- Here's my version of Radiohead's Weird Fishes. My guitar is tuned down a half-step, FYI. I prefer a strumming pattern on acoustic, rather than the single note picking on the original. I hope this helps someone out there.

I'm a new guitar player. The seeming simplicity and beauty of this song was one of the reasons I wanted to learn to play. Thank you so much for showing us how to play the song in a beginner-friendly way. And the strumming way you do it sounds so good. 🙂
Thanks for the nice comment Michael!
great explanation. no time wasting filler BS. straight to the point. thank you! one of my favorite radiohead songs. you played it beautifully
Thanks so much Jeff! I’m glad you liked it 👍🏻
Brutal!!!! I really love it dude!!! Great version.

Revisiting this again and feeling more in control every time 👌 thanks Teach
I’m glad it’s helped you!!!
it seems your picking pattern is MORE accurate than other videos, and possibly chords too and your timing!!!

L231 greetings from a new friend watching from Hong Kong. Hello my dear amazing friend, you are a great guitarist and performer. You’re voice was definitely sweet and lovely. When I listen your voice I feel so calm and relaxed. Thank you for sharing this excellent, fantastic, and very impressive guitar strummed. I do loved it and enjoyed a lot. Have a wonderful day and more power! Sending love from Hong Kong.😊🛎👍✅
Hi there! Thanks so much for listening and enjoying. Thank you for the knobs words as well!
Brilliant a this song took over my life through covid years , even got it tattooed on my arm 😂
Haha, I bet it was worth it!
Thanks for checking it out! It’s a great song. Nice on the tattoo!!
Great to hear an alternative strumming version. Would’ve been nice to have seen how you detuned your guitar first though.
Thanks @rinnin - noted. I typically tune down a half-step for an easier vocal range. I’m still figuring out the best way to have a TH-cam channel and often forget about things like the tuning and/or just explaining that I change things up for my own personal ease of playing. I’m glad you liked it though!
grande! grazie!
Grazie! Thank you thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
what a great tutorr chefffff❤.....
Haha! Thanks so much!
Every little bit helps! It’s your patience that makes it seem less scary. Like we all gotta start somewhere.
I’ll try to do more!
You're damn right! Love Wade's approach saying, "hey...it's totally ok to strum this tune"
@@freedomtoflail1927 💯
Doesn't that make it so much more . . . Possible ? ? ?

Thank you for watching!
@@wadeworkmusic congrats on 9,000 plays, much deserved.
Wow, thanks so much for noticing! I really appreciate that!
It’s does sound nice. I play RH a lot on guitar.I try to keep influences down to a minimal so I can be original. We play a lot alike. I play Alice In Chains as well. 🍻
Cheers Jeff!
cool tuto mate! i'm a beginner, any tips to not make the other strings ring ? i try to press my hand palm against the neck but not sure it's the best way
Thanks Emma! I’d suggest trying to mute with the sides of your fretting fingers. For example, if you’re fretting the 7th fret of the A string with your 3rd finger, you can just barely touch the side of the low E string with the same finger and mute it. For the high strings, you can possibly lay your pinkie finger of your strumming hand across those strings as you play.
I love this song and your version of it, but how to play the strumming pattern? 😭 I just can't see/hear how to play it exactly this way 😣
Thanks for listening! You can play it however you like, I’m certain you can make it your own 🙂
I like your ending chords more than Radiohead. It's my favourite song but i don't like their outro, the final bit. Here acoustic sounds better.
Thanks Jamie! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Are you muting the B string? I can’t tell. When I play it rings out and sounds weird.
Yes, I typically mute the B string, but it sneaks in there occasionally
@@wadeworkmusic Cool, thank you. I thought I was going crazy. You played it perfectly. My tiny hands don’t want it muted.
Chords?
Check out the other comment, I try to explain there.
Nice video bro! Can you please share the chords with me please?
Hey, thanks for the nice comment! The chords are essentially Em7, F#m7, A, G for the verses, but you'll note in the video the way the chords are played. Example, the Em chord is: 7th fret on the A string (5th string), 5th fret on the D string (4th string), and 7th fret on the G string (3rd string). Does that help?
Chords?
Hey there, check out the reply to Jayzen’s comment - I tried to explain there..
