  • Capitol Reef National Park is one of Utah's Mighty Five National Parks. The park is the least visited of the five but it is well worth taking the time to explore. The park has many stunning natural features, like rock arches and multiple canyons. Plus, the park is full of history with the Fruita Historic District and the famous pies they sell at Gifford House. My dad and I spent one day in the park and loved getting to know a new part of Utah. Let me know what you think in the comments.

You always bring back great memories of my trips in the US.
    This area specifically is amazing.
I encourage everyone to travel, no matter how difficult it might seem.
I'm heavily disabled, but yet, with the help of my friend who clicked on the "purchase ticket" button while I was in the bathroom (yes the idea of going to the US alone scared me and I didn't have the courage to click that button!) I managed to travel solo from Italy and enjoy driving through the beautiful south west scenery.
There are pieces of my heart left between the Eastern Sierras and the White Sands National Park!

Hi Nereo Salimbene, I am sad to read you are disable, my older brother is disable he hate it. But it happens he had a stroke in 2014 year. I am 64 years of age still able to walk, see, hear drive and many other things, but I still opt to watch Videos of great scenes because it saves on gas driving.

I can't wait to watch this. As you know, I'm a Utahn and the mighty five is epic. This park is my second favorite in Utah. I call it, "The Poor Man Zion" because it has similar trails and views. If you come back, you should do the Sulphur Creek Trail. Epic 5 mile point to point that takes you past 3 waterfalls I think. Def wanna watch out for flash flooding. This park I swear gets crazy intense with that in the summer monsoon season. All the best!

That Bridge is in solid Limestone, a lot harder than sandstone and very dense, like chert. I'm surprised at how many people think it's all sandstone. Reefs are made of limestone. Area used to be underwater and a reef grew on top of the sandstone. Second bridge was partially sandstone looked to me.

Great video! Next time you're in capitol reef I'd highly recommend sulphercreek pleasent creek and if you're really adventurous oak creek it's really hard to access though but the real beauty of capitol reef in my opinion is found in the surrounding area there's really no where else like it the eastern desert in the cainville area you'll find petrified forest and crazy rock formations that look out of this world and head west and you've got boulder mountain and fish lake national forest nestled right next to the park it's actually amazing how quick the environment goes from desert to forest it's my favorite part of Utah also the burr trail is a must do for the south end of the Park

So, random comment I hope is helpful. Recently, my son who had a TH-cam Channel passed away. The channel is "Video Insights" I saw some really terrible comments and comments that were worded badly. Also, random comments that did not make sense. Then, I found out there are "bots" designed just to put mean things in comment sections. So, if you see someone making negative comments about your restaurant adventures, they may not be real at all. So, do not let it bother you. This is why Elon Musk put buying Twitter on hold until he can find out how many of the accounts are fake. I greatly enjoy your channel. It is inspiring me to follow my own travel adventures. Thank you.

More insight into your relationship/dynamic with each other would up the anty of intruigue and add a slight bit more comedic relief, since I can tell you both have interesting personalities/backgrounds (unlike many travel videographers). Overall, FANTASTIC videos my friend, as you're doing the Lord's work for us aspiring travelers!

Pops and the Cassidy Arch Trail reminds me of the system I have put in place for people whole love hiking, but are not fans of heights! LOL It is called the "Five Fucks Trail Scale". After years of hiking in Alaska, and not being able to continue in some places, I happened to sign up for a 14-day float of the Grand Canyon. Prior to the float, I spent all my time frightened of the rapids. But once we made our first stop at South Canyon and went on the hike, I realized I needed to make my fear of heights known. So, I asked our wonderful guide, Cory, "Uh. So. How many "fucks" is this hike?" "What do you mean?" "Well, I guess it's a one-to-five scale. One fuck, meaning I'm uncomfortable, but I can do it. Three fucks, meaning I'm pretty scared, but can still do it. And five fucks, meaning I have to dig into the pit of my soul, hate anyone who encourages me, and, don't push me, I will give up and any point and go back!" Another guest said, "Oh, I totally get that." By the end of the float, the guides were using the scale on their own. "So. We're coming up on Deer Creek Canyon, and the this is probably a four fucks trails for some of you." It was. But I'm glad I made it. And thus, the Five Fucks Trail Scale was born. Pops would appreciate it, I'm sure. As would many of your viewers. LOL

Thanks for doing this video, I really want to do Cassidy Arch when I visit this April. Unfortunately, since I will be driving a rental car, I will be forced to begin from the northeast, paved entrance to the Grand Wash, where you were picked up by your father I believe. I was checking AllTrails to get a preview of the length and elevation gain. While the length was pretty similar at around 8 miles round trip, the elevation gain from various gps tracks submitted by other hikers were all over the place. Ranging from around 1200 ft, to 1500ft, to above 2000+ft! I have to imagine it was the canyon walls messing with the gps readings. Could I get your opinion on how flat the grand wash portions were and how much elevation gain you probably went through this entire hike? Thanks so much!

Visited there a few years ago. When hiking i missed a warning sign about killer bees. They were right under the Hickman bridge, so i never got a good look at it as i had to run like crazy.
Did get a pie to make up for it though, so that's still a win. The area is beautiful in summer when it's all green.

Oh wow, that is crazy about the bees! Glad you got to try the pie at least!

Do you have to make reservations to visit this national park?

Call me crazy but I enjoyed this park more than Zion. And yes, I hiked to the top of Angels Landing and walked through The Narrows.

They are both amazing, it is hard to beat the Narrows in Zion though, some parts of that canyon are mind blowing.

Could you suggest a few national parks that would be great just for driving. My husband and I can walk some but definitely not a hike. We loved Yellowstone and grand tetons because we could drive for hours and see so much. With a few viewpoints here and there.

Yosemite is pretty great for driving, especially the high country with Tioga Pass. Lots of pull outs for views. The valley is hard to drive since the road is not long but the views are impressive there as well. The drive into Kings Canyon in the summer is a stunning one as well. Hope that helps!

We really enjoyed the Zion scenic highway. The day we arrived at Zion, my husband pulled a muscle in his back and could barely walk. Our planned hikes were out of the question for a day or two. We spent one whole morning driving the scenic highway and stopping at the many pull outs and overlooks. It was beautiful and is one of my favortite memories from that trip.

@@ThroughMyLens I recommend going to a either hot spring called Sol Duc or hiking trail called Lover's Lane Loop. Its a 6mile hike and I believe a backcountry trail connected to it.
