I watched Brent when he first bought this town, and heard all of his dreams and I thought...it seemed daunting...but he never gave up and kept working it. It's so wonderful to see the concrete is finally poured...you all did a wonderful deed for your friend...just so inspiring. Now for caving...you made me think, "does your wife know your going in that dangerous mine"...but you boys will be boys. I've just recently found your site and have subscribed. I don’t even know where to begin…..I’m a home/build/off grid/outdoor video enthusiast! Months back I came upon Brent and Ghost Town Living. Very cool and fascinating videos, most importantly it’s wonderful to see the love and passion for things that most would simply forget about or just not care. That is how I found your HeavyDSparks channel. As a 60 old women and mother of two wonderful, now adult kids, I often am overwhelmed with pride and hope when watching you guys! I love how you explained and honored every one of your team members, as life is a “team” effort! You have a huge heart and it’s wonderful to see what soulful, funny, passionate about life, great fathers and husbands you are! It instills a great sense of pride and hope in humanity to see that when we all come together, WE CAN LITERALLY OVERCOME AND DO ANYTHING! This is by far the best thing I have ever seen. Being a contractor for my whole life and doing builds completely off the grid is a life changing experience. I know this first hand. As I watched this video all I wanted to do is to be there doing what ever I could but being so far away I just don’t know how I could do it. This is so much more then just another building being built this is something one day our grandchildren will read about. It’s something most people will not get or understand but to build something so far away from anywhere is so challenging but at the end of the day when you watch the sunset you get it. It’s a total different world. It’s quiet peaceful and unfortunately most people will never get to experience that feeling of being in the middle of know where but to be at absolute tranquility. You guys rock. Not to people willing to give up a crap load of money but their time to help with something like this. This is now on bucket list to someday either help or visit the new hotel…

Brent isn't an eclectic man. He's a visionary , not just a dreamer. This is a huge part of history and our past that NEEDS to be saved. Amazing! Not only are you helping Brent create his legacy but your also helping keep the legacy going that was already created by the many people of the city that came before us. Your helping maintain a legacy but also history. This is part out of some families lives and history that we may not have been apart of but we have learned about it and our children and their children will learn this history. Mining was and is a big part of northern Cali so much so as kids we had field trips to mining areas and the Shasta caverns just about every year. We all got a little jar of gold from the mines to take home which is so cool. I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve been to the caverns. It’s wild to see the way the world worked before us. I hope you guys get to go back again.

I’m a construction guy and saw a need here in my hometown to fix all the baseball fields that the local kids played on sure it was my resources,machinery,materials and connections but I know that feeling you’re talking about it is special and it keeps you going. When you do something right the right people show up. I recently lost my leg and fought for my life but I’m here down not out. I need to make a road trip to see you guys I’m in CO so not too far I tell my wife she should buy me a truck that you guys have put your hands on she just laughs and says I can barely get into the SUV it be comical watching me trying to get into one of your builds.Anyway it’s inspiring to watch what you do we could use a couple more people like you and your crew in this world! I recently discovered your channel. I had, incorrectly, believed that you and Diesel Dave were just what I saw on the show. I enjoyed the show, and now can enjoy more from you. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that you have a very giving side. I really love the rescue videos. cleaning someone else's trash is outstanding. You two are doing what I loved to do back in the '70s. My then girl friend, now wife of more than 50 years always "packed out" more than we packed in. I get to do that vicariously now through you. This was beyond sweet, I'm really glad I got around to watching Heavy D's perspective. Being able to see the whole journey throughout the four parts really made this really genuine since you can see and feel as this went from a job to a passion project. One of my favorite parts of Cerro Gordo is how it does seem to bring people together; how everyone does truly get a sense of progression and trying to preserve the past.
The best part of this video is the chills that I got from all of you doing everything you did to help out. That is so amazing and beautiful to see. If everyone was willing to pay it forward in one way or another they way your team just did, this world would be absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing this with us. It’s inspired me and I hope it inspires everyone else

I just got on with this whole youtube thing starting with watching Brent’s channel. Then of course had to follow Heavy D, so glad I got to witness all this! Faith in humanity restored! I literally cried at how amazing all of you are and what you did for a guy trying to fulfill his dreams. We all could learn something from this.
