I ran across this tonight and had to copy your link in to a Facebook page. 1300 V Star Tourer adventures. Your ride with those hard panniers is ready to roll for an adventure, ad that fits right in with the idea for the page. Loving it.
Brilliant video. Strong work on listing the Hepco and Becker stuff in your description. Looking over their products now for a 1300 V Star. What a gem of a find.
A man who knows how to make dreams come true - well done. Good things don't come easy. Thanks for the Memphis Shades site. I bought the lower deflector right off. Hope to see it by next Wednesday, free shipping!! All Right!!! Wishing you luck with the Council. The folks in Sturgis live for the money they take in!! So what if the streets are full of bikes! Take that to the stodgy Council :)
Thanks, Dean - I did search Memphis Shades - nothing came up for 2014 Yamaha 1300 Tourer. I'll keep looking. Looking forward to the weekend - should be in the 80'sF in the Seattle area - I'm on Camano Island, Washington State if you like geography.
Here's a USA ebay link. All the v star 1300 models it'll fit. www.ebay.com/itm/Memphis-Shades-Clear-Windshield-Lowers-KIT-Yamaha-XVS1300-V-Star-2007-2015-/301894677019?hash=item464a53321b:g:lNoAAOSwwTlUqca~&vxp=mtr - Here it's going to be 66f and wet lol.
Thanks Dean, it's always nice to get someone else's views on things. Love all your videos, keep up the good work. I'm just getting ready to order the American Classic 11 myself, love the sound, like yourself starting to put some accessories on for that personal touch.
Better weather is coming your way! Thank you for the website - should do the trick. Much appreciate your research. Did you win the lotto to be able to trick out your bike so well???? haha - your help is much appreciated, Dean!
Nice bike! How did you manage to mount the HB side racks and the HB luggage rack at the same time? I asked customer support and today Hepco & Becker informed me that this was not technically possible with this model. That's what it says on their website too. Since I have a 2008 XVS 1300 Midnight Star and HB cases, I am very interested in this topic..
+Bex88 Thanks B. Thats just a little camera and a GoPro. Only had 15 mins spare to record lol. When finished it all up I'll do another. Happy new Year. RS x
what about that hyper gadget in the rain? i really like everything. maybe my next commuter rig. i've been on aprilias for the last 200,000 miles. awesome bikes. i think it's time for a cruiser.
Looking awesome Dean, what with the Pipes and the Hypercharger for the looks and the backrest screen and forward mounts for comfort, and not forgetting the panniers and back box for convenience, can't go wrong! RSM8.
+Skeggy Cruiser Cheers Skegg. Just looking forward to getting all the finish dipped. As soon as the weather is somewhat ok I'm going to go get a quote. still not keen on the panniers though, but needs must. Ride safe mate.
I just got my National Cycle Chrome Light Bar for my 1300 midnight Star But i think I will mess it up. I think I might need more help then just reading the manual because of my dyslexia. I guess you didn't make any video when you installed your National Cycle Chrome Light Bar?
Thanks, Dean - you do the same! Country roads are for me, not U.S. freeways - too hazardous! :) What model # wind deflector did you get below your wind screen? Too much turbulence!! Thank you - JC
Crazy drivers are everywhere ;). They're the Memphis Shades Lower Deflectors. They work great up to 70mph, and reduce the buffeting to about 20-25% of the 100% you are getting. With the genuine yamaha screen bracket on, they dont go as far up as they should, hence only reducing to 25% ish. Once I have a quick release screen (maybe the batwing) I'll re test them at the proper position.
hi dean great vid really nice bike sounds good to.in an earlier vid you mentioned about cars tailgating. how about fitting a small led sign that you can program with im stopping or even pull back.remember a mate on a goldwing having one a few years back or would this be to distracting for the car drivers or as i call them muppetts.by the way we were the couple on the goldwing in front of you in vizi vests on the toy run in stoke.all the best mike&christine,
+mike James Hey mike n thanks. I thought about fitting one, but saw a custom with one on and changed my mind. I think i mentioned your bike in one of the vids. I love Goldwings. Hope you both had a good xmas and new year. Ride Safe.
hi dean many thanks for the vids and yes you did mention us hope we didnt get in your way to much.you will have to do the egg run with us or how about doing the ride to the wall that would be awsome.ride safe and keep the vids coming
+mike James I was happy being anywhere in the bunch. After each time I stopped I challenged myself to get near the front again, but only ever really caught up to you or a few bikes in front lol. I'll be deffo doing the egg run, with more cameras next time. Are you going to be going to the Save Matlock Meet on March 6th?
Derbyshire council are trying to cut down on bikers going into matlock. Limiting their stay, charging them silly amounts, limiting where they can park, rather than just the strip. If you search on facebook, something will pop up. Should be a fair few 1000 bikers going from all over the country.
+Josh Burnett They're great pipes. Subtle when riding relaxed on low revs but mega loud when giving it some. They also do a 3" version which baffles are removable. These baffles are welded in but are straight through baffles.
+Dean UK Biker Martin that is what I am looking for. Just seems like all the Cobra Videos, the bikes are super loud all the time. Not at deep of a sound either.
The cobras with the baffles in are decent loud, very low rumble. without them in or short baffles theyre a lot louder. These as standard are louder than the cobras with short baffles, and these have long non removable baffles.
No plate was included. I had to get the rack, but depending on your bike, you can get one of their univeral mounting plates, or a solid mounting bracket. Add your bike details in here and all stuff comes up www.moto24.co.uk/
Hello, Thanks for the vids. I"m considering a vstar 1300. I noticed your hypercharger is different that the skull one in other videos. What brand is the skull intake that I assume you changed too?
Rock Stomper it’s a Harley Willie G sticker. In all honesty I wouldn’t go for the Hypercharger. It’s over priced for what you get. It looks good but doesn’t perform as well as others. I got the most power from the Barons big air kit. Amazing quality also.
@@CVODean Thanks for the input! Yeah the hypercharge looks really good, when you crack down on it and it opens up … LOL!! How big a difference in power is it from the Baron big air?
Rock Stomper it’s noticeable and consistent. My Hypercharger rotted under the paint. The butterfly hinges broke, the paint pealed. Was a pain to tune correctly. Would never have another even As cool as they look.
+Raymond Wowk The Power Pro, although it's stated it adjusts everything for you, it takes a while for it to start working. The guy at the dyno said it takes around 15 miles for it to start making adjustments and still doesn't get it right. Both the tuner and the customs shop recommended the O2 over the PowerPro. I also have a friend that tried the PowerPro on his Harley and he said it gave him nothing but issues. The O2 works brilliant. very easy to install. it took me about 10-5 mins. When you start your bike, you have to make sure you let the start up check run through, or it missreads everything and doesnt work, so not just the needle stopping but the power on cycle to complete.
I realy realy need to know this, right, my birthday is on august 8th this year an i have recently just brought a 125 version of the yamaha xvs! its such a beautiful bike but i just want to know, would i be able to install all the shield, front lights you added on and heated grips, along with most other things?
Congrats on the purchase. And yes and No. Not the exact one's I have. As it's a 125cc, all the extras will really slow it down but you can get quite a few bits for it. The windshield for one, many diff types are available for it. The fog lights are very pricey, so it's only if you can justify spending a few 100 £/$ on them. You could just buy a bracket and some cheap lights? Heated grips yes, they're brill and worth the money. I wouldn't go for hard panniers etc as you'll struggle to get to 50mph with all that extra weight. There's some quite decent exhaust systems out there for yours also. Converting the xvs 125 into a bobber may be a good project for you?
For now I am going to leave the exhaust as it is, i heard a few cruisers but this one has topped most , i don't know what exhaust its got but drilled some holes in the end of it an it sounds amazing, to be honest i think i will try an go for the windshield, extra lights on the front, heated grips and the grip shields, also the foot pedals, and i already got panniers but there leather ones, i took them off the one time but the bike didn't look as good so i put them back on, also i will try an add a back an front seat cause i imagine for what i would be doing would suit its job, just to add before i had a 50cc suzuki ts50x and maximum 50mph so anything faster will just be as good, not looking for to much speed anyways, just a confertable ride for 2 years until i can do my a2 test
+Distort7 to be honest, I'd leave as much of that bike stock as possible, just add the screen, that's it. When you come to sell it you'll get more for it being as close to stock as poss.
agreed, but i can always take those parts off and sell them separate from the bike? around here people want to buy stuff like that so it would be easy to sell, not that much loss either on money, but i agree, my previous bike i had i cep original and nothing changed cause my dad was always telling me it would be worth more over time
also u had this pannel next to the front wheel where on my bike i have not got one, an thats caused a bit of rust on the front of the engine cause water splashing there, no joke i was telling everyone or asking, can u not buy them from somewhere an most people was like no they dont exist but i knew they do exist cause if it was causing rust to the bike someone has had to made something to prevent it happening
well im gobsmacked i was going to matlock in my late teens on my gs750e.the bikers and the lads on scooters put a lot of money into the local businesses this is just ridiculous matlock is an institution for bikers to go and the general public love it to its where a lots of kids say to there mums and dads i want one of them when im old enough!!!!!
+mike James They still put the money in. And tourists are still the same. But the council is are ignorant and stupid, as are all councils. All the local businesses object also.

Cheers Aaron. It's a little different as you dont usually see it on a cruiser :)
Do they catch a ton of wind? I like the size, just curious if it still handles well with them on and doesn't turn you into a kite.

Lol nope. Saved hard for 1 year. No spending on anything else, so had a good budget to buy the bike and everything else.

Pardon my ignorance but what is save the matlock run?we may do it if i can get time of work

Hiya mate , I have the same bike and same screen , loads of bufferting !1 the shades stopped it !!
The Memphis shades stopped it for me. Started getting it when over 100mph. Anything below that and was perfect.
Just got an email from Hard Krome, those pipes fit my 2014 as well. Think I may order me a set, the sound of your bike made me want a set.
+Josh Burnett They're great pipes. Subtle when riding relaxed on low revs but mega loud when giving it some. They also do a 3" version which baffles are removable. These baffles are welded in but are straight through baffles.

Looking good.
+wyvernbiker Cheers WB. RS mate.
Is your TomTom detachable (that sounds funny)? Do you fear of it being stolen? The gimbal for the GoPro does a great job!
Yeah it's detachable mate. Just the mount is wired in. I always take it off and lock it up when leaving the bike.
Did you have to buy the tuner after adding the exhaust and hypercharger?
Hi Dean , where did you get your Hepco and Becker top case from, and did it come with the mounting plate.
Cheers
Gray
No plate was included. I had to get the rack, but depending on your bike, you can get one of their univeral mounting plates, or a solid mounting bracket. Add your bike details in here and all stuff comes up www.moto24.co.uk/
Can you share the link where have you purchased the radiator grill please?

dean did you mean the local business object to the bikers or just the council
+mike James They object to the council
Where you can buy these trunks
I bought mine from moto24.co.uk
You can get them from hepco and becker website also

Saw these online, if you ever want to quiet them down. Seem like a pretty straight forward install.
I'd honestly prefer louder lol. Plus the end caps on these feel impossible to get off.
+Dean UK Biker Martin I'll know for sure when I get them and put them on
Thats the best thing about them. They're loudish but not too loud unless you really give it some throttle.
My old roadstar hard some vance and hines pipes on it. Sounded good, but was too loud with the baffles out.
V&H are very loud without baffles in lol. I like short cut baffles. Nice balance of loud and evil ;)
