On behalf of Ranger boat owners everywhere thank you for the great video. I wish I had seen it 2 weeks ago when I was struggling mightily trying to get 1 AT transducer wire down that gosh darn tight rightside gunnel. Now I know how to go through the box insert since you showed us how to do it. Thanks Marc!

I can relate to your trouble and wish someone had told me about this years ago! This is so much easier and better! Thank you for watching and commenting.

Thank you for posting Marc. This gave me the confidence to install my Active Target.

Being a network engineer before I a retired, I can share another tip. Purchase some “cable lube” and lube up the tape “IF” you do have room to pull through existing conduit. Lube up the taped portion and a good length of cable, it will make pulling the cable much easier. Great job as always sir!

Excellent tip. Another way would have been to pull out all the existing cables and reinsert them one at a time, starting with the cables with the largest connectors first.

Dielectric grease is another option. If for some reason the cable coating gets compromised with the pulling and pushing the grease at least won't damage the bare wires.

I had the same issue with connecting the transducer. I had to take the module off the wall to get the transducer connected. In fact I did bend a couple pins but not badly. Was able to get them back in place and then the transducer slid on correctly. Then mounted back on the wall. Thx for the video.

You are welcome. Hopefully our experience will prevent others from damaging the pins and having to replace the transducers. Thank you for watching!

My HDS live does not recognize the AT2. Did all updates (23.3) and the AT layout changed as well but my AT layout still says „no source“. Any more things to do? Box has power; HDS knows their is tue box, sonar sound is noticeable but I can not get an image. Any ideas? :)

This problem usually occurs if you previously had an AT1 that your unit is looking for ( and can't find).
To fix, go to Settings, Sonar, Installation, Restore Defaults.

I think you need to select the source as AT2. Might be set on AT1

Do you plan on posting videos of them both running at the same time on the water?

Hi Kyle, Yes, I will be making videos of both in action, though it will take a little time. Tried to video the other day, but the wind didn't cooperate and ruined the quality of the video.

Where did you run the chassis ground wire to , for the corrosion ?
