That is NOT a Tacoma, WHY DID I SAY THAT!? 😂
Thanks for having me back guys!!! Such a fun episode!
Haha, I'm over here like wait, I think that's a frontier LOL.
I like your smile Tasha. :)
And it wasn't a cv axle it popped the bead of the tire.
Didn't even notice.. 😍
“Ah, a Tacoma!” 😂😂😂 I lost it.
Southerner here - that red clay mud is some nasty stuff. People don't realize how much of a difference the type of mud makes until they get absolutely glued into it.
It’s sticky and slippery when wet. It will stick to everything under the vehicle and tires will slip on them, especially if the tires are coated in this stuff. When dry, your vehicle will be red and the local coin operated car wash will hate you for using their bay.
yeah totally, just like the video said.
I have dealt with Carolina and Alabama clay. Yes, it is a whole new level of evil. That being said, alkalai clay tends to be a little nastier.
Red clay, wet = glue, dry = concrete
Alkalai clay, wet = glue soup, dry = talcum powder
Like that ol river mud/sand
Two worst kinds of mud: 1) clay, which just sticks to everything and sucks you in 2) AZ desert mud, which is slick as snot and you'll need 4wd to get out of a 1" puddle on level ground
I bet Natasha enjoys helping people that get stuck offroad and leaving them in shock.
"A girl with a ring in her nose just pulled my broken CV so i could drive home on the rear axle. I don't even know what a CV is, let alone how to pull one."
12:52 They are talking about the cv axle breaking, but in this video, the tire definitely blew, you can see the rim continue to spin until he lets off the gas and the tread is loose.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed this too! You can even see the rim turn inside a different direction than the spinning tread around it. It almost looks like the tire just popped the bead from the rim.
"Do you think they're all friends still?"
*Processing pause*
"Yes..."
lmao
I was an FCA master tech for a decade. I still remember someone came in complaining that their brand new Rubi wouldn't shift into 4H or 4L WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. I was just like, why are you trying to activate your transfer case at 70 MPH?! That's not how this works!
Dunno. I find that to be a nice feature in my '07 Ram. As for why? Sudden downpours, or going down muddy dirt roads that are just off of paved roads. Engaging 4H while driving is super convenient.
@Vykk_Draygo You need to re-read iheartninja's comment, my friend. You're describing what 4H is for. He is describing what it absolutely is not for!
@@keo528528 I'm glad you at least understand what I'm getting at lol.
I mean, I have absolutely nothing against people who drive trucks and SUV's. But there's something about the average consumer of SUV's (soccer moms and the small business executive) who fail to S or U in those Vs that make me just want to rear end them. Like you do you, but if you're going into your down town office job in a jacked up Bronco that NEVER sees a speck of dirt besides when there's road construction going on.......that's not the status symbol you need because that, for me, is screaming, "I have no clue what I'm doing but I'm going to be an a*shole about it anyways!!!" There's no "gate-keeping" for those vehicles, but the fact that discretion and common sense flees in the presence of some people as they get vehicles with more functions than they know what to do with and complain that when they pulled the 4H lever to 4L, they didn't go faster and they're wondering where settings 1A-4G and 4I-4K went. Like there's that level of dumb on the roads and there's no one really stopping them and that's frightening.
@@keo528528 Yeah, I read it. I've flipped 4H on while on the interstate during storms (perhaps not at 70, but that's because I'm not suicidal, and I slow down when it's pouring 😂). I understand what the OP was saying, just offering another perspective as to why you might want to do this (as well as an example that an FCA tech would be familiar with).
So, again, it's nice to be able to flip it on at speed. My wife just got a '24 Wrangler 2-door, and that's probably the only thing she dislikes - not being able to switch into 4H while driving. 🤷♂
Huge fan of Natasha. Very credible, good energy.
Ridiculous septum piercing.
@@Okurka. It got you rustled enough to whine about it, so it's worth it. Touch grass
She's funny
I bet it’s grippy.
Agreed. She’s hilarious too
That look when Justin heard "you can't run" LOL
shes cute except for those stupid nose rings
Their banter had be cracked up.
The daggers he was throwing!!!
For anyone asking about the 4runner, everything but the body panels were fine. we got it running (it was a 5vz swap) and its now living its best life as a Toyota pickup. Sadly i did have to sell it for something more practical, but im glad its still kicking.
He looks in love with that girl 😂❤
I know right 😂😊
@@peptek69can’t blame him lol
I was like "she looks happy" amd then I was like "he's happy looking at her" hehe
@@600mikey Agreed. Would!

Dude who else loves Zach? He needs to be a regular!
especially with the sass he gave Justin!
Yeah, I like him better than the other off-road guy they had.
@@kuebbythe one with the TH-cam channel? That guys chill!
something about him is very inviting.
I'm positive he is a regular by now
"it was only waist high on the duck"
the pickup owner. probably.
"I don't know him but I'll buy that for 500 bucks"
Natasha just cooked in here 🤣
3:31 bro really missed the opportunity to say “ejecto springo cuh”
You could see the gears turning but nothing except smoke coming out.
Natasha's last point about testing what your vehicle can do before you actually get down to it is so helpful. Back when I was still doing fieldwork and training people on off-roading in whatever cheapo secondhand pickup the company could find, my first lesson was always "if you need to switch to a different gear to GET there, you need to rethink your approach."
We spent so much time out in the Middle of Nowhere, North Dakota that getting stuck wasn't an option. No room in the budget to call an off-road wrecker, so think long and hard about route access before trying to put a truck down that road that crosses a stream and goes around a blind corner.
I did some ND/SD work in remote area. The guy I was with had truck repairs *using POV* at least monthly. I used a car. Can’t think of a trail caused issue. I was not afraid to walk. Often lane owner would offer to drive. They KNOW the roads, ways in, permission from neighbors to drive thru. *we paid our own repairs, towing*
My favorite is on an ATV, where in deep puddles like here in these videos, you can turn an ATV into the world’s most unstable jet ski.
lil boy jimmy has a lil crush crush!!👀
It’d be difficult not to. She’s pretty awesome.
what if he doesnt at all though lol, everyone is just assuming hes attracted to her. she doesnt do anything for me, seems like a nice lady though.
I cried watching that 4runner roll. I had an 87 just like it. Miss her every day😢
Same, I had an 86. Good example of how effective the roll bar is though.
Same had one with a supra motor in it.
Love the chemistry with all the hosts and guests on this one! It's probably my favorite episode so far
"Know what your truck is capable of", that remark reminded me of a time I was out for a rip in my '89 Jeep Comanche and I sunk into a rut right by three guys fishing, two of the guys jeered like "oh your lifted Jeep got stuck" or "maybe get (some other car maker) next time!".
The other dude just said "It's not even in 4X4." and he was right, I only use 4X4 when I get stuck, low gear when pulling or hill climbing, I also have a "posidrive" which allows me to lock the front differential from the cab.
It was an amazing truck, but I had to sell it through tough times. Thankfully, I've gotten another one, an '86 this time. But get this, the posidrive from my old truck was installed in this one! I know because in my first truck it was installed free hanging and would flop around, so I fabricobbled a bracket together and mounted it, and my new truck has the same fabricobbled bracket!
CV as a fuse is the best analogy ever. Nice. I'm stealing that
Jimmy and Natasha's chemistry is contagious
Unspoken rizz.
sitting in a tree...
They're adorable.
Angelina and Sandro are the GOATs still though
He's a smitten kitten
In the Army we called this type of mud, shit mud because it stuck to EVERYTHING. Iraq during the raining season was the worst.
😂 Rainy season? and what an original name for wet sand..🤣
Anyone who thinks Iraq is nothing but Sand didn't see much of Iraq. Only place I ever saw mud falling from the sky.
@@Alibifire For Sure no one told us about the winter there and that it rains from about November to until about March
@@mjmiller2008 Yes it rains in the winter time. Its called Shit mud because it is sticky like it adds what feel an extra 10 lbs to my boots. As it dried it would come off in chunks. Look and felt like what I think shit would.
@@Alibifirewas that because of americans bombing those civilians?
14:59 Natasha's response to that Land Cruiser going for a swim! That was genuinely beautiful.
Glad to see Natasha again in the channel! And also, Zach’s a real one! 💪🏼 Y’all should bring both of them back more!
Perfect I was bored at work checking for a new episode literally 5 minutes ago.
Define bored. I work 10 hour days in Bethel AK two weeks on, two weeks off, and usually only have an average of one day's worth of work per week. That's 60 hours of nothing to do, and I am required to be at the hangar the entire time. Hopefully we get the longer inspections this shift, my rotation has had me missing them these last few shifts
@@t.mendous7922 this dude don't work hard that's for sure. must be nice to watch youtube at work lol
@t.mendous7922 I sit at a desk all day taking customer support calls for agricultural equipment. Lemme tell ya. It's fucking dead so I'm just sitting here with my thumb up my ass
"I don't know why you'd buy a wrangler and never take it offroad."
My parents just bought one. Apparently they're one of very few 4x4's that can be towed without disconnecting a major part of the power train. So if you, say, are towing your vehicle behind an RV, you can have that Jeep available by just disconnecting a few straps and wires.
so why get a 4 wheel drive then? That completely ignores the question. Just tow an economy car.
Seeing that 4runner rolling down the hill was so sad
That one hurt to watch
Feeling it was sad too 😢
19:25 Jimmy is adorable he tried going for a handshake but bailed last second 😂
?????
😯
no he didnt?
@@ganjalfcreamcorn8438 then why did he shift his body like that for seemingly no reason
"Never go wheeling alone."
Yeah, have your buddies park at the bottom of the hill and video while you lose control and come crashing into both of their rigs!
Ring... ring... "Hello? Recovery people? Yeah, we need three wrecked rigs hauled down from the icy, snowy mountain." 😂
I don't tow anything often, but I do regularly work with a forklift.
Whenever there's a lot of energy involved, either by pulling something or having something heavy high up, nobody should be anywhere in the area where things could possibly come flying.
I don't know much about offroading but this guy explains it so well ty for giving him the time to explain things! Love yall
*Great* video, really enjoyed it. Zach and Natasha are both awesome. Learned a lot, and had fun doing it.
That Red Wrangler, second from last clip, looked like guy/gal got throttle stuck at full blast.
yeah, that wasn’t just mashing on the brakes. that was full tilt boogie downhill!
Or couldn't see from the snow and thought they were still fighting uphill, only to be stopped by totaling out both buddies Jeeps. That would suck bringing 2 other friends and then totaling all 3 vehicles and then have to find a way out.
Yeah looked like some whisky throttle or maybe butterfly stuck open?
Absolutely love the Real Mechanic Stuff Videos! Some of my favourite of TH-cam Car Content by now!
Here a Suggestions for a Future Video of Mechanics React: React to "Nürburgring Touristenfahrten" Mishaps / Mechanical Issues / Crashes"
The "Touristenfahrten" is each Weekend here at the Nürburgring in Germany where everyone with whatever can race on it and there are quite a few Channels (who don't mind you reacting to their Footage as long as you mention the Source) who film these since about 2014 every Weekend.
There are still to this Day so many weird Stuff happening to Cars in these Videos i still wonder what the Hell happened, so it would be interesting to see Mechanics react to them and try figuring it out. "Auto Addiction" and "statesidesupercars" are the 2 biggest ones filming each weekend.
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
A lot of great info in this video, as an off-roader, I appreciate it

0:14 A Twin I-Beam Ford front end on a FSJ???! BLASPHEMY!
Yup! That's us, it has an LS also!

That’s what I was thinking. Even if it has a Dana 30, which I’m not sure they ever had, that’s still strong than the Ford twin I-beam.
Yeah it's a TTB and has an LS as well.
@@michaelhite1433you should probably look into what the buggy boys are building these days. Twin I beam is very capable if built correctly
These two were great. Bring 'em on back
aussie here! loving these beginner videos. thats who we were 20 years ago.

its a sport ! kudos for usa for giving it ago
Fantastic to have Natasha back ❤️🔥
Gross
Love working for myself.I saw the videos Uploaded and I was like yeah i'm gonna take a break
15:10 Also take note of the way he is turning the steering wheel left and right slightly. This can really help to keep traction in deep submerged rutted tracks. It makes use of the sidewalls of the tyres against the walls of the ruts, as well as helping find high ground when the vehicle becomes more and more buoyant as the depth increases.
I love Natasha's energy man, she's so funny
Natasha is so funny and smart
FINALLY, NATASHA NI THE HOUSE!
CRINGE
I just started off-roading and these tips are great as a newbie! Already searching for my next trail
Just keep in mind that there are different aspects to going off road, from rock crawling to overlanding. Don't get caught up in the marketing, but let your use define your build over time. Listen, read and watch others whenever possible.
I could watch one of these videos every day.
Was totally not refreshing the channel page over and over again waiting for the video
Same bro gotta watch this before work
I saw nothing. You're good
Totally not sad.

Natasha is cool, more offroad stuff plz.
Natasha is awesome! Started following her channel after seeing her on RMS. She does some pretty cool builds!
Zach extremely informative great guest!
I had my stock Liberty in a puddle halfway up the doors. I kept the Walmart AT's spinning and feeling the rocks. Eventually I got enough grip to get out. Some logging roads have not seen vehicles in decades.
And yet, even though they haven't been used in decades, the landowner will get pissed and put a gate there for "rutting up my roads". Happens in Northern Maine all the time. Now there are entire regions closed off to hunters because out of state landowners that don't even use the land blocked everything off and posted what was never posted for centuries.
@@DeadBaron The old road is normally used by ATVs to get to a good fishing spot on the St Croix, just north of the stud mill in Baileyville. When I was a kid, Trucks used it. Its still owned by the current owners of the mill.

As a ranch hand in Oklahoma, I know a thing or two about red clay. I learned how to 4x4 out of necessity. But it's still fun when you come crawling out of it!🤠
You all rock! Appreciate every bit of content! Also I a lil bit am falling in love with Natasha!
I appreciate y'all bringing in the automotive women. Love seeing the ladies with more dude cred than the average dude bro. 😅
Growing up in phelan dirt roads rocks huge mud puddles are just part of leaving the house I guess you could call me an expert because I can out drive a lot of these guys with my 2 Wheel tundra
Used to make so many jacked up 4x4s mad in my 2wd 88 S10 with a 327 and co-op mudders on the rear when I was a teen. Made a few guys with "fast" cars mad also with grippy rear tires.
I like how they described a blown CV when it was the tyre blowing out... 😂
I've only seen Zach do cameos not thinking much more than he was "some dude." I'm pleasantly surprised though. He's quite level headed and knowledgeable. Seems like a good buddy to have!
Super early. This ain’t never happened before lol. Time to enjoy my lunch break
Overlanding Experts???
I love how the first clip goes from half hearted and fun to; you need to bring equipment to survive on your own for a while 😂😂
This was a great episode
The Taco at 12:45, did it actually break the CV axle, or just popped the bead on the tire? I watched it at .25 speed and all I can see is a puff of air come out and the tire go flat.
I was wondering about that myself. Maybe the bead popping eased enough of the pressure on the CV, so it didn’t break?
it was a Nissan Frontier
According the original Instagram post is blew a bead and a CV and took out a break line
What makes them experts?
I do🤷♂️😅
Just joking but most of it seems legit what they are saying, cause i drive offroad with my atv an its almost the same just in like xs miniature😂
The video title does
They got mudflaps on there cars
Their instragram links are in the description
I went off roading with a local off-roader's club that consisted of modified Jeeps, new Broncos, and a Toyota Pickup a while back. My vehicle was a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Z71. I wanted to see how offroad capable it was. The only mods I had on my truck was a leveling kit, and 33 inch Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. I was surprised at how offroad capable the big Silverado was. There were sections of trail that looked like my Silverado would get stuck or high centered but I was able to get through them no problem.
Jimmy just the most adorable lil gear head atp, soaking it all up 🤙🏼
I feel bad for the tacoma owner.
Me too😞
0:10 Time to call Matt's Off-road Recovery! EDIT: Matt should have been a guest host for this episode. lol
Matt has been on one of thes episodes in the past. I agree that he'd be perfect for this one as well.

@@AdventureEndeavor Awesome. Glad to hear it. It's a good feeling to do a self recovery without further issues. I couldn't tell from the video, was that a Jeep Wagoneer or a Ramcharger?
@@EvrttGrn grand Wagoneer, with TTB suspension and a LS swap
@@AdventureEndeavor Very nice. I've thought about trying to do a X-fer case and axle swap from a Wagoneer for my AMC Eagle to get low gear and a little more clearance.
Love seeing little Jimmy appearing more in these videos
Natasha had me at "Kinetic Grope" !!!!!
Zach is great. Bring him back for another episode.
I didn't get my licence until 20, drive alone at 22 and at 23.5 i was working in an oil field, in the tailings area. Learned to offroad real fast (company trucks so not my dime thankfully). But ive been stuck in bitumen and something they call polymer which lets you slide like jello but sinks like quick sand. my record was 22k damage to a 250. could only reach 1 of the 2 front tow hooks with the straps and it was a like 6 hour wait for equipment, so i made the executive call.... broke the tow hook and bent the frame of the front end... and the company fixed it lol
15:00, that 80 series landcruiser, along with the older nissan patrol in the the background are a stellar example of how Australia sets the standard.
I really enjoyed this video good job 👏
5:14 Bro just got laid out lmao

Great comment!
Hey that's me in the 80 series that was in the bog hole 😂 and yep, exactly, I had the winch ready and it was a fairly solid bottom so I knew that if I kept the throttle on and wiggled the steering wheel it'd eventually gain traction
