I appreciate so much the camera's attention to Bombino's hands while he's playing. Guitarists like to be able to see (and be amazed) at what he's doing.
The percussion instrument is a calabash, which is a gourd, like a squash or pumpkin. It's usually played with sticks and hands. I believe the guy playing it, is the drumset player for his band. I saw them at the High Sierra Music Festival last year, and they tore it up.
I love every sound, I hear. This amazing lyrics without really know what they mean. It's the magic of music, melody, rhythm and the tonality of his voice.
Bombino is a piece of art for the people to see and hear! Saw him recently in Amsterdam. I am totally feeling the way he looks at his guitar with full emotion. One could argue music shouldn't be allowed to be made without such a deep connection and feeling.
Amazing!! I'd love to know who the musicians are for these tiny desk concerts... Could you possible credit the musicians on the description so I can youtube stalk them also?? I am the hugest fan of tiny desk concerts!!! Keep em coming -All the way from the land down under ...(New Zealand)
occasionally he hits one note that just sends shivers down my spine--subtle, light and sweet, mesmerizing and gorgeous.

I heard some modern Tuareg music in a surfing video and I've been checking them all out, nice!
it wouldn't hurt putting up the artistic and technical list of people involved in each session...
I totally agree. ALL the musicians and tech folks should be acknowledged for their contribution.
