Happy Saturday folks. One of the things i like about this channel is how many new (to me at least) artists that im introduced to on a regular basis. Cheers
Thanks for the heads up on the new Bass Communion....as a result, I put a preorder in today...would be great to hear Steven Wilson discussing Bass Communion with you...cheers
Hey Dereck, that's an awesome porcupine tree t-shirt. Glad to hear the music with powerful on the porcupine tree live album. Sucks that the vinyl has pops in it. Boris is amazing band. They always come out with something interesting. Dereck you are spot on with the human bandwidth we just keep listening to the same stuff. As you know where creatures of habits. So that's why it's awesome you're introducing all of us into different music that opens up are horizons. I'm very thankful for that Dereck.
Ahhh, Alcest! That debut album is gorgeous. And Ecailles de Lune is my absolute favorite of theirs. That album is a pure ethereal and spiritual experience. You made the best “mistake” buying those! Would love to hear you talk more about it in a future video
I just got back from my buddy's record shop and had to snag that Cabaret Voltaire Shadow of Fear dlp purple variant. Also grabbed some Killing Joke and Fields of the Nephilim. I have a soft spot for that goth sound. Best way to spend a Saturday! ❤ Cheers.
I highly recommend you check out :Deryl Gabel - " Believe" with Chad Wackerman and Jimmy Johnson. " Atlas" by Tim Miller. Allan lives on in their souls.
I agree, commercial music occupies too much of human bandwidth. 😅. Thank you sir for introducing me to many new or old but wonderful music that is not mainstream. Listening to The Blue Nile. Dig it. Lot of emotion in their music. Cheers
My birthday is tomorrow Dereck, looking forward to starting the day watching you review some music , but of course I know it’s Sunday and we may not see you . Cheers
Alex Skolnick is in Jane Getter's band They are all Holdsworth fans as well as Tim Miller , Alex Sill, and Alex Machacek. I've seen them all on stage with Virgil Donati , Evan Marion and Steve Hunt. What a show, an army of Allan shredders.
My guess is that the clear vinyl LP is noisy because they cut the grooves too narrow. There’s a huge amount of wasted dead wax; they could have spread out the grooves and done a louder cut.

You've introduced so much music to me that I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Thank you!

You just sparked me to give Sakamoto another listen. You inspired me the first time and I liked it, but it never grabbed me. Time for another go.
Ahh, Beauty! Love that album, we love you! Indeed ❤
Ahhh!! Alcest is wonderful ❤
Good tips on Porcupine Tree and Lee Ranaldo.

If only Duran Duran had the sound quality of Japan.
I bet the Lee Ranaldo sounds great.
beth gibbons/ portishead. Has a new album out. You probably have heard already.
It's very good and so are the videos.
I will always be a fan of Steven's and Richard's solo work over Porcupine Tree. That is not a knock against PT as well.
