@@jacksmith-vs4ct Yea in retrospect this wasn't the most constructive comment. I would have been better off explaining that the reason why cutting the throttle is so hard to watch is because in aerial energy = life and cutting your throttle to avoid overshooting bleeds energy out of your plane for no long term benefit. I know the game is more of an arcade game and throttle controls don't seem to be too granular but from what I saw in this video energy still seems to matter a fair bit. If you find yourself worried about overshooting the more advisable course of action is to go high and reset for another diving attack run. That way instead of bleeding all your energy needlessly you reconvert some of it into altitude (potential energy) which you can trade back into velocity when you need it. Cutting throttle leaves you low, slow, and vulnerable. The only times you really want to be cutting your throttle to nothing is if you are in a deep dive and are worried about over speeding the plane and ripping the wings off. Now of course this is a general concept and there are situations where you can't afford to pop a climb and dive back down such as if your opponent is also in a high energy state and could follow you up in the climb to shoot you down from behind, or if you have enemies higher than you that could pounce you in the climb but in these cases cutting the throttle to give you more time on target is going to be a mistake. Another strategy to keep high energy while avoiding cutting the throttle is by weaving wide or by rolling over the top of the enemy plane and coming back down (hard to describe but your path in the end would look like a horizontal corkscrew). In these circumstances you stay behind the opponent not by cutting throttle but by increasing the amount of distance your plane travels compared to them thereby giving you more space to shoot later without wasting as much energy as throttle cutting. All this to say I mildly regret the above comment it was not useful or kind and was me just venting my bad energy at a video that I rather enjoyed overall and a series I intend on continuing to watch.
Typically you want your shot opportunities to come early in the phase as they will nearly never follow the 'current flight plan, so the earlier the shot comes the more likely you are to get them before they can maneuver away.
You can also always try to predict what they're going to do, sometimes it's pretty easy what to anticipate and with the spitfires having shotguns for guns it's pretty effective too.
"Oh they're strarting to shoot at me. I'm not too fond of that" What a surprising revelation, Wolfpack. I too, don't appreciate being shot at. Not my cup of tea.
eh, from personal experience i can tell you that getting shot at is actually exhilarating. Nothing makes your feel more alive then getting shot at and missed. On the other hand being SHOT is a huge pain in the neck.
This makes aiming so much easier, especially when the sun is making it hard to see the reticule. You can click on or press G to switch to the ghost of your plane. Additionally you can hold CTRL when moving your plane to make slower adjustments, that makes it a lot easier to find those sweet spots rather than trying to yeet your plane around until you see the yellow bar.
Given How horrendously outnumbered the Polish airforce was and the tech gap for Polish pilots going up agianst the luftwaffe in 1939 (take a look as a PZL P.11, that thing had to go up agianst Bf109s!). It shouldn't be surprising that any Polish pilots in the battle of Britain were something special. They'd survived impossible odds at home, and then the flying junk they were given by the French (The Caudron C.714 was barely any better than what they'd had in Poland) before finally making it to the UK. I'd imagine they were also probably very glad that the RAF finally gave them some aircraft that weren't hopeless! Props to the Poles in ww2, they performed admirably in pretty much every theater they took part in.
When waiting for things to finish, turn on level flioght, otherwise they might just suicide into the sea. Also friendly fire is real so some of that crossfire looked a bit risky
T. Grabowski knew his role when his plane got shot and he swore he'd get revenge from those jerry's he just had to wait for the perfect opportunity. When time came, he got the perfect revenge, and he is a beast with that aggressive stall shot!
Got the game, first fight was against 5 Bf110s, nearly crashed two spitfires together, then nearly crashed with a bf110 but ended up with 4 kills and zero damage taken. It was really fun. It's pretty cool, only thing I noticed is that the water isn't exactly modelled, had Bf110s dive half their entire hulls into it, sometimes sideways with a wing cutting through the water 4-5m deep and seemingly nothing happened to them.
Fantastic video, the first round I see critical damage pilot, then the plane immediately nose dives I'm like YEP they dead. Fantastic Wolfpack I look forward to this series.
GRABOWSKI'S REVENGE sounds like a movie or book. This game rocks, gonna pick it up next paycheck. Thanks for the vid! If you could, show us more of the post-game fight.
Grabowski is a mole. No, really. In German: to dig - “graben” A children’s book “Der Maulwurf Grabowski” (Grabowski the mole) tells the story of him having to move from his underground home to a new place because of construction work.
I’m holding out for more aircraft. I’d need at least the Hurricane and like the Gladiator too. The Defiant would be painful but was there and there was a squadron of Whirlwinds but they never really got involved. As far as the Germans, I would want to see all the bombers modelled as well as perhaps some of the Italian aircraft.
An inverted dive isn’t a good move in a spitfire at this point in the war the Merlin is still carburettor fed and the pilots don’t yet have access to Miss Shilling’s orifice.
Been following this channel only shortly, since the Sea Power content came up, and I really really like it. This is great content. Just watch and chill, find some new games you might like as well. Lovely. And then I just realized, my dude also uploads in 4K ( not that I have a 4K monitor, but still ). That's some good work! Much love from Germany.
Letting that Jerry "escape the battle" when he was already set to bail out and was still in the combat zone was bogus. You should have gotten all four in that last fight. Salute the Poles, two of them have two kills each. And Grabowski did it with a wrecked plane.
Was a chaotic video! If you dont mind/want it, 1 tip of advice is, Remember the trails the enemies leave are only if they change nothing about their course. Think about what they might be doing, who they might be chasing, or how they might be likely to evade before finalizing that trigger pull ^.^
I was gonna hold off on buying because of early access but seeing you being sponsored by them instantly changed my mind. You deserve this sponsorship and much more
I love the juxtaposition of your videos with, say, Sea Power where you do so many fiddly things I'd never know to do and then this, where you go, "Hell yeah, headon that 110 with your .303s!"
If you press G you switch to the vision of your end move (the ghost) - it's way easier to fine tune your aim Also, if you press R the camera will align with your plane, which helps a lot too
Tip: cutting the engine to half power is usually enough to keep it running even if the radiators fail and/or the engine gets shot to hell I've been nuking spitfires (guilty pleasure of abusing B&Z against the AI lol) despite losing radiators early on in the fight--just wait till engine goes crit and then cut it down to half power, it will stay in the fight that way, no need to bail out and lose a perfectly salvageable plane
Not sure how accurate the flight models are, but IRL early war Spitfires couldn't handle negative G manouvers. Their Merlin engines unlike those of the BF109 and 110 were carburetted and negative G would cut off the fuel supply causing the engine to stall. This was fixed later on, AFTER it became a major issue with both the Spitfire and Hurricane (and anything else with a merlin) during the battle of Britain.
25:32 gotta come from behind and below the 110 so that back gunner has no shot. That head on was ruthless the 110 is not to be looked in the eyes 😂😂😂. I wonder if they will have them(110) with night fighter capabilities later on in game. 38:56 you were at half throttle SMH gotta punch it😊 1:02:28 what a wing shake that was close😮
Wolfpack, you need to hit x to change target to see your firing solution. Otherwise it thinks your still targeting the other plane you just killed. It's not automatic. You gotta manually designate each pilot's target every time.
This really is such an amazing game I would love, in the future, a setting where you can change the length of the turns, from 6 seconds down to 1 (I would never) or up to say 10 seconds
They had a lot of 303s though, like 6, 8, and in some cases 12 of them. At this point in the war they were still very effective. Late 42 and beyond you want 20mm hispanos ideally.
I would suggest that over 80 per ent of the time you should be at full throttle. I saw you kept drop you throttle at slow speed. Even at the beginning of the first game. When you have a speed and alttitude advantage. Try going over the top and then slide down when the stall coming up to you. All at full throttle
Hey wolfpack when shooting at a target you want the solid yellow line in the target circles as long as you can the dotted yellow line is where you will finish shooting
Alwyas attack a plane with a back guner low or from sides, ideally; if possible use boom and zoom and use one main pilot to attack one plane and folow up with a wing man, dont ever park your plane on the 6 oclock of a Bf110 stuka or a bomber

Like video
watching this man cut his damn throttle while about to stall is absolutely doing my head in
Yeah. Afraid of overshooting when he is slower and really wanting to stall, with a plane lacking a rudder, no less.
it can be hard to remember when making a video I'm sure

The devs should make it so that aircraft CANNOT leave the battle AFTER the pilot has already begun to bail out.
These planes flying themselves back to base on autopilot lol
I think they moved the area of engagement away form where Schmidt was bailing out.
also if they crash after they leave it should count as a kill

This game is a good take at pilots "flying with their hands" while discussing a dog fight.

The greatest name to ever grace an aircraft component, truly.
Inverting before diving was the currect approach, it's bunting into an upright dive that caused problems.
