The One & Only the Exceptionally Great Flanker, Sri Lankan Rugby has ever produced to-date was none other than the Supreme Star Legend Hisham Abdeen. The Bionic Man, Hisham Abdeen effortlessly caught/tackled star players in the caliber of Chandrishan Perera, Simon Hunter, the fierce Fijians/Samoans and other foreign players with his blistering speed runs/techniques. Hisham Abdeen was faster than some of the Key Wingers & Centers in the line, although his main role of play was in the position as Flanker in the pack. Whenever, there was a scrum close to the oppositions try line then Hisham Abdeen, switches positions from Flanker to No:08 and in many occasions, he scored a try through his fiery power play, which is still unmatched to-date.
