Here's my explanation of the red cards, Andika's last ditch challenge was cynical, straight red. Rachmat threw the ball at someone's head, Arm locked someone at the neck and pushed him. Definitely unsportsmanlike and a deserved 2nd yellow. Ricky was penalized for arm locking at the neck with Narakhon and he deserved the 2nd yellow. William was careless with his words and the referee felt he deserved a 2nd yellow.

The referee was too critical with William. How did you know the line judge was right? Many a time we see from VAR the referees are totally wrong. What was he (William) supposed to do if he was confident the line judge was wrong? The game would end within less than one minute from that point. If the referee let the game continue without giving another yellow to William, there would be no such an incident. It was the referee who stopped the game to send William off. And the situation escalated from that. Why? He wanted to show off his power.

Lately, Indonesia has always been in wrangling on the pitch when playing against Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand, but surprisingly it rarely happens on the pitch against Malaysia. Although they are not very good to each other. Except for Indonesian and Malaysian supporters on the sidelines, there will be issues amongst themselves.
Among all teams you mentioned above, i would say Malaysia is the coolest headed team. As you can see in Malaysia vs Thailand match, Malaysian players were being fouled/provoked many times by Thai players but they were not protesting and resume the game instead. Meanwhile Indonesian players are easily emotional when getting provoked esp from a stronger team. My calculation is, cold temperature will cool down the hot one.
Actually most teams would not like to play Indonesia, bcoz of their rude and unsportsmanlike attitude

As a Thai here is my take for the game as a whole
After Thailand first goal, we start to "Drag the game / Waste the time" now remember that we took lead in extra time already, so this is not an uncommon tactic.
Personally, this tactic annoyed me as it's not fun to watch - but just put your shoes into Thai team, imagine instead of slowing down, we decided to keep pressing and got countered, you know the comeback goal will have an higher impact in term of morale and possibly turn the whole game around
I could also imagine the hatred from Thai public that will goes to Thai team if they lose the game
- "You already take lead why don't you play safe blah blah blah"
Then obviously, Indonesian players became more and more agitated - now if you look at tactic wise - Indonesian fell into our trap
Even though, we won the game, public opinions also varies :
Some only cares about the result
Some said our composure are pathetic - especially #11, just got sub in 10-15 mins ago and got 2 yellow ? some straight up called him dumb and stupid
Some said our team lack professionalism
All and all, both teams got something to learn from this game and this is what happen when you let emotion took over

Here the expectation for the national team has been set too high, mostly by media blow-ups, denying the fact that Indonesia need much more time (after FIFA sanctions and COVID) to recover the national team power. Most Indonesians just eager to win any cup without enough patience. We keep hiring expensive coach, naturalizing good players just to put more pressure on the national team, as if it is the only factor of our football industry growth. Honestly it's toxic man. it was disgraceful… to the referee.. both sides did what they had to do.. to win the honour.. with such a game with lots of passion and emotions, it’s totally unacceptable for the referee get deeply involved emotionally.. it all started off with the first Thai player getting sent off for complaining.. A professional referee would have handled it much differently especially for finals when stakes are high for the both teams… that is dealing with situations professionally and de-escalating tensions whenever he can.. getting the teams to focus on actually footballing than indirectly encouraging confrontation..
Second, I’m seeing lots of comments about violent behaviours of Indonesian players. No doubt violent and unprofessional players should be punished.. and for the referee, he should have recognised that the Thai players are trying to show dissent when there striker is hurt. About 4 of them marching towards the Indonesian defender. If the referee recognises this in a timely manner and have stopped the Thai from confronting further, a fight would not have occurred..
