    Reverend Staley, thank you for the incredible gift you gave to your faithful minions with the Preset collection. It’s not just thoughtful-it’s truly one of the most creative and unique presets in my collection. The attention to detail and the originality of the yellow and green shift of the Wonder preset blows me away. It’s clear that you put a lot of thought into it, it’s a work of art. Thank you again, this was very generous of you. Lastly, the "preaching" at the 15 minute mark is f@cking awesome. SO inspirational. Please do NOT stop the passion, you are the BEST channel on YT. "take care of your neighbors".... that's what it's all about. Peace.

    Ben, a lot of people, many photographers included, are reluctant or too shy to jump a fence, walk alone down an empty dark alley, won't wander past some Do Not Enter sign or go bushwacking through forbidden zones. Your mantra works for me. Eyes open, head up, follow your nose and the photos will follow. Thanks for putting this together.

    This morning I woke up feeling sad. Perhaps the premonition of this video. There are so many stories and questions... and sadness.... That's life, yes, but sometimes tough. The injunction not to waste time in realising our desires or projects really struck a chord with me because, having been retired for 1 year, I'm petrified. Your videos breathe life back into me. Thank you, Ben.

    I haven't commented on your videos before but I've watched a number of them. Your work is inspiring and beautiful. Thank you for making it; the world is a richer, better place because of your pictures and videos and messages. Today I commented to say that my thoughts are with you and everyone impacted by the fires in LA. Sometimes in an effort to sound upbeat people will say that the loss of possessions from fires, floods, hurricanes or tornadoes doesn't matter, but it does. Still, having experienced myself something similar from flooding in the upper midwest in spring of 1997, I can say that it's possible to rebuild, to heal, to pick up your life and move forward. It's hard, really hard. And exhausting and expensive. But people will go to great lengths to help lift each other back up. LA will rebuild, come back, be even better than it was. Strength to all of you!

    • @adventureStaley
      @adventureStaley  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you Robert. The hardest thing that has ever happened to you is the hardest thing thats every happened to you. And losing a home to a fire is pretty bloody hard. We went to a volunteer station to try and help hand out supplies to people over the weekend and there were more people trying to help than were needed. Way too many. Its good to see people reach out during the dark times. Its pretty dark right now for a lot of people. Thanks for the thoughts.

    love your work! I use the 85mm f1.8 with my s5ii/s9 and it's probably my favourite lens. I can't see myself buying the 100mm f2.8 for 15mm more reach and not as fast of an aperture. The s9 has the crop zoom so i can still get too 100mm if needed. Intrigued none the less, keep up the great work!

    Interesting, I was just out for a short photo walk yesterday. I was exploring a small city river 2 minutes from my apartment. Full of plastic trash, bottles in trees, various debris and weird stuff. I also had my 100mm macro and a 55 macro. Its deep winter where I am. So nice to capture the small birds ducks and crows that manage to survive in the city. Also the ice crystals on the plants are fascinating. There is unexpected magic everywhere if you slow down and look closely.
    Question for you: I notice you're using a different aspect ration for this film. As a film maker, what determines your choice of aspect ratio? How does it influence the type of story you're telling?
    Thanks, look forward to more!

    • @adventureStaley
      @adventureStaley  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes! I find it endlessly rewarding. I've been experimenting with more "traditional" aspect ratios. I am IN LOVE with ultra wide frames so I'm just trying to see how I will deal with composing this way. Its good to shake things up every now and then. But there are some VERY WIDE things coming... Thanks for noticing.

    Brother you get intense sometimes. But that's ok, we need some intesity. It is so sad to see all that garbage strewn around. Discarded by people who don't care. It's everywhere. It feels a bit like a flashing warning sign. Given the state of the world and the people who are seizing power, the end of humanity as we've known it for generations seems certainly on the way. Better get out with that camera and capture whatever good you can find. By the way, I have a picture of a green discarded kid's bicycle in the woods. Couldn't say if its a Schwin because it was pretty rusted, but I'd be glad to send the shot if you want to see it.
