  • Planning for transition to adulthood is overwhelming, exhilarating, frustrating, and exciting all at once. It’s also NECESSARY! If you’re a parent wanting to know more about how to contribute to your youth’s transition to adulthood plan, this presentation is for you.
Please join Luisamaria Castillo and Alyssa DiFilippo, from Connections California, as we discuss:
    - A brief overview of the individual transition plan (ITP) as part of the IEP, including the post-secondary ITP goals
    - How we can prepare and support our youth in their transition planning process - and participate effectively
    - How we can create an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust with our youth’s IEP team and teachers - and our youth - putting the goal of a successful transition to adulthood front and center.
This is a Connections California event, a project of Parents Helping Parents - Silicon Valley. Connections California is in part sponsored by the San Andreas Regional Center and the California Department of Developmental Services.
