also I noticed on your first attempt that your front foot is too far back to be able to do this nose manual so you have to have it more forward. The one you got close on where you ran into the mat was close but your wheels still hit the coping and you want to avoid that since it'll startle you.

    omg lmao the one where you hit the mat and slammed after vaulting over the mat was funny as hell. you couldnt have been funnier if you tried. going up on top of the deck and stalling in the 50. im having the hardest time with that. thats why i thought you would be ready to get a 50 50 grind. is that coping rusty or sticky for some other reason?

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion

    very nice axle drop ins! And couple of hard slams... remains me of me too :) I think rolling in looked very good, even with the slams... there was one video that told that, treat rolling ins as they would be just rolling of the ledges, same way. Just hop into to emptiness, I guess normal standing position, a little Ollie maybe and after that just tilt your shoulder a bit into the transition...easy :) (ok, haven't tried that yet)....maybe a same kind of tip, than this "when you drop in into a 4' vert, one your trip down, vertical drop, remember to push your feet againts the vertical wall....yeah really this is a easy to execute anyways very good and early- bird video again from you!

  • @CavemanVanDweller
    @CavemanVanDweller 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Your entire approach is wrong. You're supposed to lift the front truck and speed bump the back truck off the coping and land close to the flat in order to maximize speed into the next obstacle. If that makes sense? And like everything else, if you do it correctly once your brains just shit out all the previous fear and you unlock a new accomplishment 😉 you got the skills and perseverance, now just do it already!!! And wheels under 56 hang up on coping more.

    • @Steves_SkateXplosion
      @Steves_SkateXplosion  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @CavemanVanDweller 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Steves_SkateXplosion 58 is perfect, I was thinking that maybe if you were rolling in with bearing cover sizes it would explain why you couldn't monster truck over the coping? And I know it's not comfortable but you also stand up instead of squat with your butt out for a lower sense of balance. It's all scary, that's why you have done what not everyone can accomplish anything you have been achieving. 👍👍
