This is hands down the best LT1 engine breakdown on the internet. I cannot imagine spending the amount of time that you spent doing this. All for us! Thank you!!!!!

Very interesting video!! Archived. I wouldn't use loctite on the fuel rail tho. Service manual recommend to use a new pipe

First of all, nice job showing all the details of what it takes to get the engine nested back home in the engine bay. 1:00:22 I used to work on aircraft autopilot systems. AN fitting are to be torqued with motor oil on the threads and seat for best sealing. The autopilot computer would fail on the bench test for pressure measurements if you didn’t follow that process. They don’t come loose when properly torqued. Never use loctite there because the next time you reconnect it, the residual locktite could prevent proper alignment of the conical seal.

I have always loctited the fitings, Just blue though and never had a leak. That being said, aviation mechanics are held under very strick rules haha i have a few friends that are in it so i thank you for your input.

@@ghostlyrich I believe he was strictly talking about AN fittings. Not anything else. I will re enforce his statement. No fluids/sealants of any type on AN fittings. I haven't seen this whole video admittedly to see if you did anything to any AN fittings though.

@bfkarger i did, good to know i was also taught to lubricate AN fittings with loctite out of curiosity i reached out a few aviation mechanics and they as well said they always have used oil 1.) Because loctites expensive 2.) Because it is aviation standard.
I have never had a issue with loctite as the lubricant/ for of not having titting back off but i cant argue with aviation standard so tha ks for the information from both of you
