I don't remember who the country singer was but he was asked why he always sings about drinking and cheating in his songs. His answer was to show people the destructive nature of these vices and not to glorify them. Similar to a teaching lesson. When I hear these kinds of songs it encourages me to stay sober and be faithful to my wife. And not to destroy the beautiful thing I have for a one night stand.
