It’s so weird, I didn’t even know these were Colombian expressions, I’ve just been speaking like that my whole life. 😅 I guess that happens when you’re raised outside of the culture.
Malena Ramirez they forgot too many slangs tbh... I guess if they include just the most common ones of our country's slang it would be a 30 min vid LMAO
Prove it! people spout such irresponsible things. Before assuming conveniently, accusing and feeling great about yourself, at least use arguments that may prove or show the high probability of what you are saying. Like asking yourself things like how many ecuadorians live in Colombia? and how many Colombians live in ecuador? how many Ecuadorian movies, radio shows, celebrities, series, telenovelas, etc are shown in colombia or watched by colombians? and how many Colombian movies, radio shows celebrities, series, telenovelas, etc. are shown in Ecuador or watched by ecuatorians?, which country is exposed to the other the most? from there you can actually infer something closer to the truth, by observing which country has the highest probability of being influenced by the other.
0:07 That's bad. Really bad. Personally, as a Colombian American, it's really insulting when people are so narrow minded they think all Hispanics look Mexican. I thought this was already covered in another video of stereotypes.
Vero Hdez you would be surprised how little outsiders know those words! Just because they are common here doesn't mean they're gonna know them. Of course we will say such a thing but only bc we're used to them.
I think Flama should make something like "Cachacos guess Costeños slang". Even in the same territory we have a lot of differences in the slang and it would be really funny.
I love that they included slangs from all the regions. Usually in this kind of videos you just found slangs from the center of the country. Good job. Saludos desde Barranquilla, Colombia.
I think "Nanay Cucas" is an expression when someone loses something in a unfairly way. When that person doesn't have another option than to accept it. For example, let's say that your friend drops a dollar and you get it. He will ask you to give it back, but you'll say "Nope, Nanay Cucas" meaning that it's yours now and he can't do something about it.
But, that's actually what "no way" could mean... "Nope, no way = Nop, nanay cucas". I agree "nanay cucas" can cover a lot of contexts but translating it as "no way" it's pretty accurate.
Colombian here, we do use foquiar, also when I was in the Colombian army we used to use that word s lot to say our commanders we want to have some break. Comandante: Y esas son las órdenes del día ¿Algo más? Soldados: ¡Foco, mi teniente! Meaning we wanted to get some rest. Foco is the noun for the verb foquiar.
As a Colombian, and spanish being my native language, I was afraid you would get it all wrong, but hey, all of the terms were accurate, I would translate "foquiarSE" instead but anyway, good job Flama, great fact checking and research!
I agree.... it's not the first time I've encountered Mexicans who want to sort of force me to see myself as Mexican just because I speak Spanish. This happened to me in Texas. A rather aggressive tex-Mex guy telling me I speak Spanish I am Mexican! (when I told him I know virtually nothing of Mexican people he was rather insulted). I don't know if it's ignorance, but MExicans in the US come across as very pushy towards making everyone Mexican.
maloff magaloff So a random girl thinks you look like a similar demographic that happens to also speak Spanish and all you can come up with is "they want to force me to see myself as Mexican" Lol how's the weather up there on that horse?
Just so you know, the girl in the video who said that, is Guatemalan. So, don't blame it on us Mexicans, that an ignorant ass lady is trying to compare our words to yours. In the Salvadoran slang video, she was also stating that Salvadorans were stealing Guatemalan slang. Clearly, she is a dumb bitch. Don't get offended by it. Heck, I know a lot of Colombians that live in Mexico, and they all cool. Around 13,000 Colombians reside in Mexico. I bet Mexicans don't live in Colombia, as much as you guys live in Mexico! As far as I am aware, we Mexicans have always been cool w/ Colombians. I have always liked Colombians, I think you guys are dope. This whole identity crisis, conflict, or whatever always happens here in the States. Just cause you met a bitchy ass Mexicans, don't assume all of us Mexicans are the same. Generalizing - always be aware of that!
You missed a lot! You should do a second part, we have too many slangs and I'd would've fun to see this people trying to guess what means things like "parce", "pachangiar", "ábrase del parche" or "sardina". We need a second part!
I'm paisa and I have never used half of those words in my life, not even "cuchibarbi" and Medellin is full of "cuchibarbis"... and I thought paisas were one of the slangiest people in Colombia (or maybe im wrong) but at least I use a lot of slang that isn't featured here..
lo peor es que como colombianos podemos usar todas esas expresiones en una sola conversación jajajajaja si lo hacemos quedarían muy MUY perdidos jajajaja

I am colombian, and I know all of these words, but I hate “NANAY CUCAS" is a irrational hate, I prefer to say “PAILA".
David Gómez same😂
David Gómez I Say: paileta yogueta 😂😂😂 miento. soy costeño y digo: 'te jodiste viejo men'

Carlos Medero it's normal, sadly, for people to think you're Mexican just because of the fact that you speak Spanish.
Carlos Medero I know! I was like about to yell WHAT THE F*CK?!
Carlos Medero probably because she is surrounded by Mexicans and when she sees a "latino looking" person she thinks may assume their Mexican as well
I thought i was the only one annoyed by that
Yeah she looks like one of those "trump latino supporters"
Tuqui tuqui lulú is another good one.
And Paila.
paila es la mejor xD

Virginia Curcio yup.
That's not a good thing.
But worst.

There are so many words you can say, like paila or pichurria. And what about some other regional expressions, like "todo monocuco guayabero"?
As a Colombian, this was the funniest thing ever. Also, loved the lady repeating "Me sacaste la piedra" over and over
