I’m sure there’s a line in the book I recall when he’s in the garden of Nurgle I like. He’s saying he sees weapons not of this time/futuristic (can’t remember the wording), I see this as a nod to 40k and the warm transcending time and reality. Also I imagine the voice he hears is Isha (Eldar Godess locked up in Nurgles realm) and with Alariel and Isha being the same in different settings. That’s how I imagine it anyway.
I will be very surprised if we ever see him as a major character again. We saw him in the novel Black Pyramid in 2019. Then appeared briefly in Broken Realms: Be'lakor last year. But I think we'll just get snippets of what he's doing as a supporting character when we do see him in the future.
Amazing video. Thanks Dough! I love how his squad follows him willingly into the plague garden to save the captured mate from Gutrot Spume. Feels to me like he projects much bigger leader qualities to he people that other Stormcasts like the Farstriders in 'Kragnos' who simply respect thier leader for beeing the best hunter.
I love Gardus. It's definitely his humanity that makes him such a great character. He makes a brief appearance in a short story packed in with Thunderstrike, called The Hammer I think. It's a cool story but more because of the main human character he goes to rescue and how she treats him.
Would you ever consider doing longer vids detailing the travels and adventures of characters and others, like an AoS character series, “stories to paint to” or something like that? I would love to see that and be good to get all the details of characters and the like in AoS.
Hmm.... to be honest, there just is such a limited amount of information about AOS stuff. Like, Gardus is super unique in how much content he has. I dont know how I could pull together something that ambitious XD
That fight with the candlesticks should be a short film or part of a novel, one of the best things in AOS easily. That and Tornus(?) the Redeemed I think show the Stormcast best; heroes made into these warriors, and you can ask what makes a hero? The soul is the most important thing, I would concentrate on that most and like your take that the faction's main theme is about identity.
So, it's funny that I'm looking through the video notes and it puts this in gaming. But! It shows Bolvar from World of Warcraft. And I'm thinking about the similarities of the character's sacrifices.

Plague Garden and the Black Pyramid are one of the few Warhammer books translated into my native language. I really appreciate these books.
