Andries, I have seen many homemade mills and come to the conclusion that if they work with some tweaking when you put them to use and cut the timber to what specs you need, then it’s a good mill and this one is obviously a winner. What I like is that you have utilised old car parts, wheels and tyres and other stuff you would expect to find around a farm. I think you will have no problems cutting those bigger logs. Well done mate, another one of your mechanical marvels.

yeah i can adjust the guide bearings a bit wider, current max width is about 55 cm, but i think i can do around 70 if i push it to its limits. the height though the height becomes a issue as the highest it will go is around 48cm... I could make it higher but that's like a total rebuild

*- I hope this helps...if I understand what you did, and what you wanted correctly: {slower blade/faster motor}.*
    *- 355mm tire drive pulley {5300 ft/min blade speed}*
    *- 70mm drive motor pulley*
*- 450mm china tire drive pulley*
    *~ ~ ~ ~ ~*
*- You put a bigger pulley on the Tire Drive. **3:30*
*- {"[it] brings my feed speed Down, quite a bit" **5:00** WRONG, it spins the blade faster - more ft/min}*
*- That makes the wheel spin faster at whatever engine speed you run.*
*- To make the blade go slower, so you can Increase the drive motor speed to elimate motor vibration, you need a Smaller tire drive pulley.*
*- {or you could have kept the Original tire drive pulley you had and put on a Smaller Drive Motor Pulley}*

Awesome build!! I’ve been wanting to build a saw mill for a long time now! I really like your design!! Have you thought of making some brush wipers on top of the wheels that ride on the frame to help brush saw dust off the wheels? Awesome video buddy really gives me some inspiration!!
