i had the pleasure to see Free when i was 15 , i stood just near the stage a few meters from Paul Kossoff , OMG what an energy,
till today i remember this gig as it was yesterday , such an impression he made on me.

You re a bit younger than me luc. I saw Free in Croyden at the Fox and Greyhound when All Right Now was in the charts. I must have been about 18 then. Absolutely unforgettable. These were the good old days when you could walk around most parts of London in relative safety.

Was there on February 14, 1976 Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA (Rory Gallagher, Black Oak Arkansas, with Back Street Crawler - with Koss on gtr). Koss was so high he couldn't play. 2 fingers on his left hand were in a splint. He kept playing ever after the songs were finished, The rest of the band stood away from him. He kept asking the roadies for a beer and kept staggering around. Their other guitarist played all the solos. March 19, 1976 one month later Kossoff dies. Saddest thing I've ever seen. I was such a fan of Koss too.

@cornholio1962 Yes not too long after that show with Rory Gallagher and Black Oak did Kossoff die. I liked his playing and the first 3 studio albums of FREE are outstanding. Ritchie Blackmore was a huge fan of Paul Kossoff. He praised Kossoff's guitar playing in interviews back in the 70s. ..
