One of the nice things about this headset is that unlike the cheaper knock offs they don't completely "click out" when the hearing protection kicks in, more like it squashes the noise down to acceptable levels. I've had pyros go off right next to me during a conversation, and you can still hear what's going on even though your ears aren't left ringing.
I also have AMPs and they're amazing, especially with NFMI. Just a comment on storing them on the helmet like you do at 16:00 - don't rotate them back towards the rear of the helmet, that's what gives you that kink, should rotate them towards the front and up that way
Which helmet mounting option do you prefer, ARMs or Peltor Adaptor? I hears many online say that Peltor adaptor is flimsy and ARM is better in every way, but then I saw Garland Thumb saying that he prefers Peltor adaptor for the ability to pop them out and still hear the radio while ventilating his ears. And I heard Hoplopfheil say that Peltor adaptors allows his to better stabilize helmet to his head so that he doesn’t have to strap his helmet too tightly, while rear mounting options like ARM doesn’t stabilize as well... So now I cannot decide. What’s your take?
Walker Razors are way worse than howard leight. And they're mono, not even stereo, so you have idea what directions sounds are coming from! I did a full 270 degree spin trying to figure out who was talking behind me cause I was wearing the Walkers. Also the Walkers completely cut sound when rather than filter it out. You hear a loud bang? Sound will cut out for a second or two completely with the Walkers.
@@amg_csgo I’m going to switch over to the ar-152 baofeng, it’s still a baofeng uv5r but in a ar-152 body with a bigger battery. I can’t say for sure for all of them but I recently got a pair of the clones a really nice set no mix match plugs or cables or headband everything matching , The hearing protection is excellent the clarity of communication is excellent the decibel reduction is excellent I paid A little over $300 for them versus the $2200 set that I have I would never ever pay that price again the clarity and communication and decibel ratings with the real pair do not warrant that price tag the clone pair that I purchased are every bit as good as Sorden or peltor. The clone also has the auto shut off after four hours of inactivity.
And yes communicating through the PTT or just sound in general the level is the same right and left there is no difference I know exactly what you’re talking about having good hearing out of one ear cup and the other being very muted lots of cheap headsets do that these do not

Great to hear!
Loved that review, great level of detail and I appreciate you have to caveat your statements but your attention to detail I thought was spot on.

What helmet do you have and do the pads lay flat? im worried the pads will get worn out in storage especially if they are partially compressed
I have an Ops Core Carbon SF, am not seeing them have any problems with deforming in storage no, they do lay pretty flat tbh
dayum you have the ops core amps and the carbon sf? Thats good money right there my dude. Nice.
Can you go into a little more detail about head shape and the stock of an ar15 bumping up against the ear muff? Thank you.
Informative video. With the Howard Leight’s being significantly less expensive than the FMAs, what makes you trust their NRR?
I dont even play Airsoft but I am gonna watch it anyway

You can just rest the AMPs against the helmet rail for some sir flow and still hear coms fine.

Is there a Link for that Earmor Ptt?
Great comparison! I’m curious if the FMA AMPS will fit on the genuine Ops-Core headband and vice-versa?
I couldn’t see why it wouldn’t. But we haven’t tested it
They fit on the real amp arms and the real ones fit on the fake ones

is the FMA amp headset compatible with the Ops core AMP arms? can you use the Ops core AMP arms to mount the FMA AMP to the helmet?
Yes, I’ve seen other comments state that
Are midland radios any good? I have a baofeng uv5r but I cannot transmit to anything I can only hear from it
They lock out certain freq’s. You’ll need to talk on a different band or range
Yo did yu ever end up switching radios? Or was your PTT the problem? lmk im having issues transmitting but I can receive perfectly.

You can by using the team wendy adapters

I’d say Reddit is probably a good place to start!

How loud is radio comms in the FMA or the OPS?
Loud enough to hear! Lol. You can control the volume on the radio so it’s a bit of a moot point in most cases
Have you tried for shooting real steel?
Most of the sets, yes. I haven't personally tried the FMA's, but I've been told it works well outdoors. YMMV
