  • Scenic Byway 12 is located in Garfield County Utah. It is one of the most beutiful roads in the country and has been designated an All American Road. This road takes you through such places as Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. This is the promotional video we created. Some of our shots were used on NBC Today show when they highlighted the area

I did visit 12 during 2015. I watch this video to relive the things (among other videos from /u/AmericanRoads). Blessed are the people who live in this part of the world.

How is this route typically in December? Or in snow?

Depends where you’re at I’d assume. Some parts reach over 10,000 feet, that surely would be difficult, plus steep grades, twisty road, and fairly narrow roads.
That being said I’m not sure how they treat or plow roads on UT12

Great video. I know 90%of these places. Little disappointed because you did not show the most beautiful spot in Universe- Head of the Rocks.

Thank you for your great video.
Did you read about how all those rocks were formed?
Imagine that this region was like Egypt and the Sahara: 100s of millions of years ago.
Vast sand dunes, rivers flowing into oceans. Ocean levels changing and environments too!
enormous deltas becoming covered with sand dunes, which were buried beneath stream deposits.
    This happened several times.
