used to catch crawdads in the creek when i was a boy about 1970 or so and we would sell them to my dad for a penny apiece penny and a half for peelers . then he would take us fishing . great memories. great shows. thx richard.
Brother Richard we (my son 13 and I ) have been with ya for along time.. we love this method we live in the woods with several creeks ... we got some traps for those mud bugs.. this is our favorite way to fish them bass tear it up .. God bless you and this channel I know for a fact this technique is awesome.. hook em towards the tail..
You sir are a great man some would say you're second to none. I really appreciate all the content you have blessed us with over these years. You've really made my life that much better with knowledge. May God bless you and all you care about fine sir.
Thanks Richard, I had heard of using a rubber band for crayfish but never knew how until now. My only experience using crawfish was at the hydroelectric plant in Louisville on the Ohio River. We only caught drum but it was a lot of fun. They were 4-6 pounders.
Softcraws work so good in late summer early fall. Nice tips Richard, Ive used small rubber bands but if u have none, I've used plastic wire ties like they put on loaves of bread because it's all I had with me at the time
Gene! These people don't know what you go through! Especially in the wintertime. We know crawfish are must in the wintertime, but show them what you go through. Whether scooping dead leaves in a bottom of a branch, to throwing cheese in a creek. That's all I know, but I bet the master has a better way. Please let us see how you get your crawfish. Love ~A Gene loving fishing machine~
I fished here years and years ago...I thought I forgot about it, but I didn't. Thats problem solving 101 for you folks that don't understand...until you do.
Awesome video Mr.Gene filled with lots of tips that makes fishing more enjoyable. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with your family. Question for you Mr. Gene how do you think your Bama Football team will do against them Georgia Bulldog for the SEC championship game? Anyways you have a blessed day and stay safe out there. Aloha from Kansas
Hey RG thank you I get so much out of your videos. I love fishing live crawdads too almost everything eats them ime from smallmouth to catfish, strippers, steelheads. I’m interested in catching Buffaloes I’d live it if you did a video on them one day. I’m an otr trucker and your videos keep me in touch with nature when I can’t be out there. Be safe my fishing friend.
Another great video Richard thanks for sharing. Have you ever noticed anything funny with the drag on those Diawa Fuego reels? Probably my favorite reel I own but I have two of them and had the drag slip on both.
Biggest carp i ever caught was on a dad tail with no weight and drifted in a slow current several timez. He ran me up and down the creek several times. Whzt a fun time. Never forget it
hey Richard it would be awesome if you gave Steve Commalander a visit. He seems to be having a hard time right now being alone and all. I know your extremely busy but I think it would help him out a lot if you made the trip to see/fish with him. And hey thanks for all you do!
These spots have took over my home lake (cedar creek reservoir) in Franklin country Alabama. And they just don’t get very big. It’s hard to catch a large mouth from being over run with spots
Thank you for your time your wisdom and your love your well-loved Richard you're like family to me and I haven't even met you but I feel that way about you maybe I can get up there. Alabama from Florida I'm in Plant City, maybe we can get together and do some fishing one day youngin
I was on the rivr the other day. I saw/heard same thang; fish sukn @ the top of the water as if gasping for air, a few "blowin-up" & thrashing on the surface...they musta seen me awn the bank & stayed away. All I did was drown a few worms & got my new crankbaits soakn wet!
Mr. Gene you ever pull one or both claws off? I've read they've done studies where the bass are far more aggressive when the crawfish is missing one craw and even more aggressive when they are missing both.
I sure could use a "good fer ya" fishin' trip. If ya haven't heard, some ya-hoo round these parts says it's second to none..................and he's right!

Another great video Richard thanks for sharing. Have you ever noticed anything funny with the drag on those Diawa Fuego reels? Probably my favorite reel I own but I have two of them and had the drag slip on both.
They are good for brackish water too, even saltwater.
Biggest carp i ever caught was on a dad tail with no weight and drifted in a slow current several timez. He ran me up and down the creek several times. Whzt a fun time. Never forget it
No wonder watermelon and green pumpkin colors are so good.

I caught a nice size albino crayfish recently on a nightcrawler and a bobber
Woodrow, next door in the trailer park, came over and we been eating pizza and watching RGTFM videos. Wooo.
Thank You RG And God Bless You And Yours
Awesome idea! It works!!
Nothing beats using a soft shell crayfish.. bass carp and catfish go crazy over them
Great video Richard ! Do walleye and northern pike also swallow the crayfish from the tail end ?
Awesome spotted bass!!!
These spots have took over my home lake (cedar creek reservoir) in Franklin country Alabama. And they just don’t get very big. It’s hard to catch a large mouth from being over run with spots
Mud bugs I know what you fixing to do Richard Gene the machine great Ideal.
I've alwayed hooked them threw the tail. Had good success that way.
Is it harder to catch crawfish with traps when it gets colder? I've never tried catching them this late in the year. Another great vid buddy 👊👍
Keep up the good work.
Good to see Richard. You are good for me . Take care . Wooooo.
Great video Mr Gene..❤❤😎
Letem go
I never thought how a bass eats crawdads tail first. I’ve caught numerous bass with antennas and pinchers hanging out their throat.
I from 🇨🇵✌️. Good vidéo 👍 thanks for share. See you later ✌️

Yessir Enjoyed it . .
2:55 It sounded like he barked. 🤣😂🤣
Richard, the hook on the 1st crawfish hooked different direction than the direction you advised.

Can you use a circle hook for this rig ?
Where you get those good-looking crawfish Richard Gene? I'm talkin wooooo!
Outstanding
I keep trying to figure out where your at. I don't have a boat and still pretty new to the area.
Nice job
Do you watch your line so you know when you got a bite or do you feel the tug??
Mr. Gene you ever pull one or both claws off? I've read they've done studies where the bass are far more aggressive when the crawfish is missing one craw and even more aggressive when they are missing both.
My great uncle was a big trotline fisherman. He seined crawdads for flatheads.
I sure could use a "good fer ya" fishin' trip.
If ya haven't heard, some ya-hoo round these parts says it's second to none..................and he's right!
I'm out here in Nebraska and after seeing this I gotta go get me a few craw .dads
