I like how the African guitarists dont play the way we are used to hear from the radios and well-known guitarists in western world. You can tell they are most likely not copied their style from anyone famous guitarist. And when the music has no guidelines to follow, it comes purely from the heart!

@@yoyomatafaka He is singing in Tuareg languages it is very closely related to Berber amazigh language (original north Africans language). It is spoken by the Tuareg Berbers in large parts of Mali, Niger, Algeria, Libya and Burkina Faso
Such a beautiful music...I can't understand what he's saying but the music penetrates my soul regardless...to touarg people please do all you can to preserve this culture and language
I discovered "sahara blues" only recently, so far i love it. I mostly like Bombino, Mdou Moctar and Tinariwen. I'm open to suggestions for what else i should listen to.
Not sure if Ballake Sissoko counts as blues exactly, but holy God can he play the kora. The album "In the Heart of the Full Moon" by Ali Farke Toure and Toumani Diabate is spectacular (those artists have accented letters in their names but I don't know how to do that on my keyboard). And Oum is a Moroccan blues group that kind of has to be heard to be believed. I'm just starting my journey into the many varied African blues that exist and I hope you like these as much as I do.
Have you tried Songhoy Blues? Their album Music in Exile is great. Ali Farke Toure did an album with Ry Cooder called Talking Timbuktu which is also very good.

Call me Insane Only recently has the Amazigh people been able to write in their own alphabet, speak and teach their language between themselves, without being persecuted. This is not to mention the religion extremism that is ongoing on North Africa that is NOT derived from Amazigh (who are rather poor in their own land) but, rather, coming from a privileged and powerful few that wish to keep their power and relevance by sending the young ones to fullfill their dirty deeds. If you do not call that 'tyranny' I think you fail to put yourself in the perspective of others.
