Thank You for the video, only one question, in domination mode step 12: Start the game: Play proceeds clockwise. Clockwise what? the higher roller or the first house (Stark)? The choosing of the house only determine the initial order setup of the pieces, gold, and territory cards, and then proceeds clockwise the high roller? Although the high roller player has chosen, for example, the house number three.
You are supposed to play the turns in the order of the houses or give the bonus to the players that play after. For example if u decide with the roll that Lannister is first, Martell second, Stark third, Baratheon fourth and Tyrell last, you will give the bonus to sStark Baratheon and Tyrell instead of how the game says Lannister Tyrell and Martell

Thanks for the comprehensive video. This Risk has some interesting ideas, the difference in the skirmish phase stands out to me. The only drawbacks I see are the mostly unimaginative army pieces (only 2 unique bust pieces that are the same for all armies and special units being tokens is meh) and card art (like LOTR Risk at least had some thematic screenshots from the movies on them).
In Skirmish mode does the Valar Morgulis card come into effect after it is revealed at the top of the deck, or after the player completes their turn and is able to pick it up? Just seems unfair because the player who gets to act out their turn has a huge advantage to win the game.
I'm confused by the "turn order" and "play continues clockwise" are they expecting you to sit clockwise in that specific order, or is "turn order" only for the bonuses?
Does anyone find the 'Pirate Ship Fleet' Maester card to be massively over-powered? 100 gold lets you attack almost anywhere on the board!! (You can see this card in the video at 24:12)
Any time I play 2-3 player skirmish we run out of pieces so we have to use other army pieces, don’t understand how come they don’t just make more pieces for this game. Ran into that a couple times in the old risk game but was rare, this one though seems to happen a lot
I agree. I’ve played this game 3 times with a wide array of different people and we never had time to finish. We played Skirmish, Dominion AND World at War, you often find yourself running out of pieces and after a while you just get tired.
Hi, Just wondering, on the very first turn, does the first player reinforce their armies and then move to the attach phase? We tried this and it seemed that the person who had first turn often was able to attack a lot more points on the map and often even took over territories before anyone else was able to reinforce and defend properly?...Is this how it should work or should everyone reinforce first go? Thanks
+Jonathan Meldrum The Rules allow for this. The start of risk is always awkward. In 12:46 you atk all 3 enemy territory at once with the your total die or you roll the die after the other territory then the last territory each time?
So I have a question. Say I take 3 out of my 6 guys from one of my territory's to invade and battle my opponents territory who only has two armies left. I roll three dice and defeat both of my opponents armies. Now I MUST take at least 3 armies I committed to battle into that conquered territory because I rolled 3 diced, that makes sense. So say I decide to bring in 2 more of my army men that held the territory I just attacked from. Would this count as a reinforcement and end my turn? Or can I continue with my attack phase elsewhere on the board.
You can only go in with the 3 that attacked and won. Only these 3 can continue to attack inward. Only at the end of game can you maneuver more armies into won territories.
@@elizabethbeal5406 Old post, but I want to clarify: No, you may let as many men from the attacking directory into the one you conquered. And IMHO you can then continue attacking from there. But keep in mind, that you will loose troop in the process and that every new territory needs one to stand the ground.
Do you have to use Essos houses on Essos and vice versa? Seems like you can change out which ever house youd like for each map. I.e. you could play targaryen in Westeros if you really wanted or Lannister in Essos
Ross Olinger i think you can’t because the seats of power are designated on specific region of the board. Lannister is on essos so you can only start there.

First, sorry for my english but i need explanations. You say you can get 2 additional armies at 9:02 but is it 2 for each territories (so x6) or just 2 to put on one of the 3 territories (or 1 and 1 obviously) ? And is it forced to control all the 3 territories with the corresponding cards or if you control just one you put the 2 armies ? And then i don't understand how the "more than five cards" works and the trading in general, where do you put the cards ? Back in the deck ? Under it or at the top ? Thank you
Something I've recently gotten confused about, is one part of the Risk game that goes for alle the games I guess. It is if you can attack other terretories from two (or more) different terretories in a si gle attack phase/round, or if all of your attacks must come from the SAME terretory. The rules state that you can attack from wherever you eant each round, but they also state that you "can only attack from one terretory at a time" which I suppose could both mean that you can only use one terretory as an attack terretory per round, as well as meaning that you can't attack with troops from two terretories at the same time (which you obviously can't). My family have always played with the ruke that you must choose ONE single terretory per round and only use that to attack from (attacking all the surrounding terretories of course) per round. Unfortunately, I've only ever played the game with people that learned it from me, so if I missinterpreted the rules. Thanks for helping me out!
OK you basically cleared this up in the span of ten seconds after I left the comment, thanks. I guess I've always been playing it quite wrong thrn (except from the mobile app I've played on before ehich I always assumed was playing by som weird rules lol). I think I actually like my way of doing it betted, as it makes the game feel more strategic (you need to find the best possible place to attack from) and you don't have to defend terretories that do not border the enemy, as they can only reach the territories they border in one turn. Lol
There is a way around the legit rules for attacking. Territory A is being attacked from Territories 1,2,3. If the attacker alternates attacks from Territory 1,2,3 declaring retreat after every dice roll you will remain within the rules. However you will only be able to move troops from the territory that was the last to roll (assuming you won the battle.) I think the rule of 'not combining attacks' has to be there, because the rule 'you can keep attacking after battle' exists. Each team would turn into one 'mass' pretty quick if they were allowed to combine armies on attack.
Do you know if something is wrong with the card of Davos from house Baratheon? In Spanish the text is contradicted. Can you let me know what it say in English? Thank you so much
English version: 'Davos Seaworth - Play when you declare an invasion against a territory with a port. Add 1 to all attack dice for the duration of the invasion.'
I hope you reply, I have a few queries. 1) I have 6 troops in high garden, enemy has 3 in red mountain I move 3 troops into red mountain, defender defends with 2 troops. I roll 6 2 1 defender roll 5 3 We both lose a troop each. I now have 2 troops and defender has 2 troops. Can I attack again with the 2 currently in red mountains? Or do I have to bring 2 more from high garden? 2)Lets assume I cannot attack, its now my turn again, there are 3 troops still in high garden and there are still 2 and 2 troops in red mountain. Can I move my 2 troops back to high garden? Can I attack from inside 2 v 2 like a power struggle? Can I send 1 from High Garden and attack with 3 (2 at RM +1 from HG)? 3)Assuming I could not attack again from 1) and if I cannot move my troops away from RM like in 2) how do I use those troops? 4)Can I move troops into a territory without attacking? i.e. contesting the territory not allowing my opponent to collect their reinforcement points from that territory? 5)Can I make as many movements from a single territory to many territories? example. I have 11 troops in red mountain. I can attack sandstone, greenblood, marshes, high garden, three towers with 2 troops each (1 remaining)?
Awesome explanation, I played skirmish yesterday and I saw I was wrong with a few things: how territories you control can be extra reinforced if you have the territory card. And also regions add army pieces instead of points to the territory+castle count. I have a question, hope you can clear it out, I had this argument with a friend because we were not sure how to proceed: When you invade, you can only do so with maximum of three armies right? Say if you control that territory you can now declare another invasion with the armies left from the battle (given there's one behind)? My friend was telling me that you can invade with as many pieces as you like but only 3 maximum can fight.
Invade with a max of three armies at a time. If you win, you can bring any armies left over, from the territory you attacked with, to join your forces in the territory you just took over. After you've finished deciding how many armies came with you to the new territory, you can then attack somewhere else with any armies you have on the board, including the ones that just moved.
MrHarumakiSensei right, I understand that. So, let's say I attacked from territory A to territory B. I won, so I brought reinforcements from A to B, and immediately I'll invade territory C from territory B. Is this allowed?
+Isaac Campos Yep! That's the whole point of Risk. You can then keep going after that if you want. If you have a big enough army, you can wipe out half the board in one turn!
Some of the rules don't seem to explain everything.1 is can you trade in more than 1 territory card to obtain more than 1 special unit?2nd can you manuaver your special unit?3rd is can you buy as many objective cards as you want like the muester cards?I only played dominion mode once and quickly found some issues that the rules don't specify lol almost like the people who made the game never played it.
Question: SKIRMISH setup: when dealing territory cards during setup, do you start with the high roller and deal the territory cards in clockwise fashion, or do you deal in order of each players' die roll?
I have a question about each player's turn to play : Should player Stark invade, maneuver, then when one's over let Baratheon invade, maneuver, and so on and at the END OF EVERYONE'S TURN, count territories and earn gold and infantry + reinforce ? OR Stark reinforces with infantry one JUST earned after everyone else attacked them, THEN : invades, maneuvers, earns infantry, and then we go to the next player ? I just don't know if it's really one by one or if we all earn gold and count our territories and stuff ALL together at the end Thank you !
How are Special Units eliminated? If you retreat from an attacker will those special units retreat with your men too? As an attacker, will the Special Unit return to the country in which the attack came from due to a failed attack attempt?
About reinforcements, do you count the amount of castles and terrein each turn or is this step only at the beginning? If you have all of one terrein you gain extra troops, but how many, the amount indicated on the board? If during battle person A attacks with 3 troops, and person B defends with 2 and the result is both lose one each, may you attack again the remaining troops of B with remaining troops of A? If someone only has one troop left in all their lands, it seems they cannot play their turn and can only defend on enemy turns, is this correct?
GunProof Grandad In Skirmish you use all of your pieces because in Skirmish cards tell you where to put armies. In Dominion however, you start with 24 starting armies in 5 player game and you put them one by one wherever you want to. But you still use the rest of armies after putting these ones.
hi, can you confirm that the mayday 56x87 standard uses size are good for game of thrones risk cards? because on the mayday site they suggest chimera (57,5x89)
There isn't one. These are not meant to be something that happens each turn. It is only for the setup of the game as a balancing due to the fact that the houses getting bonuses also go later in the round than the others, and thus will have less territories for bonuses at the beginning of their first turn. So since Stark and Baratheon go first, they don't get a bonus.
I have a question that bothers me and no other video explains it.. Is the the 3 unit-army considered a one attacking troop or three and do I roll the three dies in order to attack with just this one? And the second question can I attack the same area multiple times in one attacking turn? Please answer I really need this.. Thank you in advance :)
The big army piece represents 3 armies therefore you roll all three die. It's just to save room on the game board. Yes you can attack the same area multiple times in one turn as long as you have enough army pieces.
I have a question instead of using the cards to determine where you are going to put your troops in the beginning of the game, can you just choose your own territories? this way your troops aren't as scattered and obtaining a region is easier....
Question: SKIRMISH, 6 player game. 48 Westeros + 34 Essos cards = 82 total territory cards. 82 cards/6 players = 13 cards per player + 4 extra territory cards. Which 4 players get an extra card, and which 2 players get the shaft?
Mark Alanis the 2 players who take their turn first don't get extra cards as they are able to reinforce and attack immediately which gives an unfair advantage, hence the extra territories for the 3 players who take their turns last
I'm trying to set up a 3 player skirmish and it says to deal out all territories and and place 2 armies on each. But no one has enough units to do this.
Daniel Foale I actually scoured the internet and found a product manager from the manufacturer who said to do that exactly. And that future printings of the rule book will be corrected
Hey, In Dominion mode, if I turn in an objective card (Control five castles) and win 1 VP, and then in subsequent turn lose the castle, will I also lose the VP?? Pls clarify
I have a doubt based all in World Ward mode, at the beginning ITS says "Follow the rules and victory conditions Previously Described for skirmish and dominiom " , then in the Winning part ITS says: "All other rules for skirmish or Dominion game play applys " So , What do i need for winning in World At Ward mode ?? Case 1 : I need to Have Control of my Seat of Power plus the 10 victory points. Case 2: I only need 10 victory points, this based on the last text at the winning part That says " For World at war , the first player to earn 10 victory points wins"
If you don't understand, you can always just make your own rules xD. I prefer getting all the leader's heads as a winning goal, but that'd take forever
Daniel Rojas Delgado well world at war includes either Skirmish OR Dominion. You pick one of these 2 game modes and you try to complete the objective of that CHOSEN game mode.
Can someone help me with some rules. Do special units abilities stack with character cards? So can someone effectively roll a 10 with a Knight and a character card that adds 1 and a trebuchet which allows the eight sided dice. My sister someone feels that the wording 'this card ALLOWS' you to do something doesn't mean you have to, so she says if you have the knights with your army, you don't have to use them, or the eight sided dice if you don't want to. So if you have special units do you have to use them? My sister hates the eight sided dice, she says she can pick and choose when to use that ability. I'm like... Why the hell would you place it with your army if you didn't want to use it. I think the rulebook leaves too much to interpretation.
Does the game end card have to be drawn or like it says upon reveal? everyone seems to think you have to draw the card but whats the point of not giving it a back to keep it hidden?
Question about the character cards. Will character cards stay active for the entire turn throughout second, third, or more invasions/attacks? OR is the character card only active for one single dice roll, or only one attack on a single country? Asking because of a debate that come up. If the Lanisters controlled a single weapon or two they could sweep the world pretty easily. For example, you can choose to use only one die to use when attacking as part of the standard rules, roll only the eight sided die, activate the character card to set the 8 sided to its highest attack roll ALWAYS, and then plus two??? Come on it's impossible to beat and completly unfair.
Hi, how are You? I am working on creating the Game of Thrones Deluxe Edition of Risk by myself. Unfortunately I am missing the descriptions of the maester-cards... Thank you
Of course under the deck bro cmmon if no you will keep gettin the same cards each time you have to redeem a card territory
How do you handle taking over territories with neutral units on them?
Am I allowed to reinforce (add armies to my territories) each turn until I run out, or only on my first turn?

Thank you so much
English version:
'Davos Seaworth - Play when you declare an invasion against a territory with a port. Add 1 to all attack dice for the duration of the invasion.'
Thank you!
De nada. ;)
So if I have a 3 army piece and am attacking can I use all three armies or only two?
I hope you reply, I have a few queries.
1) I have 6 troops in high garden, enemy has 3 in red mountain
I move 3 troops into red mountain, defender defends with 2 troops.
I roll 6 2 1
defender roll 5 3
We both lose a troop each.
You can still attack with one troop. You have to leave the other one to keep your
control of high garden
Awesome explanation, I played skirmish yesterday and I saw I was wrong with a few things: how territories you control can be extra reinforced if you have the territory card. And also regions add army pieces instead of points to the territory+castle count.
I have a question, hope you can clear it out, I had this argument with a friend because we were not sure how to proceed:
When you invade, you can only do so with maximum of three armies right?
+Isaac Campos
Yep! That's the whole point of Risk. You can then keep going after that if you want. If you have a big enough army, you can wipe out half the board in one turn!
MrHarumakiSensei thanks!
Is the sent of Power equal to 5 armies in Dominion Mode ?
Hi ! I got the skirmish edition and it only has the cards of the territory and army pieces :( i didnt know there's another version of it
Is there "westeros edition" on it ?
great,,thank u
I bought this game but it's skirmish edition how do I get dominion
Pj Ryan they are one game box, you bought the game and should have all the peices, it just comes with a lot of prices that are not used in skirmish
Queen Cersei I only have 1 board and says skirmish edition on the box and only has troops and territory cards
Pj Ryan that's weird, mine has both. I guess there are two editions.
Thank you
Question: SKIRMISH setup: when dealing territory cards during setup, do you start with the high roller and deal the territory cards in clockwise fashion, or do you deal in order of each players' die roll?
hi. i would like to ask you something. How many maester cards I could use by each invasion?
I have a question about each player's turn to play :
Should player Stark invade, maneuver, then when one's over let Baratheon invade, maneuver, and so on and at the END OF EVERYONE'S TURN, count territories and earn gold and infantry + reinforce ?
OR
Stark reinforces with infantry one JUST earned after everyone else attacked them, THEN : invades, maneuvers, earns infantry, and then we go to the next player ?
I just don't know if it's really one by one or if we all earn gold and count our territories and stuff ALL together at the end
Thank you !
How are Special Units eliminated? If you retreat from an attacker will those special units retreat with your men too?
As an attacker, will the Special Unit return to the country in which the attack came from due to a failed attack attempt?
As far as I know defenders cannot retreat. cheers
Can you maneuver through ports?
As long as youre maneuvering to a port of similar color
About reinforcements, do you count the amount of castles and terrein each turn or is this step only at the beginning? If you have all of one terrein you gain extra troops, but how many, the amount indicated on the board? If during battle person A attacks with 3 troops, and person B defends with 2 and the result is both lose one each, may you attack again the remaining troops of B with remaining troops of A? If someone only has one troop left in all their lands, it seems they cannot play their turn and can only defend on enemy turns, is this correct?
The rule set is super similar to the godstorm version of risk
In a 5 player skirmish match how many piece do we start with? Somehow Lost my instructions
GunProof Grandad In Skirmish you use all of your pieces because in Skirmish cards tell you where to put armies. In Dominion however, you start with 24 starting armies in 5 player game and you put them one by one wherever you want to. But you still use the rest of armies after putting these ones.
Matko Trupinić cheers
Hi ! Can u please upload a video of risk "balance of power" edition for 2 players only ? Thank you anws
Wich risk game is best most fun? Will buy one risk game but not sure wich one
the internet says Legacy. but I think Risk Europe is pretty awesome
What do those castles do? They don't seem to do anything, if you said what they do I probably missed it
In Skirmish mode you get an extra point for each castle you control, and in Dominion mode several objectives/abilities relate to castles.
hi, can you confirm that the mayday 56x87 standard uses size are good for game of thrones risk cards? because on the mayday site they suggest chimera (57,5x89)
Worth buying?
Yass gurl
one question, which is the turn order start bonus for stark and baratheon?
There isn't one. These are not meant to be something that happens each turn. It is only for the setup of the game as a balancing due to the fact that the houses getting bonuses also go later in the round than the others, and thus will have less territories for bonuses at the beginning of their first turn. So since Stark and Baratheon go first, they don't get a bonus.
Joseph Fairchild thanks :)
+Shani Black thank you so much!
Can you form alliance with someone?
I have a question instead of using the cards to determine where you are going to put your troops in the beginning of the game, can you just choose your own territories? this way your troops aren't as scattered and obtaining a region is easier....
You can always make your own rules. The ones in the manual are just the preferred ones :P
Nate Jones in skirmish you can't. In Dominion that is a rule.
Can you do a tutorial for lord of the rings risk
ERMAHGURD THANK YOU
Question: SKIRMISH, 6 player game. 48 Westeros + 34 Essos cards = 82 total territory cards. 82 cards/6 players = 13 cards per player + 4 extra territory cards. Which 4 players get an extra card, and which 2 players get the shaft?
Mark Alanis the 2 players who take their turn first don't get extra cards as they are able to reinforce and attack immediately which gives an unfair advantage, hence the extra territories for the 3 players who take their turns last
Yea I'm buying it
I'm trying to set up a 3 player skirmish and it says to deal out all territories and and place 2 armies on each. But no one has enough units to do this.
I had the same problem. I ended up giving everyone 3 armies per territory using a combination of three army and one army pieces.
Daniel Foale I actually scoured the internet and found a product manager from the manufacturer who said to do that exactly. And that future printings of the rule book will be corrected
Hey,
In Dominion mode, if I turn in an objective card (Control five castles) and win 1 VP, and then in subsequent turn lose the castle, will I also lose the VP?? Pls clarify
No you don't lose the point
VPs never go away unless a master card makes u take away a point
I have a doubt based all in World Ward mode, at the beginning ITS says "Follow the rules and victory conditions Previously Described for skirmish and dominiom " , then in the Winning part ITS says: "All other rules for skirmish or Dominion game play applys "
So , What do i need for winning in World At Ward mode ??
Case 1 : I need to Have Control of my Seat of Power plus the 10 victory points.
Case 2: I only need 10 victory points, this based on the last text at the winning part That says " For World at war , the first player to earn 10 victory points wins"
If you don't understand, you can always just make your own rules xD. I prefer getting all the leader's heads as a winning goal, but that'd take forever
If you really want to follow the official rule, you need the seat of power to win with the 10 points
Daniel Rojas Delgado well world at war includes either Skirmish OR Dominion. You pick one of these 2 game modes and you try to complete the objective of that CHOSEN game mode.
A better grasp of the English language. Lol
how can you capture a seat of power
I have one doubt... can i use more than 1 character card on each turn?
+Enrique Márquez Yes, you can use all 4 in one turn as long as you can pay for it. You can only use a character card once per turn.
When it’s revealed, the game is over, not when it’s drawn.
when can you use territory cards
and maester cards
I would need this answer too xD
(Hope you found the solution)
Hi, how are You? I am working on creating the Game of Thrones Deluxe Edition of Risk by myself. Unfortunately I am missing the descriptions of the maester-cards... Would You mind taking photos or a short video of them maester-cards and send them to me? You would really help me out, because I could not find them anywhere else ... Greets from Germany and thanks for the TH-cam video. Max
It's SKIRMISH not Skrimish. No such word. Great video otherwise though, thanks :)
It means a scrimmage skirmish! Get your strategery on! Skrimish!
No Greyjoy?
lot of Greysad though
what happens if you lose seat of power territory
You lose
SKRIMISH LMAO
Wym?
@@daankuhne182 Ripping on the misspelling and mispronunciation of the word skirmish. They found it so funny, their ass hath fallen off whilst laughing, as it was stated.
Bro doesnt know what grammar mistakes are
2:53 He said foreplay
as a youtube hero I find this outrageous
and triggering
I agree strongly! The word ''''''foreplay'''''' is anti LGBTQWERTYABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP1 AND IS TYPICAL OF A STRAIGHT WHITE (cisgender)(binery)(racist)(homolinear) MALE LIKE YOU!
THIS VIDEO IS GUILTY OF MAJOR MANSPLAINING
Hahaha but wtf is the baratheon seat of power dragonstone and not storms end
The story of that game begins right after Robert Baratheons death. During this time Stannis was at Dragonstone. And in this Version the Tagaryens are in Essos
Risk 2210 = 10/10.
What your school note for Risk GOT ?
In battle, I don't really understand the 6th step.
Where is Tully and Arryn
not a powerful house, i guess. :)
RougeAttacker8 1 WHERE ARE MORMONTS
Dead?
HAHAHAHHAAAAA OMG
Yhe the vale of arryn sopsedly have the best soldiers in the land
Skirmish it’s 3 armies on each territories not 2
Storm lands need to be purple.
Mate, do a tutorial using the actual SKIRMISH board, cards and pieces. Way too confusing using Essos version. Skirmish edition in shops is Westeros only. Also, its Skirmish. Not Skrimish.
Nicola Boyle the default set you buy comes with both, the Westeros version is a cheaper edition with no dominion they made after people complained about price.
I dont understand, 3 armys vs 2,if i attack, the third die is useless
It gives you the opportunity to make a better score, then choose the best dice and throw away the one that's the weakest, get it ?
the E is silent
You would think a huge publisher of this standing would supply much better cards ...cheap and nasty square cornered cards really let down some of the good components ...call me mr syndical but this was a really cheaply made cash cow for this IP grrr ...
Best game ever 10/10 ... just had to make it a bit harder.
All i see is risk and axis&allies....
I'd better play monopoly
Ray Allen
It is SKIRMISH
I have the game, just no1 to play with!! Want to play?
