Extremally useful video! Great job Chester. Thanks a lot. All your videos are very informative and are in simple step by step procedure. I think if the excel file is saved in the main folder then the links will work even if the entire folder is copied to other location. Any comment!

Hello, there. Excellent video for a start. I have a question. I have a customer that has huge file names on hos files. The problem is i can t copy them to another folder. So my solution is to rename all his folders (1,2,3,4 etc) and then map them with the appropriate name in an excel file, to shorten the file path. My question is how do i map the subfolders in the same excel and keep the folder structure inside the excel so as not to confuse the customer and has the same folder structure? Thanks in advance

Is there a way to batch link? In other words, I am exporting an existing database into an Excel spreadsheet. In this database, I have already linked documents from our files to it. In exporting to Excel, it's copied the path and not hyperlinked to the file. This column essentially is already pathed, but not linked. At the moment, I'd have to go through and link each file to each 267 items. Is there a way to simply highlight the column and ask Excel to automatically link according to the file path?

    I have a question.
In a folder, I have lot of my excel sheets few of each link with each other. but when the folders including all the files, to a new header folder, the links did not changed.
now I have to either change individual for all of the excel sheet by opening all of them or is they an easy way.
now, if I want to transfer few excel sheet, I normally open all of them and Save As to the new folder. but since they are over 100 excel sheets n files I don't want too. is they an easy method.

is there a way to do this, send the doc via email or drop the files off in something like DropBox so when downloaded by the recipient, the hyperlink still works?

Hi, Mr. Tugwell, is there a video about automatically opening a hiperlink inside a excel spreadsheet.
My job requires that I download a good number of pdf filas by clicking on the hiperlink available in the spreasheet.
So my routine is to click on the hiperlink ans save the files in a given folder (I only need to open tham later.)
Maybe this is too much into VBA, or an ordinary app would do the trick, but I would appreciate if you go do a video showing how to do this.
    Thanks. Nice video btw.

Mustavo, where are you downloading the pdf files from?

OK, can't promise anything but I'll keep this in mind for a video topic.

@@ChesterTugwell Thanks. No worries. If you show how to make a macro that "clicks" the hiperlink its more than enough. I think other people would like it also.

Hi Tugwell, I have a data with a different ID and the adjacent column contains numerical value with respect to each ID. I receive every day these data and sometime, some of the ID will not contains numerical value in the adjacent cell. I need to find the difference of a particular ID i.e., today's data with previous data. If the previous data is blank then it has to check the next previous data which contains the numerical value. I dont know how to figure out the formula for this case.

Can you tell me how to copy a page containing multiple hyperlinks to a new workbook without the hyperlinks being stripped off the new page in the second workbook. I have this problem and it is driving me crazy!
