My first year truck when I was in high school was a red 1955 Chevrolet truck. I haul a man that was my neighbor two ton of hay which I payed 50.00 dollars for the hay .I worked on it for several months. I wished I had It again. But I have my dads truck so l will have to get it done.
When the Chevrolet six-cylinder engine was introduced back in 1929 the attaching bolts for the tin on the engine used what was called "stove bolts" and that is where the term "stove bolt six " came from. In fact, when the 265 was introduced in 1955 the attaching bolts for the tin was "stove bolts". They are actually a pain in the ass as they were of course slotted screws with a large head (1/4 x 20 thread). The bolts being a 7/16 head are naturally more convenient, but they can be overtighten and of course stretch the holes in the tin.
I have a 1955 long wheel base just like that one. It was my dad's first new pickup truck he bought .it has been in the family for years. I hope I get back on the road soon someday.i been trying to get back to it
That’s awesome thanks for checking it out! I love the swap meet, the fall one always seems to be better for us, but I got some good parts for the 57 150 this past swap meet.
There is a guy getting 800 bucks out of those straight sixes and other engines. Put them on a pallet. Take a few pictures and put them on this auction. And they sell like hotcakes according to him. If they're running you can almost get double that. According to him. If you're interested let me know I'll give you the information of what channel to tune into. And if you figure out what the auction is if you could kindly let me know I appreciate it too. I've never taken the time to try to figure it out. I am assuming if you fail to look long enough he'd find out just by hunting where you could find one of these engines for sale. It sounds like you get paid for the shipping on top of that. Not a bad deal for no 6 cylinder and somebody else gets what they want for their ride. All the same. Congrats on the 2 57 s.

What’s that S10 in your carport?
My dads 86 extended cab, we are gonna put the 383 and Muncie out of the Chevy II gasser into it
When you were having to cut the trunion bolt out, i took a small screwdriver and stuck it in the little hole and got mine out.
Right on!
Exactly that's how you get loose. And put some freeze off I get it at auto zone it works great on all rusty bolts and on everything.
That’s awesome!

I love them side by side! Thank you!
In Mobile we would wear shoes on our feet so the sparks don't burn the feet.
I wore shoes in mobile too but that’s cause the ship yard and pipe shop had a lot of heavy stuff

Sand it down and primer it ! Sky blue is a great color for twins 🤔
Would be a good color for sure, they’re will get clear coated and I’ll do body work a little at a time while I drive them
The Rat Pack looking good
Thank you! It’s getting there
High quality saftey flip flops....
Always!
Love both of Them let me know if you want to SELL THEM
Thank you I do as well, I don’t think I ever could part with them
Put carburetor on the bench with a electric fuel pump and run Diesel fuel thru it too clean it out .,🤔🤔🤫
That’s a good idea, rebuild kits are cheap though, I’ll pull it apart and if the gaskets don’t shred I’ll just blow it out and give it a shot
