I’ve used a pure Speedo’s intent, valor and the Mizuno Sonic 3 MR, besides looking the best in my opinion I’ve swam best in the mizuno during meets where I wore all 3 suits
Love that TYR used to have the best suits in your opinion, and now that you’re sponsored by speedo you say that they have the best suits. Definitely trustworthy and not bias …
I am a breastroker and freestyler, and I wear The Arena Powerskin carbon-glide jammer in which I have seen many people at the meet wear, including speedo, and TYR tech suits.
As a D1 collegiate swimmer and a girl that has been wearing tech suits for 7+ years, Cody's comment about the durability of the suits is so wrong. Don't get me wrong, the Speedo Valor is my go-to tech suit after many trials and tribulations with other brands like TYR, but once I wear a Valor, it will never feel the same again. Speedo stretches out the quickest which does make it comfortable, but I guess it depends on if you want to sacrifice comfort for speed. For longer meets (5 days), I normally get a Valor for prelims and another one for finals. Once I wear them for a meet, I call those old suits and wear them for beginning of the season meets. I wear a closed-back valor, which ends up dry-rotting in the thinnest parts (mid back and above the belly button) after more than 3 meets. Overall, I do recommend the Speedo Valor if you have the resources to buy multiple per season.
I 100% agree as a fellow D1 swimmer who has worn Technical suits for 6+ years I have found speedos suits tend to stretch out faster then my personal favorite suit the carbon air 2. I have found the speedo tech suits wear out after 5-6 days of competition maximum mainly because the hydrophobia wears off very fast and it tends to stretch at the waist more then I like
Thank you for this video, finally found out what is the difference between the two. My 14 year old swimmer is getting his first real tech suit for regionals. We struggle with figuring out the fit. Speedo size chart tells you to size down quite a bit. He did try a speedo one at the swim meet this weekend, we were a bit rushed and I didn't check the name. It looked more like the Valor one (size 26), they didn't have the Intent. He's a sprinter and according to his measurements he needs a 24, which seems crazy small. The coach took a look at him wearing 26 and thought it was tight enough. He's very tall and normally wears Speedo Vanquisher in 30, other training suits in 28. Would be great to see a video on how the tech suit should fit. Would you say you'd take the same size in either of the suits?
I'm a backstroker, but as an age grouper swim fly and free too, and it's tough to pick a suit for the season. Wore a carbon air2 for a few years and switched to the intent and found that the compression, especially at the end of a 200 back, was too much. I think I might grab a valor for this season. Having said that, the snap you get from the bands on the intent help alot in short distance fly and free.
Cody, I believe your coming to see my team this September, I have been a fan for three years and freak when I see other people meet you. I’m so exited!
If anyone is looking for tech suit reviews I would highly recommend checking out “the swimsuit guy” he’s reviewed most tech suits on the marked and seems fairly unbiased
He used Arena Carbon Glide Diamonds💎 in the 200free. He might have used Carbon Core FX or Carbon Air2 in the 100free world record but I’m not sure… 100% sure of that they were still Arena’s racesuits
it depends on the brand, suit, and your size before. i personally get mine online so i can look at the size chart and it’ll tell you the size if you get an arena and alr size down for you. but like i said it depends on the brand. for my first tech suit i went down 4 sizes
I normally wear a really tight jammer idk if they still make this suit but it’s called the Endurance+ Deep within Its pretty tight on me and feels like it floats kinda like a tech suit
My 14 yr daughter picked up in the first 20 seconds that you were going to talk just boy swim suits and said it didn’t apply to girls. She has joined swimming partly based on your videos. She said why another female swimmer could provide feedback? Lilly, Lazer or even your wife could have helped. I know it was a Speedo sponsor and others may be TYR but isn’t there any other options?
I’d definitely look up swimswams yearly tech suit review! They have male and female swimmers review suits that come out during that specific year. Coming from a collegiate female swimmer, It definitely depends on stroke, swim length, and personal preference. A3 is great for IMers and breaststrokers. The valor is also great for stroke and longer races since it gives a lot of range of motion. I personally race in the intent as a sprint free and back swimmer since it gives me optimal compression for free and buoyancy for backstroke. TYR Venzo is great for distance, and the TYR venom is a great all around suit.
He's a guy so can only go off his experience but I have tried both speedos and the tyr venzo. I liked all of them, currently I prefer the TYR Venzo both for the compression and the appearance but for a 14 year old I would recommend either of the Speedos as they're cheaper and with the rate of growth you don't want to be spending heaps of money. What he said about the suits still applies to the female suits but they have seams for abs as well. Really the best thing is to test out what your daughter likes, starting with cheaper, more basic suits and working your way up to the higher compression, more expensive suits.
What about cost? Tech suits are quite expensive, and it can be kind of difficult to spend €200-€350 on a swim suit. Maybe you can discuss the cost effective suits?
lol I’m not even a guy but I’m watching a video about guy suits, lol Edit: only 13 and overs can wear tech suits so in your videos like this say their not for 12u’S
In my ( and the swimsuit guy’s) opinion, the mizuno go sonic series is and has been the best on the market
IMO same, but mizonu’s and breaststroke might not mix super well
@@aflyingmermaid5764 Nah the GX Sonic MR is the perfect suit for breaststroke.
I’ve used a pure Speedo’s intent, valor and the Mizuno Sonic 3 MR, besides looking the best in my opinion I’ve swam best in the mizuno during meets where I wore all 3 suits

ikr its abit scuffed
i take it as a guide for speedo tech suits, not tech suits in general
Cody, this guide was amazing. Thank you for the in-depth tutorial of what suits to wear. It was also perfect because I just turned 13! Thank you!!!
Same I just turned 14!
Next time, bring one of your female swimmer friends in to cover the female race suit options.
yesss i never see reviews of womens suits
@@rachelkenny4331 same I need a new racing suit and have no idea what to get
Yesssss
GREAT idea!
PS. Get Ariarne on the vlog doing some female race suit reviews! How's that for blockbuster... 👍🏊♀
I'm so jealous looking at Cody's table full of racing suits
I am a breastroker and freestyler, and I wear The Arena Powerskin carbon-glide jammer in which I have seen many people at the meet wear, including speedo, and TYR tech suits.
I always like before I watch cuz I know it’s gonna be fire
my favourit suit to this day (as a long distance guy) is still the og arna cabon air, kind of hard to get nowadays though :(

He did mention that the Valor would stretch a little bit after a use 🤷♀️

I just got the green glow pure intent in a size 20 and it fits perfectly

marchand swims legit every thing and wears a Valor
Cody, I believe your coming to see my team this September, I have been a fan for three years and freak when I see other people meet you. I’m so exited!
Mizuno is by far the best because of its compression and snap back.
If anyone is looking for tech suit reviews I would highly recommend checking out “the swimsuit guy” he’s reviewed most tech suits on the marked and seems fairly unbiased
until u throw in a mizuno
@@seantheswimmeror an arena
Hey Cody just curious where do you find the white speedo tank tops or shirts that you wear?
Speedo make really good suits but Mizuno gx sonic is my personal favorite
Can u please explain about female swim suit
As i looked many videos but these are the points i want to know for female swimsuit as well
can we get lily to cover the women's kneeskin suits??
unfortunately it cant be lily cuz shes not sponsored by speedo so she cant promote the suit, and cody has to because he is
Do you actually train in these suits or just for racing?
can you do a vid about the best jammers for 10 year olds
It would be cool to see a comparison between speedo and arena by you
Keep in mind it would be biased since he’s a speedo athlete.
Hes sponsored by speedo
How about now
Why give a link dude when there's gonna be no stock at all
How low is the normal one on the valor? And how high is the high waisted?
what about arena suits???????????
great video!
How about TYR Venzo?
What Suit did Popovici wear to break the 100 and 200 Free records? Cody, any idea?
He used Arena Carbon Glide Diamonds💎 in the 200free. He might have used Carbon Core FX or Carbon Air2 in the 100free world record but I’m not sure… 100% sure of that they were still Arena’s racesuits
@@aarontikkanen9163 i think it was a carbon air2
He used carbon air 2 for both
Could you do one for racing trunks please with briefs and etc
Thats funny...a couple years ago he said the fastest way was with TYR swimsuits :D
Which should i buy for 1500 meters??
Dude... that's a real endless pool!!😀
How do you size your race suits? Some guys I know purposely buy 1 or 2 sizes smaller …..

Best to try it on, I wear a 26-28 for my training brief, and a 20-22 for my pure intent
should i get the power skin st 2.0
Cody yoy are like a snov men, axXaxa! Greetings from Russia!
How much should I size down when trying to get the speedo intent?
1 size😊
Still have my Fastskin sharkskin full body suit. Look at it now and think how the hell did I fit in that lol
I wonder how Blake is doing. Haven’t seeepn him in your vlogs in a while. Please bring him back.
anyone have any recommendations for mid season suits? like suits for non taper meets
I normally wear a really tight jammer idk if they still make this suit but it’s called the Endurance+ Deep within Its pretty tight on me and feels like it floats kinda like a tech suit
Speedos or hydro blades

You can’t go wrong with getting a race suit as long as it’s an arena or tyr or speedo, the only thing you’ll mess up on is spending too much money

I'm a triathlete, and swim in my bike-suit, but I really would like to have a speedo swimwear tri-suit...
High waist or low waist?
Only on kine

How do not have more subscribers
I actually like swimming in the rain
Nah all of you guys should buy a mizuno, no other brand compares.

Good review...I love the sticky on the waistband to keep it snug.

Cody.. don’t do the 400 IM cuz there are a lot of People that don’t want to see u suffer in the 4
Im a 400 IMer xd
More compresive suits use alot of energy because u are fighting the suit kind of when kicking but they are faster.
Why don’t you cody shabe your hair from your body doesnt’ that help?
Jesus loves you guys!!!
Very misleading title if you're only talking about speedo swimsuits.
only two of them actually
$300? Do I look like bugs bunny?
Try a mizuno and you’ll never go back
