We had a wild cat join our household after we moved. He was a European Forest Cat and was build like a fricking bulldog. He was strong enough to pull 9 year old me on his toy through the flat if he wanted to. This guy wasn't scared of anything, really, but he did react quite skittish to touch. He learned over time that pets are not a bad thing, but he was quite clear when he was not okay with them anymore. The amazing thing was, he wasn't scared of the vacuum at all. This like 7 year old, fully feral cat who decided to move in with us cause of how sick he was and asking for help, literally let us vacuum his fur. And he *loved* it. Gizmo, I miss you, buddy. Really hope you are doing well wherever you ended up in.

Aww that's so cute!! The first day I got my 2 month kitten she slept in my lap that same day. I was spending time with her, playing, petting her, and letting her get used to me. She's 6 months old right now, and she likes to sleep on my hair or on me sometimes. Today, she was licking me after I pet her:)
@@user-lemon852 well they do prefer your bare hands cos they can smell you better but if you're doing this every day gloves (mitt gloves) are a good idea
My family has a ginger cat who we named „whisky“, because our other 2 cats who passed away the year prior were called „Caipi“ and „Prosecco“. Whisky used to visit us almost every day and eat the cat food we had in the bowl outside. We had a bowl there since we used to get visits by another cat who belonged to our neighbours and he would get small cat food portions from us with permission from the neighbours. My father was the first to earn Whisky’s trust by sitting out in the backyard near the bowl to get Whisky used to his presence and eventually Whisky allowed my dad to pet him. A few days after my father earned his trust I managed to earn it too. My father with the help of me got Whisky in a cat transport box and took him to the vet, because he looked like we were the only ones feeding him and he you could see his rib cage. At the vet we learned that he wasn’t chipped and he also had worms. We took him in and gave him meds to get rid of the worms. We then got him a box which we put a comfy blanket in, because the only thing we ever saw him sleep in was the box. A week after we visited the vet Whisky looked healthier and happier than ever. We took him back to the vet and checked for the worms again, which were now gone, we also got him chipped since my mother couldn’t just put him in a shelter. A month after settling in we started to actually be able to play with him. He used to be scared of us walking, because we were so big compared to him. Whenever we threw a ball he’d bring it back like a dog, but he stopped doing that 1 month ago from now. The past month he started to fear my little brother (12 yrs old), because my brother would pick him up and hold him even when Whisky didn’t like it. Whisky never retaliated against it but started to stay either in the same room as me or the room next to me. He’d also follow me often and just lay either next to me or near my feet. I believe this is because I stop my brother from grabbing Whisky and holding him.
My cat, since when i got her, she was infested woth flea's, ended up getting regular flea baths so now, she associates baths with the good feeling of being less itchy or not itchy at all as well as treats, so she doesnt try to escape. She will hop out when you turn around, since i did that to grab towels when she was a kitten, so she associates that with "oh? We're done? Ok! Lemme hop out for you!"
Coincidentally, my brother once had a kitty that was named Lucky. Ironically, it got hit by a car a few weeks later due to my ex-stepfather being a drugged up and drunken dong and leaving the door open so that he could escape and go on the highway.
I got a kitten from my sister when she was 2 months old, I would softly kiss her on her forehead or her cheek. One day I went to smooch her forehead and she even lowered her head so I could smooch better. She even lets me clip her nails, clean near her eyes for eye boogers with little to no hassle ( if mild hassle does occur I ask her to calm down and hold on and 9-10 times she’ll stop until i’m done and then ill smooch her head and tell her she’s a good girl. One time in particular really caught me off guard, I had let her out of my room to roam freely in the living room, but before she got to far I asked her to hold on, so she stopped, sat down and looked at me as I explained to her that if she wanted back into my room, to either meow and/or softly claw at the door. After I told her, she was still sitting and looking at me, So I said that was it sand she was good to go, so she got up and casually walked away… She did do as asked as well, She clawed my door just enough for me to hear and mewed for good measure. That was like the 2nd time of trying that and now, I do it every time she wants out.
My favorite summer job ive ever had was working at a rescue place and I basically went to work to sit in the pen with all the kittens with y best friend and play with them to get them used to human touch 😂 almost forgot it was a school project
