Every year I attended the children's and youth book fair in Bologna at the beginning of April, and I had collaborations with Mondadori, Milano. - Hall 6 at the big Frankfurt Book Fair was the "Hall of the Italians" - always there open from 6 p.m. after business hours! Fabulous - with Prosecco and Tramezzini which were freshly imported from Milano every day! The publishers paid for it collectively !!! -
In 2000 I came to Cremona privately for the first time, visited the violin maker Francesco Bissolotti, who gave me an introduction to violin making in Cremona. Unforgettable as he hardly spoke any English and I didn't speak Italian! But I'll still learn! - Some time later I met G. B. Morassi - had lunch with him in the Hotel Duomo - both were teachers at the violin making school. Now I am in contact with Davide Sora and his wife Anna-Marie, who is also a violin maker. A few times we stayed on an Azienda -agriturismo in an old Italian manor house on countryside with a count and his wife with 100 goats, cows and sheep close to the Po. Like Verdi in St. Agata! We had also contact to the artist-painter Garutti. - So I have very good and memorable memories of Cremona! - Unfortunately I didn't know any organist of Cremona to this day!! At Easter time 2019 we visited Bologna with San Petronio for ten days, and the collection of Maestro Luigi Fernando Tagliavini, whom I met after his concerts in Vienna - this collection "Tagliavini" was very impressive for me. In this week Notre Dame was on fire in Paris - Olivier Latry was in Vienna for a concert that day. - Please stay healthy, Sign.
