Moment of silence for the people who only ever heard creep
Right on, man. All the best of The Sun readers.
Himmy Hon , poor them, I just glad to have witnessed this in my lifetime....
The poor bastards...
they have no idea what they're missing out on..
Yes! One must delve deep into the emotional, gut wrenching songs like Strange Fishes... In Rainbows was the 1 beautiful piece of auditory madness I had while I lived the winter of 2017 in my 20yr old Volvo with chemical induced days & nights
If you're sad, this song will make you even sadder, but then suddenly brings you a sense of happiness.
Like I found you
I'm right there right now
Facts
Yes last part of the song brings you hope
Radiohead summed up in a perfect sentence.
It’s always weird when you find a band where not the lyrics but the sound itself resonates with how you’ve been feeling.
Thank you for describing exactly how I feel about them
I’ve always been much more fond of instrumental bands, so it’s really satisfying to see people appreciative of instrumentals
It's a great thing tho...this song makes me feel like iam desperately.behind in things I should do. Lol
@@karlfritz47 I honestly had a similar reaction. I’m a musician and I would say my style is similar to the guitarist in radiohead, but I recently discovered them and they sound 1,000 years ahead of most bands out there.
That's always been me lol
I think I'm weird in thinking that a lot of Radiohead songs don't necessarily sound sad. They sound sad when you're sad and happy when you're happy imo, which is why they're one of my favorites
Ong so weird!!1

deep thoughts...
Minus the bear?
They're music has soo much range it can do that.
I am an actuary from Alaska. Every day, I compile statistics on swimming related fatalities in Bristol bay. Often my life seems like a monotone ferris wheel -- people enter and depart life in such calculable ways. I have become so comfortable in my routine that I neglect to remember what makes life unique. But when I listen to this song, I remember ice fishing with my dad, catching my first bluegill, and how wonderful childhood felt. Dad can't remember this anymore, but he always smiles when this song comes on. Thank you Radiohead.
🖤
good story🙏
❤️
I was just liking your comment....and then i saw your name.
isn't it wonderful how I, a person from Italy, can feel so relatable to a person from Alaska only because of a song? THIS SONG?

this song makes me less afraid of dying. it makes me think of going back to the earth and providing nourishment for new life. one die i'll die, but i won't really end.
Your helium atoms will float into space. Most of them will probably end up in the sun, but some will escape into deep space and will more or less be eternal.👍
That sounds a nice way to end @@tefalhead7396
I like that notion.
After looking at the lyrics deeply, I think I figured out what the video means, at least for me.
0:54 The stop motion characters were seeing are the "weird fishes". The lyrics are about a person who's lost faith in themselves. They feel as though they are "At the bottom of the sea". But then all of a sudden, a figure appears in their lives and rekindles the spark inside of their heart. "Your eyes, they turn me". The author asks themselves "Why should I stay here?" implying they'd be crazy not to follow this new person that has resurrected the life inside them 1:47. The wood statue with the skis is the protagonist who falls in love with this amazing figure.
However, we find out tragically that this newfound love was nothing but a fake promise and an illusion. The weird fishies end up betraying them, his soul reduced to a phantom, as the protagonist is led on by this fake plastic love. He follows them to the edge of the Earth and falls off after being abandonned because "Everybody leaves, if they get the chance". Having been betrayed, the main character is once again going through intense feelings of sadness and grief. Indeed, time and time again theyve let themselves been "Eaten by the worms and weird fishes" who attach themsleves on their head 3:17 , the worms and fishes symbolizing the people that have betrayed them in the past, and devoured their soul and life from the inside with their lies and broken promises.
The final lyrics conclude the story with a meaning that is extremely melancholic yet bittersweet at the same time, it perfectly captivates the human condition. No matter what tragic experiences we may endure in our lives, no matter how many people break our hearts, eventually we all hit the bottom and you can only go up from there. "Ill hit the bottom and escape" At 5:02 , the wood statue person rises slowly from the ground, you can see his heart has healed as a new head grows on top of the body with a little bird appearing inside, representing rebirth and life.
Bonus Easter Egg: Weird fishes = Feared wishes
Edit: I'm so happy this resonated with so many people. I recently got a job in Scotland, but it turned out to be a pyramid scheme, they lied to me about so many things. They made me move all the way from France and took advantage of my dream to live and work in the UK . Be careful for the weird fishes, they're everywhere! Stay safe ♥

Good art, whether sad or happy can inspire and raise your spirit because of its pure wholesome human/emotional beauty.
That’s just life, man. I like to say that Radiohead is like music for a lifetime. Like footage of the Earth from space.
The reason it comforts you is because you are human. ❤
@@wrongangle4881 perfect response
I always thought the song was about a broken human being, at the lowest point in their life as stated by “bottom of the sea”, realizing they deserve better saying “why should I stay?”. Finding a toxic lover and chasing them like a fish chasing a lure, hence the person is a “weird fish” knowing they have the opportunity to get this broken promise, all that person was, was bait. Chasing the bait to “the edge of the world”. That ultimately always led to them not getting caught. The saddest part is they know what happens, they’ve seen this before as they say “everybody leaves if they get the chance”. They’ve been baited before. Yet they still turn it around and say “this is my chance”, knowing that this person is just gonna gut them or throw them back to the bottom, because they don’t want the weird fish. Hence they’re left at the bottom to get “eaten by the worms”
That is a really good way of looking at it
It's actually about weird fishes and whale falls in the deep ocean.
How when a whale dies, a whole ecosystem comes to life on it's remains.
These biological communities cannot exist until the death of a whale.
There is a strange metaphor here that I suppose you could relate to the human condition but it's really a literal song. Thom also wrote songs for "Blue Planet 2", the BBC documentary about the ocean, narrated by David Attenborough.
The ocean obviously gives him great inspiration.

This touches something in my soul, can't explain it - just stirs up magic
Been obsessed with this song for 48h straight, and I cannot stop listening to it. It creates a magic feeling that punches my soul and makes me cry of happiness/sadness/weird nostalgia. In some way it feels like it was written for me to hear it, as it goes directly into the deepest parts of my heart. It's incredible what music is able to achieve, so similar to travel without moving to any other place. I'll be forever in debt with Radiohead for creating this

Nice words, well said.
I feel so lost, sending messages to people that won’t respond, and giving myself to position that holds no meaning, we’re just a bunch of systems of molecules floating around causentually
@@fanthonyman2140 Our positions may have no obvious meaning it is up to us to apply to purpose in our lives and find the meaning . Someone out there loves you man

Thom's voice has that yearning quality...glorious.
When she passed I found this song. She never heard it but didn’t need to. She lived it. When you don’t need a drug, a drink. You just sit and know.
And now she’s truly free.
This song is absolutely beautiful, medicine for the soul. I've been obsessed with it for the past few months.
RIP to my brother Dallas Allen who went to be with the Lord on 5/12/2017. This was his fav song by his favorite band. I know he's jaming to this tune in heaven rn!🙌🙌
He will come back, as everything else along the eternal return
0:26 i don’t know why but that particular arpeggio change always sends chills down my spine
This song is perfection. The euphoric feeling I get from this is indescribable.
Yee
cüs bu sarkıyı dinleyen türk mü varmıs...
the feeling when your high as shit and you just like fall into the music is seriously unmatched
Its hard to say this is my favorite radiohead song with so many over the decades... but this one hits me the most.
This song never fails to give me this weird feeling that I can’t explain. It’s like it touches your soul
BRO FOR FOREAL!! It’s nostalgic in a way!
4:10 - 5:00
literally i can feel it going through me every time i listen to it
In the deepest ocean
The bottom of the sea
Your eyes
They turn me
Why should I stay here?
Why should I stay?
I'd be crazy not to follow
Follow where you lead
Your eyes
They turn me
Turn me on to phantoms
I follow to the edge of the earth
And fall off
Everybody leaves
If they get the chance
And this is my chance
I get eaten by the worms
And weird fishes
Picked over by the worms
And weird fishes
Weird fishes
Weird fishes
Yeah I
I'll hit the bottom
Hit the bottom and escape
Escape
And I
I'll hit the bottom
Hit the bottom
Hit the bottom and escape
Escape
.
Truly, the most bonkers video you could create for a song but, this is Radiohead. The creator of the video deserves so much, maybe a lifetime supply of 'mushrooms'.....
Te amo Radiohead, esta canción es un temazo
Exactement, elle est parfaite
Amamos ❤
Preciosa todas son joyas sagradisimas radiohead es más que una banda ya están fuera de esta dimensión los 5
Maestros. ❤
🎶🎸💯
Gracias por existir
just realized listening to this on lsd that even in the - dark, drowning, sad, ugly, weird - theyre having fun and contemplating the beauty of life like it was their first time.
so beautiful.
Good way to see it. I agree!
Not a great video to watch on lsd though
with the effect everything is wonderful
Look how fast the sun is moving at 4:40. imagine how long this took to make... truly a masterpiece.
Its Me, John Stamos made by Tobia stretch
maybe they were just being lazy.
I skated philly w Toby stretch gnarly dude
*look at how fast the sun is moving*
das ist gut (:
There’s something addicting about that intro.
this happened to my buddy eric. he got eaten by worms and weird fishes.
weird dishes

Dark Link beard wishes

Weird wishes
Feared Bitches
Me tearing up and shivering: "Come on bro, it's just a song"
Not just a song ....
The best part of Weird Fishes is when you realize that you are no longer in the real world but on an existential plane that makes you realize everything and feel that you are in a dark paradise while watching this video clip knowing that it is the most beautiful you see... or maybe I just overrate In Rainbows idk
this song just teleports me away like nothing i’ve heard before. i can’t believe it’s real
this is literally the best song ever made fight me
facts
what about radio head creep
@@arisrichardson7528 I’m assuming you’re joking but tbf it is still a good song.
How about Jigsaw?
I totally agree.
There is something about this band that has always intrigued me, but only recently has it really "clicked" for me, and I have missed the feeling of enjoying something so whole heartedly you can barely contain yourself. This has invited a beauty into my life that I have been searching for. This has made me grateful to exist on this Earth. This has restored a bursting vibrance and delicate softness to my soul.
Same haha grateful to exist on earth because of them and only for them. Their music can bring me to some other dimension that my inner self could only comprehend
@@nickcauilan6408 I know exactly what you mean friend.
Similar for me. I've liked some songs from them for years, but earlier this year it all just clicked and I became an obsessive superfan, listening almost exclusively to Radiohead for months lol. I love that feeling. Same thing happened with the Beatles a couple years ago.
Someone is cutting onions. Thanks
That was simply a lovely thing to leave, for others to find and be moved by.
"This has restored a bursting vibrance and delicate softness to my soul."
That is gorgeous.
Awesome animation
My 🥺sleep paralysis demons🥺 running back home all happy to meet me.
the reflective melancholy but receptive jubilance that Radiohead gives you is unlike any other listening experience
I love the fact that this artist represented weird fishes with a movement animation, I always felt it the same way, travelling by bike across the country
What an intellectual way of thinking about that. I know that sounds silly but like not many people think of that correlation between music and the perfect visual accompaniment and I just appreciate that you appreciate that.
Nice observation
I dont get it
i think this song is the best of radiohead
Algunos refieren a alguien más allá afuera, pero realmente yo creo que es una lucha interna que todos llevamos en nuestras vidas.
