I’m an Iranian married to a wonderful American woman. I just want to see happy loving relationships no matter of race or gender or ethnicity. I will take happy and loving and caring relationships over what society have told us what’s normal relationships between heterosexual

What an elegant interview of Zoya and Alix. I hope more people would share their journey because it is culturally enriching and timely. I would love more people to experience the culture of Iran, Persian American culture, and their deeply hospitable sentiment they have.
My best friend was a Persian American who helped many LGBQ people escape Iran and enter the USA on LGBTQ asylum through a very famous oranization. His family is Jewish in Iran and his father was a democracy leaned publisher who was arrested by the government, labeled as anti Persian. His father was in prison for a very long time until he fell ill and released. Anti LGBTQ sentiment got stronger in Iran and it became unsafe for my friend. He had to leave his parents in Iran although he was the only child, and entered the USA on LGBTQ asylum himself. His father died not long after leaving his mother with little to go by.
I met my Persian gay friend when he was at his lowest point when he was housed in a suicide watch dual diagnosis home operated by a proficient organization founded by Dr. Tato Torrez (America's top doctor in helping tortured victims). I tried to be his best friend and we really trusted each other. I am well known in Japan to have expanded the import of Super Green Persian pistachio in Japan. Because of my keen interest to get to know Iran, I visited the pistachio farmers and even vacationed to Egypt to pay respect to the Shah's huge burial ground, like a monument.
My Persian friend loved Japanese old films and because I used to produce Japanese animation, and loved to cook Persian food, we were in my kitchen together all the time. We were like brother and sister.
Shortly after, he fell into a some kind of self medicating pattern.
He was without proper finances and took off on a vacation to Arizona, where he attended university many years ago, then flew to Europe. I called him but couldn't get hold of him. I had no idea he was in Europe. I don't know why, but he flew into Iran and found his mother surviving in a small humble place and ended his life in front of his mother. His Persian American professor in Arizona told me everything.
Being LGBQ Persian and doing an LGBTQ asylum into the USA with parents and relatives still left in Iran is emotionally hard. I don't think he had the support of Persian American community like Zoya does.
So, even today, when I hear about a Persian LGBQ asylum immigrant here in San Francisco, I do my at most best to try to accommodate everything. I try double harder.
    So,
Thank you for sharing this video and doing such a beautiful job in editing it and articulating Zoya's beauty.
Our LGBTTQQIAPN community look forward to getting hold of the vegan fish and Zoya's book. I hope Mr Taster, world class food critique from Iran, currently zi believe is living in Dubai will cross paths professionally. It would be interesting to see him eat Zoya's product in a nice restaurant in his channel.
Much love to all of you in here. Hopefully, we will meet at an event.
