41:16 What happens if my child is getting SSDI and gets married? - the answer given by speaker is not correct in the following case. If Child is getting SSDI on their own record marriage has no impact. The impact is only for Title II CDB/DAC benefit. The word SSDI should not be used for CDB/DAC. Both CDB and SSDI are Title II benefits, where CDB is on a parent's recored and SSDI is on one's own record. The latter has no asset limit.

And they have suspended her checks so she is no longer getting any kind of income non-zero.. so we did this and I did it over the phone and the guy that took the information said that they aren't even accepting any applications for adult child disability right now so I am extremely upset she has zero income while we wait for whatever when they're not even accepting the application they took it but they're not going to process it because they're not doing that right now like how can they do this

I live in FL and am guardian of my adult disabled son. It took 2 1/2 yrs but last fall he was finally approved for SSI. In the interview I stated that I had a signed room and board rental agreement that my son would start paying me back pay and going further once his SSI payments start. He's only getting $154 a month and are telling me "It doesn't work that way" because I am providing him in kind support. He doesn't have a job and no way prior to SSI to pay me for anything and the measly amount now is not enough really either. I can't make him homeless without food so I have to help him. How can he get more SSI? It's backwards to me. I am at my wits end with SSA.

I used to get SSI years ago. When my father worked and retired at age 62, I was transferred from SSI to DAC and never looked back. I no longer have to worry about $2000 limit. Also, I have Medicare and Medicaid. Now I'm getting $1600 a month with Medicare and Medicaid, and soon to get additional benefits like VA and DFAS that pays even more money. I'm super, super blessed! :)

As an IHSS provider, you do not have to be part of the Union, I just got my orientation a few days ago; the first 50 minutes were about selling the union, the benefits, and so on. The union representative always talked about the benefits, he never mentioned that there is no obligation to enroll. When I gave him my empty form he got mad. My spouse is 2 years older than me and can start taking Social Security benefits now, since my spouse is over 62. I will be 62 this year and my Social Security benefits will be much larger than my spouse's. My child is over 18 and currently gets SSDI from their own work record. If my spouse starts collecting Social Security and we put our child on Disabled Adult Child/Childhood Disability Benefits, will my child get 50% of my spouse's PIA or my PIA? I'm assuming it would be my spouse's because I am not eligible for Social Security. Once I start receiving Social Security benefits, will my child's benefit be based on my PIA?

Question, under the WDP program you can qualify if you are social security defined disabled and working. But how does that work because as soon as I get approved for SSDI I will no longer qualify for my Medi cal benefits due to my part time work being over....AND if I keep my pt job, I will be close to being over SGA at 1,550 and then disqualified from SSDI?

I have been receiving SSI since the age of 14, I am blind and have been blind since the age of 2 years old, I am 46 years old now, both of my parents passed away in 2014, my father passed away before retirement age and my mother passed away at the age of 63, at the time she lived in a assisted living facility in was receiving SSI and as far as I know she never applied for retirement or any other social security programs, I recently was contacted by my local social security office and was informed that I am eligible for the DAC program, and they told me that it was the law that I apply for this program, I never even knew this program existed until about 4 days ago, so I am expecting a interview call Monday to find out if I am eligible and able to receive this benefit, my question is ap why did it take so long for them to contact me about this and also is it true that it is the law that I have to apply for this, they also told me they will use my father's work history but not my mother's, but my father never really paid any sort of taxes or paid into the social security system, he always worked our jobs and was paid cash, he works at a steel foundry when he was a young man but it was only for a few years since his mid-twenties up until the day he passed away he worked basically under the table and was always just paid in cash for handyman jobs and construction work, whereas my mother worked most of her life in service industry such as restaurants and so forth but she always paid her taxes and paid into the social security system, so why would they go with his work history over hers unless they know they will save more money because he did not pay into the system where as she did?

I was receiving SSI. BEFORE THE age of 22 iam now 37 and started my SSI benefits in the year 2005 now I had a representative payee who was my grandma and upon her passing in 2016 my sister became my payee well Social Security messed up and continued to send all my documents to my deceased grandma instead my sister who was my newly appointed representative payee I lost my SSI benefits in 2016 because of this well any I fought and fought for 3years finally getting my benefits back in 2019 but now my father is receiving is retirement benefits and my mother just turned 62 in October in her SSI just turn to Social Security but they're telling me I'm not entitled to childhood benefits do you know of away that I can argue that because I believe they are going by the date that my SSI got reinstated which is 2019 instead of 2005 when they initially started just figured I would ask or if you know anybody that can answer that or how can I argue this because I was disabled before 22

Any one who is not yet an legal adult, can if and when their proven to be disabled, can receive SS bennif's in which the amont is based on their parent or parent's. IF a time come after they become a legal adult and for what ever reason regardless of their disabilty still exist or not. For what ever reason meaning they choose to quit receiving SS bennifit's and start working as those of us who are not disabled. And after a few month's realize that they made a mistake. Getting back on SS Disability will be based entirely assuming they qualify, their bennifit's will be subjected to any and all of the same data, Any adult attempting to get on SS Disabilty is. Which mean's their amount's will be dramatically different than they were when utilizing their parent(s) data. When they were children vs now being adult's. Knowing this, I attempted to thwart someone close to me to stay on what I referred to as GRAVY TRAIN. And how if he were to get off, and then desire to get back on, he would in a sense, assuming he met the qualification's as an adult rather than a child. He would go basically from the engine to the caboose. In term's of his bennifits.

This is with respect to statue In Pari Delicto Defense under Missouri Law, in pari delicto denfense provides that a person can not maintain an action "if," in order to establish his cause of action, he must rely, in whole or in part, on an illegal or immoral act or transaction to which he is a party. I am currently a Service Coordinator Analyst and former Flamenco Guitarist and Vocalist. I have onset disabilities and a father of two boys. I graduated with my B.A. in Conflict Resolution and received my Masters in Management with a focus in Public Administration. I have had an eclectic past being in very lavished and special places due to my past career as a working Flamenco guitarist and vocalist. I have lead many groups. I have also experienced almost every public service organization in Los Angeles during the time I had over 18 reconstructive surgeries and currently recovering from three knee surgeries due to the first surgeon tearing my patellar tendon during my knee replacement and then I got MERSA then I got better but the tendon repair was horrible and I found a new surgeon and he fixed my patellar tendon after six weeks of antibiotics in Picc line. Then I ended up with a Staph infection almost killed me and I went back on a Picc line more antibiotics and finally 08/28/2023 am hoping to get the wound vac and Picc line removed and start my rehabilitation. 09/01/2023 the wound vac was removed and Picc line two days before and onward I go to Rehabilitation and building. I went through healing, recovery moving on to rehabilitation, then building. It’s been a rough year but I am still moving forward. That said, in the past I was navigating various forms of toxicity and knew the sentiments and hardships that that comes with being in line and fiercely advocating for my own welfare and helping others being of Service as a way of being in that process of navigating public entities good and bad.I am a former consumer and grateful for the service I received from DOR. I look forward to the betterment of the system and excelling in my new endeavors and upward mobility being of Service and being present and active in the process of the legitimate justification of individuals , willingness, and ability of success for the common good. I am sincerely humbled and grateful. Thank you all for your work and service. I appreciate the transformational and transactional leadership 💯🦾🦿🕊

Can Social Security Disability cut off an Autistic child benefits, where the parent has whole life insurance for the parent and whole life insurance for the child?

Sorry, but we are not able to give an opinion on this. You should consult with SSA or a private advisor for an answer.

@1:15:50 there was a question regarding if the 50% the DAC receives based on the parent’s payment if they retire early or 50% of the parent’s PIA. I don’t believe this question was answered clearly. I believe that the DAC benefit will be 50% of the parents PIA (what would be their FRA amount) even if the parent starts at 62 and only receives 70% of their own amount. Example, if the parents PIA/FRA is $3,000, but they take SS at 62 the parent would receive $2,100 (70%), but the DAC recipient would still receive $1,500. Please confirm or clarify.

My understanding is the same as yours. The DAC benefit is 50% of the parent's PIA regardless of when the parent retires. It is different from the spousal benefit which does depend on when the higher earning spouse retires.

I have a child who lives in NY, is in community college, and just started his first job. I feel a little behind the curve here and am grateful for your explanations. For his case, I think I will advise him to open a NY ABLE account as soon as possible (looks similar to CA) and work quickly for a 3rd Party SNT. I was hoping I could have him open an ABLE account with Fidelity, but this does not look possible in NY. He recently turned 21 and I am also navigating keeping his insurance coverage. I am a military retiree and the DoD and the college bureaucracies do not make it very simple for anyone (I view this as an earned benefit)

An individual can have only one ABLE account but it doesn't have to be in the state where they live. Each state has the ability to vary certain rules and costs. Consult the ABLE National Resource Center, www.ablernc.org, for more information.
