Thank you . 😎☘️
I am in the binge-watching phase as a relatively new subscriber. You are incredible! I love that you are YOU and that you just fully embrace who you are and show the world how wonderful that can be. Thanks for being so amazing and sharing all these wonderful bits of your artist's life!
Also every time I read the comments on your videos it makes me want to meet all your followers. I think you’ve really acquired such a special crowd. Maybe someday there will be a Sandi art festival 🎉
I’m really enjoying these process focused videos. I can see how this could be totally addictive; I’m really itching to do some art now. I paused the video a couple of times to do some art of my own. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for uploading this video, Sandi! I had some disappointments last weekend and haven’t felt like an artist this week or done much art, despite it being a big focus of my life right now. I know art and play will make me feel better and just seeing you play and talk about your materials has given me the bravery to reapproach my work. ❤
I'm literally humbled at the end of each video that I get to be the beneficiary of your devotion and vulnerability towards the process of creation in these videos - what a GIFT!
I love the way you just attack the page and have no limitations. I try really hard to let loose but it is very hard for me. Also I can’t wait until you make your books. Love these types of videos ❤️
P.S. I greatly appreciate being able to see your process. It gives me the push I need to experiment. Not sure why I'm uncomfortable with just trying. I'm not going for a masterpiece or intending to sell my art. Simply exploring and hoping to get better. So I should just do it🙃
My favorite kind of video! Love the camera angle, watching you create in real time, flipping through your sketchbooks and walking through your process. So interesting and inspiring 😊
Love watching you add the layers, Sandi! I am also two times through your Landscaping Class -- so awesome & inspiring! I learned so much, and I know I will be watching it again and again. You are a blessing!
I love how free your style is. I struggle with over-fixation on detail and accuracy, which makes me miss out on the fun of spontaneous creation. Thanks for sharing your process, its inspiring!
sandi i’m obsessed with this video! thank you so much for sharing your process, i’ve always loved watching how you get your hands dirty with supplies, it looks so fun! i finally decided to sit down and try it as well, to not be afraid of making mistakes as you said, and it’s so freeing and more importantly so fun! i feel so connected to my supplies, i’ve always felt so precious about them, but now i understand that they’re meant to be used in all sorts of ways there truly are no rules! mixing colors and different supplies textures on paper is so enjoyable and creates so many possibilities that would never had occurred if i just stuck to using supplies in the ‘right’ way. my creations feel so alive using your method, i love it!
I’ve been playing with such a mixed variety of materials lately, and I’ve come to realize how much I’ve really always loved illustration. You make the exploration of materials so enjoyable! 😊
What a great great video, I’m way too constipated when I’m drawing and painting. The tree trunk turned out awesome just what I would like to make. Thank you Sandi, always super inspiring❤❤❤
I have a big smile on my face, Sandy. You made my day - can't wait to start "smooshing". I love the large tree trunk you created from countless layers. So rich. Thank you, again.
This video was spectacular. I loved watching you work step by step at random. Your “play” is so inspiring and encouraging. Please continue this kind of video. So informative, especially using the mixed media. You have been my go-to TH-camr in my quest to have fun with my art, since my talent is limited.
Your videos always inspire me to reach for different supplies in my studio, and the light in your space is phenomenal! Thanks so much for sharing your process!
This video is the best! Thank you so much for sharing your processes and how you layer with mixed media, Sandi! This is incredibly inspiring and helpful! ❤
Well now, your oil pastel trick is very cool. Something about you makes me want to run and play. I think of you often when I need a little dutch courage. You're a gift.
The way you did that little lady with the hat was so wonderful! I almost didn’t watch because I didn’t want to be influenced to buy more supplies, but I’m so glad I did watch. Your way is so special.
As always, I so enjoy watching you create! When I last went to the art museum here in Houston and I'd read the info, like which mediums, I did notice how quite a few of them didn't have like just oil, or watercolor. Oftentimes, pencils were included, or mixtures of oil and/ or acrylic or watercolor. I did a painting with primarily watercolor of bedrocks and I finished it up with black fountain pen, white pen, and some pastel pencils. It was done on the huge Blick paper you had recommended a while back. Although, it is not a seller, it is among my favorites. I eventually want to do your landscape ( having a business messes with my frree time and wanting to play for a greater chunk of time, lol) course when I can really dig in with no time limitations (like making messes and moving around) or interruptions. Would you show some of your finished work, like the kind you would frame and explain how you used and in what order you used the various mediums? I really liked how you did some of that in this video for your sketch book. I don't doubt you have alreadyand I either don't remember or my mind is playing skip-to-my-loo (sp) Thank you and how fun!
Wow. Fantastic video. So informative as I ❤ the textures you create in your sketch work. And I’m definitely using the “sneaking up” technique with facial features from now on 😊😂
At the end you were becoming to hesitant to continue “playing” in this video. Watching you play is exactly why I’m here. To see the process happen in real time. I could watch hours of the actual process like towards the end of this video when you said it was getting so exciting for you. Even if I wasn’t watching it as an artist I would think it would be super nice to watch just that! Thank you always for your inspiration and hard work and videos!
Yes indeed I loved seeing you work in all those paint layers. It was so nice to see those messy hands and all the colors. Thank you for the inspiration to just get all my supplies out and have fun. And maybe buy some of those amazing paint markers too!! 🎉😊❤
You kept me company while I watched and did my own thing with my journaling for wellbeing and my cat was purring for us he loves art I think it's the hand amd brush movements tgat interest him je also likes to smash and rub and the likes in my journal love from us to you Sandi 😘...I loved this yes ofcourse my favourite type from you xx
Hi Sandi, this is very exciting, and helpful. Also visiting your church homepages made me feel like family in Christ. Thank you for showing your process of creating your pictures.
this was so much fun to watch! I LOVE layering and can't wait to play with the mediums in the way you suggest. Thank you again for the inspiration and flow!
Sandi, you have the best art supplies 🤩 but hopefully one day you'll give Stabilo Woodys a try 😁 I think you'll love those wonderful chunky pencils, they go over everything... Have a Wonderful day 🙌
Thank you so so much Sandhi for another excellent video, especially after all you’ve been dealing with recently. They’re always so inspirational and provide such lovely creative moments of joy every couple of weeks. Such a blessing ❤️🥰
So instructional and inspiring Sandi, thank you so much!! When I see this video of your work process, your paintings and sketches make even more sense to me. I love your work and videos and classes! Thanks for your generous sharing.
Thank you so much for showing us your process of layering so many different materials! I love it! I use so many different materials, but there are times I get stuck in my own head trying to figure out the best ones to work together, rather than just going for it. I appreciate all that you share. Take care ☺️
Oh my Sandi! I LOVE this kind of video!!! Your joy is infectious and inspiring. I’ve been smearing oil pastels for a couple of years now. I’ve actually worn the hide of fingertips a couple of times. I never thought about layering something on top of the smears. Wow! I am saving for your landscape class. I cannot wait. Sending much love and light from here. ❤️🧡💛💚💜💜🖤🤎🤍
I chuckled a little regarding peeling the dried acrylic paint off your plastic palettes. Delightful! I’ve packed a baggy with supplies to take out somewhere to create tomorrow. I broke some pieces off my neocolor ii and put them in a mint tin I had. I never would have tried that before meeting you. We will see how I enjoy using them with some gouache and colored pencils I’m bringing along. I’m excited to try!
I love to get my hands in my paint too, but maybe not as much as you. 😊 I tend to want to paint with my fingers when I use oil pastels. And I love your loose figures and smooshing technique. I love to get my hands in my paint too, but maybe not as much as you. 😊 I tend to want to paint with my fingers when I use oil pastels. And I love your loose figures and smooshing technique. When I do use my fingers, I usually keep an old dish towel or container of water nearby. I have some acrylic markers, but need to get a decent set.
