Such a masterpiece... I'm speechless, my heart is happy, and cured. We don't deserve such magic band, how melancholic, pure, and beautiful they can sound... It just warm my heart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Robert 💗
I want to comment on this song, hard to know where to start. Saw the Cure last night in San Diego. It was a mess getting in, show was sold out. Wife and I were super stressed, because we knew they’d be playing Pictures of You second, and seeing that song live was a bucket-lister for us both. We got to the stage, just before they played it. I thought that song would be my favorite to hear, but three songs later, they played this song. I think most people at the show were probably hearing it for the first time, as was I. I can say with all certainty that hearing this song live, at a sold out show and with the love of my life, was one of the most powerful moments in my 45 years on this planet. We were both welled up, caught in the middle of this sad but utterly ethereal energy. Nobody captures that emotion better than The Cure and it’s so good to see they can still maintain such brilliance in a new song, even after so many albums and decades of song writing. I’ll have that memory for the rest of my life. I love you Sum.
Same, I was in awe. I heard it at their Montreal show the first night and I had to know immediately what it was. I sat there spellbound with tears in my eyes.
@@EQuinn-cr9oc Yeah, right. I'm guessing Simon just had a hissy fit, then came back. He's done it before. He knows he's completely dependant on Robert. Nobody would listen to him if he struck out and did his own thing, as an amazing of a bassist he is. He really suits The Cure, but, again, he just wouldn't make it without Robert. I think that might have something to do with his lashing out a while ago when he "quit" the band. It's also kind of ironic that when he actually did quit the band for a while back in the 80s, Robert put out The Top, one of their best albums ever, which also includes amazing bass lines by Robert himself.
In a world so complex, with war and poverty on a dying planet I find this song a true and heartbreaking moment of hope. I have tried not to cry listening to it, but couldn't stop the tears, so pure, so intense, so beautifull.

I meant if these are the worst songs on the album, and they are already excellent, then if the other songs are better than these, already excellent songs, then the album will be a masterpiece. This album is brutal. Life clearly took atoll and the grief is still fresh. You see him wiping tears quite often. Than you for writing all the words many of us could never say.

Saw them in London this year, my dad passed away the week before and this song just broke me, truly one of the most beautiful songs Robert has written out of countless others 😢
They played this show on the very day that we had to put our beautiful and handsome sweet family cat to rest. He passed away peacefully at the age of 18. His beautiful soul is free now and this song feels rightfully dedicated to him in my heart ❤️

Fan since 1986 when I was 12. Owner all their back catalogue and singles by 14!! the cure and Lou Reed / velvet underground were always my two favourites.
I found the 48 section. I found a unlabeled cassette when I was 17 and discovered my painting style and passion listening to it. (The Top)~ it took years of buying music to find who this band was, finally bought Disintegration, it was the doorway to my journey to Heaven.
This is Soul music. Its a genuine genre. I remember it. And it's why I was instantly attracted to this band. Its Soul music. They've been doing it all along and no one has recognized it. This song said it.

Boris was the greatest member of the band apparently (along with Robert) because only with Boris did the band make only classic albums from “Head on the Door”, to “Kiss Me” to “Disintegration”. With Boris the Cure never missed. Boris leaves and we get “Wild Mood Swings” and downhill… The Cure is Robert, Simon, Boris, Pearl and Lol, period… that’s the Cure lineup. Anything else is an imitation of that classic Cure lineup. Still amazing no doubt but not the originals who made The Cure

Have been playing this for a while now 😢 these are tender loving words. My husband and I have been together since we were kids. Engaged at 18 and married at 22 and now senior citizens (time goes fast so love and laugh). I once heard Robert talk about losing personal items in a fire and how losing one’s mind would be a terrible loss. The boy in my story is struggling with dementia and played in a band himself and is unable to even tune a guitar. But, the music and the songs are loud and clear. Thank you to this band for the music and Robert for his words that hold you while you listen. It is the best hug for us as we listen to The Cure every day. Missed the tour as I watched our granddaughter so our kids could go to two shows. I hope I get the opportunity to one day hear this live. Best band ever!

Thanks to the cure i never had to take any medecines or drugs to be in another state a parallel state far away from this crazy planet. I just listen all cats a grey or funeral party and i travel. Is this why cure is called cure ? This song is so deeply sad. Not sure RS is in a positive moment of its live listening the 3 news songs. But isnt' it why there are so diffrent and the reason why we love this band ? Do somebody know why Simon comfort Robert after 30 s ? Never saw that before. Robert seems to really be a little bit depressed. Hope "it can never be the same" will be part of the new material. Enjoy the shows for my side it will be Strasbourg, Basel and Paris !

Jason did very well on the drums, it's amazing how some people cry because of Boris even though I like him a lot, but yes all the drummers who went through The Cure
It's ridiculous people still talk about that. Jason has been the drummer for over 25 years, longer than any other drummer. Boris was phenomenal, and just is just as good, especially with his material. Endsong is a perfect example of a classic Cure drumbeat.

I feel Jason is probably a really nice guy who is easy to work with beyond the music which is just a part of touring and recording. So they probably keep him for personal more than musical chemistry sake

@@EQuinn-cr9oc Yeah, right. I'm guessing Simon just had a hissy fit, then came back. He's done it before. He knows he's completely dependant on Robert. Nobody would listen to him if he struck out and did his own thing, as an amazing of a bassist he is. He really suits The Cure, but, again, he just wouldn't make it without Robert. I think that might have something to do with his lashing out a while ago when he "quit" the band. It's also kind of ironic that when he actually did quit the band for a while back in the 80s, Robert put out The Top, one of their best albums ever, which also includes amazing bass lines by Robert himself.

In a world so complex, with war and poverty on a dying planet I find this song a true and heartbreaking moment of hope. I have tried not to cry listening to it, but couldn't stop the tears, so pure, so intense, so beautifull.

Saw them in London this year, my dad passed away the week before and this song just broke me, truly one of the most beautiful songs Robert has written out of countless others 😢
They played this show on the very day that we had to put our beautiful and handsome sweet family cat to rest. He passed away peacefully at the age of 18. His beautiful soul is free now and this song feels rightfully dedicated to him in my heart ❤️

Fan since 1986 when I was 12. Owner all their back catalogue and singles by 14!! the cure and Lou Reed / velvet underground were always my two favourites.
I found the 48 section. I found a unlabeled cassette when I was 17 and discovered my painting style and passion listening to it. (The Top)~ it took years of buying music to find who this band was, finally bought Disintegration, it was the doorway to my journey to Heaven.

Boris was the greatest member of the band apparently (along with Robert) because only with Boris did the band make only classic albums from “Head on the Door”, to “Kiss Me” to “Disintegration”. With Boris the Cure never missed. Boris leaves and we get “Wild Mood Swings” and downhill…
The Cure is Robert, Simon, Boris, Pearl and Lol, period… that’s the Cure lineup. Anything else is an imitation of that classic Cure lineup. Still amazing no doubt but not the originals who made The Cure

This song has such potent emotion in it, both instrumentally and lyrically.
Have been playing this for a while now 😢 these are tender loving words. My husband and I have been together since we were kids. Engaged at 18 and married at 22 and now senior citizens (time goes fast so love and laugh). I once heard Robert talk about losing personal items in a fire and how losing one’s mind would be a terrible loss. The boy in my story is struggling with dementia and played in a band himself and is unable to even tune a guitar. But, the music and the songs are loud and clear. Thank you to this band for the music and Robert for his words that hold you while you listen. It is the best hug for us as we listen to The Cure every day. Missed the tour as I watched our granddaughter so our kids could go to two shows. I hope I get the opportunity to one day hear this live. Best band ever!

Thanks to the cure i never had to take any medecines or drugs to be in another state a parallel state far away from this crazy planet. I just listen all cats a grey or funeral party and i travel. Is this why cure is called cure ? This song is so deeply sad. Not sure RS is in a positive moment of its live listening the 3 news songs. But isnt' it why there are so diffrent and the reason why we love this band ? Do somebody know why Simon comfort Robert after 30 s ? Never saw that before. Robert seems to really be a little bit depressed. Hope "it can never be the same" will be part of the new material. Enjoy the shows for my side it will be Strasbourg, Basel and Paris !

Jason did very well on the drums, it's amazing how some people cry because of Boris even though I like him a lot, but yes all the drummers who went through The Cure
Jason also improved very much. Years in the band are visible in his work. Pardon. They are heard in his work. He is excellent.
It's ridiculous people still talk about that. Jason has been the drummer for over 25 years, longer than any other drummer. Boris was phenomenal, and just is just as good, especially with his material. Endsong is a perfect example of a classic Cure drumbeat.

I feel Jason is probably a really nice guy who is easy to work with beyond the music which is just a part of touring and recording. So they probably keep him for personal more than musical chemistry sake
