I'm still not over the genius design of his passive. Finding an effigy, and mimicking the real Fiddlesticks is just insane froma design standpoint. You *will* get scared because you can't tell from the get-go if it's the real Fiddle and well, that means Fiddle actually achieved his goal by giving you a scare. Perfect.
When I'm fed as fiddle, I will stand in the river posing as an effigy when an objective is about to spawn, enemies will come to ward the dragon/baron and when they pass right by me, I ult them. I have done this to groups of 2-3 people, and basically no one checks wether I am a ward or not. It's glorious and makes them instantly afraid of my wards for the rest of the game.
I have to admit i wasted so much flashes to effigy, I'm usually a support, I'm terrified of Fiddle one shoting me
@@joaquinduverne6259 I pulled that in a Clash game where we were extremely far ahead from my team and I terrorizing Kayn's jungle all game. I sat by river entrance and waited while the last drake was spawning, and they had no idea- Karma even walked up and auto'd me once without realizing LMAO
Oh the amount of skillshots wasted on my effigies, i can t stop laughing. Malphite ulted an effigy
In low elo, everyone really want the kill, so usually they lose 2 - 3 ult for one single effigy, and it is like that nearly all game

tbf tank Middle Fiddle on release was really awful to play against, dialing down his healing from minions was a good call. He's not bad as a support!

True, it's had* because now you finish full health but while you are doing double camps for the first clear, you are half health or less. Any invading enemy could easily kill you

@@100organicfreshmemes5 Ww is a very bad champion. First of all he cant full clear @ or around 3:15. Second the champ has band-aid's with his W. He also is useless in most team compositions or against most teamcompositions. Grevious wounds shuts him down harder than anything else and everything he does can be outclassed by other champs. He is good in lane since nobody can expect a WW to be strong 1-3 but post that he falls off and becomes more and more useless. He needs a rework tbh

i mean he also had to do breaks he trained for yearsand it hurts his troath but is still very well done
i still remember a yi face checking a bush with my effigy in it ,, the effigy mimics flash ,,, yi panics and flash ,, after it disappeared he stood in place for a while realising how dumb that was XD
You love to it especially when ur feed and someone steps on 1 that makes the ult animation, ive seen malphites throw R at them many adcs panic flashing away its too funny for what its worth

I can’t believe you went the entire video without gushing about how fiddles effigies will stay on the map until someone spooks them and that they act like a sweeper
They don't last *indefinitely* , but they do last a really long time once you get to level 8 or 9. However, even at level 1, their duration is slightly higher than their cooldown, which makes them great.
In later phases of the game, I just put them fucking everywhere, try to make sure they're on cooldown as much as possible.

Everything about the fiddles rework is so perfectly on-point and it's made him one of my favorite champs ever since. His gameplay loop fits into his narrative hook in an ideal way that delivers *_EXACTLY_* what players expect, but without going overboard on mechanics.
-A kit that gives IRL players feel a constant sense of dread about what hides in the dark while in-game characters run for their lives
-Aesthetics and special effects blending into the right balance of unsettling and unfamiliar, without disrupting visual clarity
-The voice acting gives life to this idea of an ancient horror learning to speak through audible mimicry of its prey's final moments before it strikes
-Even the voice lines heard while playing as fiddles are just terrifying. These small, tiny little insights that make you realize he's been haunting those lands for a long, *loooong* time.
The greatest thing about Fiddlesticks' rework is that it was an HD-Rework. Now, let me define that phrase a little, an HD-Rework is a type of rework where instead of throwing out the champion's old kit and building them from the ground up, aka what I call a Ground-Up-Rework, they instead simply take what made the old kit either good or fun, and polish it to a mirror shine. Another good example of this style of rework is Warwick. To quote Skooch, "He went from a gank heavy skirmisher with great catch potential, to a gank heavy skirmisher with great catch potential, in HD", meaning his play style hadn't changed even if his kit did. Another way to put it is that, despite being reworked, fundamentally, Fiddlesticks and Warwick were still Fiddlesticks and Warwick, the former was still a looming threat past level 6 along with being a massive jumpscare just waiting to scare the absolute shit out of you if you didn't ward correctly, and the latter was still a gank machine that will jump your ass the second you drop to low health and live through the dumbest fights and 1v1s if you don't build any anti-healing.
These are the reasons why everyone LOVED these reworks, and abso-fucking-lutely HATED the Akali and Aatrox reworks, the former for being broken beyond belief, and the latter for stripping away his old identity and making him a male Riven, but sustain.

@Will he bonk ya in the choclate factory?? I know that's what Riot calls things like this, but to me, VGU is too broad a term. A "Visual Gameplay Update" doesn't really tell all that much about the specifics of the rework. And yeah, you can go right ahead and say "Well it's an update to the visuals and gameplay," and while you would TECHNICALLY be correct, the term VGU just isn't specific enough. Take Caitlyn, who we've seen in the TFT teaser to be getting an update to her base model's visual design and animations to more match her themes and character in the lore and Legends Of Runeterra, rather than looking like a stripper cosplay. You COULD call that a VGU, but to me, it's JUST a visual change, as her kit and gameplay will most likely remain untouched. Where as with full-on Reworks, it helps far more to specify which type of rework was used (like an HD-Rework or a Ground-Up Rework), rather than the broad, but somewhat uninformative VGU.

im not gonna lie, Fiddle is the ENTIRE reason I got into League. His lore and his design are so fucking cool and scary and i knew i wanted to play as him. He's so much fun to play.

This reminded me one time in Urf, i thought the random fiddlesticks infront of me was an effigy because I saw it appear a bit after what i assumed its oracles going off, the moment i got into range of triggering the random animation he ulted me and destroyed me because I thought it was a fake.

I love this video. Fiddlesticks is insanely underrated and a very good champion from a design and gameplay standpoint. He is very unique though, which is probably why he's so rare.
I love fiddlesticks so much. both before and after rework. Before rework I played him as a support now I play him as a jungler. So whenever I got autofill jungler I'll always go for Fiddlesticks. He's so fun.
any one else rember the weird sound fiddlesticks would make with his basic attack. Also amazing video I think i'm going to enjoy this series.
I recently started playing a lot of fiddle, and I was amazed on how well you explained his kit, strengths and weaknesses and were most of his power comes from (macro and vision control), I also loved that you mentioned how he can be terrifying to enemy team if they don't know where he is, which is the most fun thing on this champ, and fits super well with his theme, very good video, hope to see more in the future.

As someone who heavily played old Fiddle I hate the rework mostly due to his W changes, sure the E is annoying to hit now but the W just does so much less damage that you struggle as your job as the jungler because your single target damage is now from your Q instead of your W when your W is the thing you use the most.
Ever since Fiddle rework got released, I fell in love with it. Before his release, I used to play Evelynn, when the team needed AP jungle, but nowadays, I lock in Fiddle even if we don't lack AP. His new thematic, his kit, his terror, everything is on point, they nailed it really really well, just like with Jhin. He is finally scary, a god damn demon, his kit is fun to use, it's really fun to play him!

In my humble opinion, Fiddles and Jhin are PERFECT champs in every way. I play both, I'm pretty bad at Fiddles tho. But whenever you play as them, you can easily get into their skin and you EAT the lore into your gameplay. If you're doing it right, you wanna make perfect kills with Jhin and he allows you to it. You wanna scare the fuck out of people with Fiddles, and he has every tool to do so. They nailed them at concept, lore, skillset, design, voice lines, sound effects, overall gameplay. They deserve a chef kiss.

new fiddlesticks is a really fantastic rework. aesthetically and lore wise, his new design is among the coolest and most unique in the game, and gameplay wise he now has so much more of a cohesive and compelling kit.
all this being said, i really miss old fiddlesticks. support fiddlesticks was one of my favorite picks in the game, because hiding in the bushes until you see an opportunity to jump out and mess with the enemy botlane. his kill potential in lane wasnt crazy or anything, but what made him fun was the fact that you could do pretty decently with him while still just kinda goofing off. hexflashing out of bushes and getting a sudden burst of movespeed from both his old passive and from runes was super good for jumpscaring your enemies even at level 2 when all you can actually do with it is fear and silence. while new fiddle is genuinely really scary, i miss the campy, goofy, halloween spookiness of old fiddlesticks. i wish there was some way for the two to coexist, but i suppose if only one can exist new fiddlesticks is definitely a better fit for the game

I remember old fiddle being picked into lee sin and then without fail invaded pre6 and lee healed fiddle. Also old fiddle E was the thing that made lane fiddle a menace.

I played LoL barely any a long time ago, loved Fiddlesticks before, I'm kinda excited to get back in and relearn Fiddlesticks, he looks so much more fun and easy enough to hop back into with abit of research.
This was awesome. I'm a sub-30 player with very little in-game experience and I literally bought fiddlesticks two weeks ago cause I admired his character so much. He's frustrating to learn sometimes, especially because I'm still learning camp reset boundaries and figuring out how to play around my passives, but he's super rewarding when he works.

First character I loved in LoL and got me into the game yeaaaaaars ago. Haven't played in ages, getting back into it and well.... back 2 Fiddle.
Fiddlesticks and the modern demons in general are really well designed imo. Their lore and gameplay meshes extremely well together, creating that sweet fantasy gameplay that scratches the right itch of expectation of players going into playing a champion. Like, both lore and game Evelynn pretty much kills her target in the most gruesome way if she manages to charm them. Both lore and game Tahm Kench bides his time, building up on his target (stacks) before devouring them. Lore and game Fiddlesticks need just that tiny bit of fear in its target's heart to reap that sweet sweet reward. It's amazing.
The only thing I missed from old Fiddlesticks besides trashing the opposing bot lane with crows is that his ult now does damage at 0.5 second intervals instead of 0.25. Just isnt the same when the enemies health bar doesnt look like its melting.
I love fiddle. Play him mid a lot because I adore his thematic and gameplay.
Having a heal on a mage is great. I love his ult. Jumpscaring is awesome.

I’d love to see a video like “Why you have to One Trick: Rengar” or Kha, Singed, or another similar champ. Champs that need OneTricks are really interesting, and those who do main those champions are super crazy in how they play!

I love super ultimate champions, like Fiddle, Kennen, and Malz.
Because of their immense power, higher skill is heavily rewarded - which I find incredibly satisfying. I think they're good champs for learning the game because you need to learn macro to not be useless, and the long cooldown of their ultimates teaches you patience. You need to make big decisions sometimes, like letting 2 or 3 allies die as Fiddle or Kennen in order to be in a position to 1v5 oneshot.
7:45 You forgot the greatest, most well-known mage in the jungle: Gragas! This man is the epitome of a well-designed champion. His theme meshes perfectly with his kit. From his booze-empowered rage to his arsenal of explosive kegs, he's got a ton to offer. He's basically just the better lux, what can I say? His crisp, clean animations, and his amazing skins are truly a testament to riot's design capabilities.

@@VarsVerum He builds mage stuff, zhonya's, deathcap, etc. And whether he's a mage or not, the man is an absolute chad.
5:37 I found this opinion about skins pretty interesting, as it applies to a lot of skins but not all of them. For example if you look at someone like Aurelion Sol, you'll see the complete opposite, the default having very explosive and satisfying sound effects, and you will feel like you're doing a lot more with the default one compared to the Ashen Lord skin (haven't played with his other 2 skins much, but I'm pretty sure this still applies).
Anyways, I'd definitely like to see you make a video covering skins in a game design perspective. What makes a skin good or bad, and what does a skin need to achieve? You could also bring up some well designed skins and some not so well designed ones.
love his effigy passive, plus since fiddle feeds on fear, just plop one of these down and anyone who gets spooked automatically feeds him fear (lore wise), I think, does he have to be in the general vicinity to feed off of their fear

I love the visual rework and passive of new Fiddlesticks but gameplay wise his reworked kit forces you to play him jungle and I enjoyed playing him as a pocket pick mid or as a counter pick support for the reliable silence. I don't know if this is important but to me, he just doesn't feel like a mage anymore

Getting Khazix ulti on fiddle sticks in Ultimate Spellbook is fucking insane.
Because his passive profs while invisible.
You can even fear someone by your ulti by turning invisible and walking into them.
Hoping to see Volibear here. His new ult is possibly the most satisfying ult in the game and his kit, I feel, really cemented his "demi-god brawler" feeling.
I loved the old voli. Missing the good old times where I was stomping bot with a friend playing singed ;(

Middle ground Champs that belong here should be enough to cover almost the entire remaining roster of champions. Nobody plays, Everybody plays, and Perfectly Designed should be able to fit most if not all champs on your channel.
Thinking you can do a WNOP for Zac. And Galio but I'm not sure if they are actually unpopular.
As for here I'm thinking people along the lines of TF, Oriana, and other perfectly fair champs that you don't really ban all that much but aren't so sad to see when picked. People like Zilean and Lulu can go here too, I think.
So I've figured out the issue with Reworked Fiddlesticks, it's his W, it doesn't do increased damage when it only targets a single enemy, it should be like Mord Q.
This would result in him being better at Dragon, Baron, Buffs and Froggy, while in general not making a large difference to fights as alot of the time a minion will be near by.
i miss old Fiddle the reworked Fiddle is still the same champion unlike some other champions like Yorick Mordekaiser so Yorick now still summons stuff but because of his high damage on Q he doesn't need his summons for everything the recent change to his E makes him feel like what he is supposed to be but if there was a full summoner champion who only had summons like old Yorick except different it would be fun imagine a summoner who would summon stuff and wouldn't rely on dumb AI and by that i mean the champion could still have a skill shot let's say but the skill shot looks like his summons or something idk how to say it but it also does something else then just be a skillshot yes there is Heimer who summons turrets but they are stationary yes there is Malzahar but that's not the point of the champion yes there is the "new" Yorick but he is still a bruiser with abilities that don't represent the summoning aspect of the champion and well old Mordekaiser was a totally different champion from the "new" one basically a champion who is totally lost he became from this "have fun do whatever you want" champion to "ye tanky AP bruiser thing doesn't really work with anything else" and it's just not fun how riot does not care about that right after the Mordekaiser rework was the Pantheon rework that kept almost everything in his a blocking ability yes an ability where you throw the spear? yes a point and click stun that jumps on the target? yes a damage AoE ability that is just for AoE? yes a semi global ult that he travels with? yes it just proved that they can keep the same champion just make the champion more polished for the game that is constantly changing riot is really not making good decisions for example not telling that Seraphine and her kit were made for wild rift so people wouldn't complain about her kit ye there still would the she is Sona and her ultimate skin but riot made KDA and it was so good but sure the new KDA skins were nice the songs were just ok and the KDA Seraphine has no point so moral of the story is riot should make KDA Gragas just like they made star guardian Urgot and no one should of read about me complaining about riot games and their game also TFT Valorant and LoR seem pretty balanced and are making the good decisions unlike LoL

ngl Fiddlesticks hits hard when having BFG division 2020 in the background
Nice analysis of one of my mains. At the beginning it was hard to get used to the rework even if only the passive and the e were new. Old e was really fun, but so inconsistent in terms of damage and frustrating with the bounces (sometimes they will go to minions or just they would bounce just once). The w damage and heal was disgusting, but you were pretty much standing still for five seconds. And his w being the only consistent damage was too much of a drawback. Q with no damage. The ultimate was pretty useless most of the times.
And they gave us consistent life percentage damage in q and w, a nice e with slow plus silence (even fear if it triggers passive), a nice passive with the fear.
Some people complains about the new w, it makes more sense 2 of channeling seconds instead of 5 and being multi target allows to insane jungler clear and damage (that sweet final tick). Finally, Riot gave him more armour and hp.
And it is interesting how he has great drawbacks that makes him a champion with counterplay (squishy, low mobility, bad early exposed to be invaded). And how his skill ceiling raised thanks to the power of his trinkets, as you need a lot of macro play knowledge to fully utilise it, while being very much the same (the e is harder to hit, but it has a nice range and speed). And it is fun how you have to master positioning and ambushing with the fear and tricket passive and the channeling of your r.
And it is nice how they managed to make an ambush mage kit work. I think teemo is the only one who could also be considered as that.

I have started maining Fiddlesticks since his rework and i don't regret.
Best designed passive in the game imo, like it's simple but the sheer mind games you can pull off and the way it rewards being clever is where I wish Riot would try to go instead of making abilities look like the side effects of a pharmaceutical ad. Immergent complexity is my favorite part of games though.

That old Fiddlesticks was an amazing support because of that crow. If there were no minions it just bounced back and forth between the arc and the support

It's worth noting that Q is not instant though. It has a 0.363s cast time.
His fear conditions are bullshit. He can still fear me after seeing him get out of the bush.
I consider this to be the perfect rework (even better than Warwick that transformed my favorite champion in a beast and was released on my actual birthday). Thematically and gameplay wise the rework was fantastic.
