    Let me know your thought on Eddy, and who you would like to see. We are working on many great topics from mid September.

      I very much enjoy your channel, not only for the depth of episodes and details you manage to provide but the professionalism of your presentation and the high production values, which is increasingly rare on YT. I recently published part of a series of illustrated books by the artist/illustrator Edmund Dulac on amazon, and I would like to include a short video for the series. Would you be interested in a small commission? Something around three minutes seems to be the norm. My best regards for your continued success.

    Great video, I knew almost nothing about him. I imagine people just got the Cleveland St scandal and the ripper scandal mixed up as time went on.

    He was Not a murderer!
    Eddy was too "soft" or too weak too ever be involved in murder.
    His family knew he was far too frivolous and rather empty headed but knew he was easy and charming in his nature.
    His mother, Alix, was a mother who really didnt want her children to grow up and spoilt them although she could be possessive and selfish.
    His temperament in no way was evil or even vindictive.
    A very gentle and cossetted person was Eddy.
    Killer was not in his nature.

    Yet again, another great show. It's has since been proven that the price was at Balmoral while the "Ripper" was on the loose. Sadly his name has become embellishment for advertising.

    Sliding doors, hey? If WW1 had not happened, WW2 would not have happened. To be sure, a megalomaniac will always find a pretext for destruction, but Eddy's survival to the monarchy would have created a different history. Interesting to speculate.

    If I remember correctly Geroge was in love with one of their cousins too but she turned him down and married a lessor Russian royal instead. That was why he was willing to accept Mae and it is said they grew to love each other mourning over Eddie but in reality, Queen Victoria wanted them to marry so they did. They did have a good marriage and did grow to love and respect each other.

      Yes, I think you mean. Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia. She was the daughter of Tsar Alexander II. Would have been a good break, as it was all German marriages to monarchs from the house of Hanover.

    A great post on Prince Eddy. Thank you. One quite thoughtful biography is 'Prince Eddy -The King Britain Never Had' by Andrew Cook. Just one point about Cleveland Street, not all the boys/young men who were known to have been employed there were jailed. I think that those who were thought to have procured , in other words, recruited, others were. Will need to consult a couple of books that I have on the subject and get back to you.

      @@MythicMindScape21 In respect of Cleveland Street, telegraph boy Henry Newlove and former Post Office employee George Veck plead guilty to charges of 'Gross Indecency ' on 18th September 1889. Veck got sentenced to nine months imprisonment with hard labour and Newlove four months imprisonment with hard labour. Some six other telegraph boys were named in this respect but not charged. Both men were involved with recruiting the boys, but more serious charges of 'conspiracy' and 'procurement' were dropped by the Prosecution . ( 'The Cleveland Street Scandal' , H.Montgomery Hyde)

    Up until now, I knew nothing of the lovely Prince Eddy so your video presented like a high quality telenovela!! His childhood made me blue and I felt elated when he got to uni and could live a bit more freely. Then….the “what ifs” started piling up! Talk about unlucky in love, yikes. If I had seen this in the cinema, I would have been screaming, marry Eddy at the screen when Princess Alix showed up. Then, I just about fell over when QE2’s gran hit the scene. Who knew she was meant to marry the brother, I didn’t. Had Prince Eddy lived to ascend the throne, the world would certainly be different, for better or worse, who knows? As for his so called scandals, supposedly homosexual activity was a thing at these upper crust boarding schools so it wouldn’t surprise me if Eddy had such experiences. His sexuality is of no interest to me. Was he up to no good? I doubt it, not with that handsome mug!! Think I’ll have to watch again and pay closer attention. Looking forward to your Margaret Campbell biopic, lots of skeletons to rattle there!

    • @MythicMindScape21
      @MythicMindScape21  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much, the Margaret Campbell one is quite long, as so many videos talk about the scandal involving her and Ian, We wanted to tell the story of her life from childhood, to debutante of the year, to her engagements, miscarriages, divorce with Sweeney; then get into her relationship with Ian and all the ins and outs of the scandal. Glad you liked the story on Prince Eddy, most of our stories will focus on women, but I found the portrayals of him mostly unfair and wanted to let the historical record speak for itself. Look for Margaret on the 14th or 15th of September.

      No doubt there’s a lot more to the duchess than some dodgy snaps and can’t wait for your next installment. I’ll say it again, your shows should be on PBS!

    • @MythicMindScape21
      @MythicMindScape21  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much. There is much more to her story, but I must say she is a tad frustrating as she simply continues to go back to Ian and trust him despite the fact it was abundantly clear he was using her for her money as he used everyone. I feel great sympathy for her but at the same time she was remarkably naive. It is why I feel her video deserves a longer telling from childhood, but perhaps 60 minutes is too long as most people are simply interested in the polaroids and the identity of the headless man.

      As King he may have allowed the Romanov family to stay in the UK due to his prior relationship with her. George was less willing. I was not speaking about them getting married. I was speaking about her and her family being given refuge after the revolution.
