  • I installed two Pearce grip extensions on my Glock 27 magazines. The install is much easier than I originally believed it to be.

    UPDATE! I went shooting today with the Pearce grip extension. It not only performed the way it was intended, it was awesome! It didn't pinch or feel weird in any way. The grip allowed me to get fast follow up shots. I would highly recommend this for all Glock 26/27s.

      Its a serious pain but kinda easy. Use a heavy punch. And nothing else. The right tool for the job. It also gets easier after the first time the original is removed, a smart Yucktuber will practice before recording.

      Yeah, kinda wanted to let my fellow "big handed" brothers and sisters know that these pistols CAN be shot by us (lol). Since I wondered if this pistol would actually be usable and fun or a safe queen due to size, I thought a "documented" size, install, and feel after would complete the video. I mean because why would you install a grip extension if you didn't need it and even more so, why would you install an extended version if you didn't need even more! I dislike videos that are titled one thing then show something else for the majority of the video....😐......That said, I hope this extra info only helps those looking at doing this because of larger hands verses a useless extension of video content. Merry Christmas 🎅🎄

    Is that bottom plate needed?

    • @blkcc1
      @blkcc1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know it can be hard at times to work around however, to "lock" the bottom of the mag floor plate into position you need the bottom plate. It has a nipple/detent sticking up that fits into a hole in the floor plate that is slid on and locks it into place without fear of sliding off.

    • @blkcc1
      @blkcc1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The base plate of the mag "locks" onto the two side catches and the plate inside the magazine to make sure it is locked into place. You can use the mag without the lock plate however remember that a third of your retention to hold the base plate on is no longer there. Don't drop your mags on the deck and you should be fine. Just remember that without being able to touch and see the mags I can't guarantee they'll work however, common sense says if you're shooting at the range they should be fine. If these were for an every day carry I would put the lock plate in just because I wouldn't want to drop my mag in the heat of the moment and find it puked its springs out.

    • @blkcc1

      The reason for a grip extension is because of big hands! What I tried to do was make it like virtually trying on the grip. I did this by giving dimensions. The gun was too small before the grip extension and had I shot it prior, probably wouldn't have gotten it. With the grip extensions this is now a great gun for me, very accurate with repeatable follow up shots. It's just big enough for me now. I can understand that if you don't have Mickey Mouse size hands like me, it may not matter, lol. I thought the size of the shooters hands and the resulting feel of the purchase on the grips was relevant to why you would even install them. I hope you have a great weekend!

      @blkcc1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Bryson, One of the things I noticed when doing mine was that the plate inside of the mag (little nub that sticks through the middle of the exterior base plate) had to be pushed pretty far into the mag so I could squeeze the sides together enough to allow the two nubs at the side of the bottom of the mag, the ones that create a snap for exterior base plate, to push in and allow the exterior base plate to come off. I also used the leverage of the rod I used to push up the interior base plate to push forward the exterior base plate and make it come off the mag. I hope this helps and I hope my run on sentences don't distract from the info. Take care.

      @@PeanutBUtter-px4gk thanks for the great comment. I'm 6' and was about 260lbs at time of video. I had a hard time holding the pistol due to the smaller size and snappy high pressure 40 round. Once I put the grip extension on and could use my pinky to help hold the gun, it was like a new gun. I could not only hold a better sight picture, I could perform fast follow up shots with great accuracy. I love the smaller size of the G27, I just needed a little longer grip on the frame. Oh yeah, add a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel and you know have two guns! Add a 357sig barrel and now you have three guns. • @blkcc1
      @blkcc1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have found that by pushing the bottom spring plate as far up as possible, it will make the squeezing of the magazine tube sides easier, not easy! but easier. Some times when the bottom spring plate is not up into the magazine tube enough, it will not let you squeeze the side "in" enough to let the floor plate slide off, you have to do it at the same time, push up the bottom spring plate and also squeeze the sides of the magazine tube (at the bottom). When the previous is done at the same time, with your third hand using the device you used to push up the bottom spring plate, use as a lever and push the floor plate off the tube with it. Just be careful and don't break it or yourself. Best of luck.

      Ironic, people that don’t really need the magazine extension don’t understand the explanation or reason for it. People with big hands understand the frustration trying to get something to fit and appreciate the measurements , just read the comments. What I like even more is when someone like @garykanadjian6814 that has never made a video and only has four videos saved on their channel feels qualified for some reason to be able to critique a video made almost 10 years earlier. I guess trolls will do what trolls with little, small hands will do! Complain about videos made for people with adult (or larger) sized hands, it’s call envy and doesn’t look good! Every time you display envy, your hands will shrink just a little bit more, hahaha.
