To everyone telling you not to cut bangs.. IT'S JUST HAIR! It'll grow back. My mom, well, everyone told me not to shave my head because I'll regret it. Well I did it and I actually LOVE it! Live a little. Do things that scare you or make you uncomfortable. You might just end up liking those things.

I mean she does usually regret it and not like the bangs once she does it so there's that..but I should talk because I always want my hair long and as soon as it gets long it's so much work I just wana chop it off!🤣 Currently have beautiful long hair like i wanted and dying to cut it because it's so easy and handy! Lol! Thankfully hair grows so I say she should do it too! Maybe she just needs to get a different style bangs than she has had in the past! 🥰 Also I love that you were brave enough to shave your head! I bet you rock it and I'm glad you like it! The difference is she’s a mum of 2 babies and toddler. The ideal haircut for her is something very low maintenance, and bangs are definitely not that. That’s why we’re all saying no. We’re not saying no because we think it’ll look bad

Little tip for when petting gus from what I observed here! :) He, like a lot of cats, seem to get overstimulated with full body pets. You can see his tail flicking and his body language becoming more tense as you stroke his back :) Try sticking to the cheeks(as he seemed to like that a lot!), or maybe not touching him at all when he's ready to sit or lay with you! I have three cats and they all cuddle in their own way

I grew up visiting my aunt in Santa Barbra and I love to see you bringing Flynn and the twins to those museums and parks that I used to go to. The aquarium on the boardwalk was always my favorite and I think it is awesome how your kids are getting to experience it too!!
Hearing how good Flynn is with his little sister really warms my heart. I am currently pregnant with #2 and have had a lot of anxiety about whether or not my daughter was going to enjoy having a little sister or resent her. But hearing things like this gives me hope and helps me look forward to the days where both my girls can bond like this and I can hold them both in my arms.

The lists & wishful thinking around productivity is SOOOO an ADHD thing 😂 I fall victim to these thought patterns constantly.. and while it makes me sad that I can’t get everything done, I’m still grateful that it happens because it serves as a welcomed distraction to help me settle down for sleep.. like I can rest because I have a plan. It’s also a good marker for me to know that I still have a willingness to be productive.. which can sometimes feel so far away in the moments where I’m feeling hopeless & beat down by the frustration of having the brain of an ADHD person. AAAANYWAY. Proud of you. You’re doing a great job. ❤
Yes!!! The night owl energy and wanting to get so much done the next day. Then the next day, loose all motivation and get 1 thing....maybe 2 things done.
Do the bangs! It is something that you've wanted to do again for ages and it will make you happy! When you're a mother I think doing something that's just for you like getting bangs is so important. Doesn't matter what others think and anyone who cares about you will love you with whatever hair you have x
colleen i completely agree with you about having a rational side of your brain and a delusional one. it feels like the unrealistic version of me always wins. i also feel alive at night! why sleep when i can reorganize my room? my current obsession is crochet, i have so much yarn for so many projects and i wish i could just finish them all in one day. you are not alone and i think having that self aware side means you have the capability of change.

I’ve been watching you for years, I never comment because I just enjoy watching you from behind the scenes and quite frankly you’re a stunning human being, the way you look to everyone else doesn’t matter, your heart shows through that. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being the person I can go to at the end of the night, I don’t have anyone except my roommate and her baby, my entire family has either passed or pushed me out of their lives, so you have no idea the smile and joy you and your entire family bring to me. I am praying for you all. I too have struggles and Colleen is a bright spot in my day. One of my daughters has been struggling the last several years with anorexia, OCD, depression, BDD, ADHD & anxiety. I have been her nearly sole support system. We convinced her to try a day treatment center this month and I hope it can help because her struggles make me so sad for her. Our other daughter who is still at home always homeschooled due to anxiety, ADHD & ASD. We work so hard to get her out and she has NO interest in others. She is gifted and most people have no clue but she rarely leaves the house for lack of interest. Yet people who meet me say I shine and make them smile. How is it the ones with the hardest yokes to bear are the nicest people often?
I actually love your look with bangs. I’ve always had a small forehead and bangs never worked on me. I found the right hair stylist and finally got them and I’ve never been more complimented. Everyone is so on board with bangs. 100% you should get them!
Colleen, I AM THE SAME WAY!!! I feel like I am a night owl in a whole other light. I own my own business so I'm working at home during the day but not on a strict schedule, but even then, I save everything I want to do until night. It just feels right to do everything when everyone is asleep. It's like time is frozen and I an just vibe and think and get stuff done and enjoy doing things while much of the world is sleeping 🥰🥰🥰

As a person with ADHD, I get in this pattern literally every single day where I want to accomplish a billion things and then get upset that i don't do it and it's the most frustrating thing ever. so it's really good to know i'm not alone in that. Also, if anyone had any suggestions at all about how to manage this better i'm all ears bc it's a real struggle that i don't hear many people talk about or relate to.

Omg the realistic and unrealistic sides of your brain fighting at night is the most relatable thing I've ever heard!! It sucks to be stuck in this cycle but knowing I'm not the only one feeling it makes me feel less critical of my feelings. DO THE BANGS! I can live vicariously through your bang journey. I have curly hair and don’t like bangs with my hair even though I used to LOVE wearing bangs.
This video made me cry a few times. My granny, who was the rock of this family, passed away in August of 2021. Shortly after my grandparents were married, my grandfather bought her a set of glass owls. She loved them so much, she started collecting owls. So, seeing the beautiful owls in the video made me cry. Then, you talked about, “I love you a bushel and peck.” My granny sang this to all of her grands and greats. I mentioned this when I spoke at her funeral. If you ask my son, who is special needs, to sing the ‘Granny Song’, he will sing it. My mother found a sign at Home Goods with those words on it and it’s on my tv stand. I didn’t realize how much I needed this video today. Thank you!
Girlfriend, I do that EVERYNIGHT. I make a to-do list every evening after my son goes to sleep and I never get any of it done... 😮💨 It's just the reality of a full-time working momma. We want to do all these things but life is just too busy. Just know you're not alone lol

In my opinion, it seems like Gus feels way better when he is shaved and has no more matting. That's usually why cats "warm up" to their humans after a shave. The mats are so painful and therefore makes petting them extremely painful which we interpret as grumpy or moody too. Please keep Gus and Daisy short/shaved, it really shows just how much more comfortable they are because their demeanor is totally different when short/shaved. They seem so much happier. In my opinion, their comfort should come before their looks. Don't worry about the hateful comments people make about how they look when shaved. Those haters have no idea just how painful it is to live in a whole body of matted fur.

I genuinely thought I would never want kids because of my own mental health struggles (ED, dermatillomania, depression) but you give me hope that it's still possible to be an amazing parent despite those struggles. Hahaha I was just smiling the whole last section through your vlog because I am exactly like that! I always will tell myself "You're going to do all these cool drawings tommorow get this massive build done on minecraft, get all these massive chunks of school work done and things are gonna be AMAZING!" And then I get to the next day and just sit on my phone mindlessly scrolling for like 3 hours lmao. Also I have definiutly done that thing before where I'm like "Okay here's this super cool project and thing going on in my life (or awful thing lol) but I'm not meant to tell you about it- *proceeds to tell everything about it*
I'm literally the same wen it comes to planning the next day unrealisticly... but i think doing so helps you figure what's something you really wanna do that appears on your to do list over and over again, so it sticks on your mind to the point you just do it someday! But as you said, it could end up bringing up negative feelings

And then i get so so disappointed and it really effected me so i have to really be mindful and try not to do that anymore because it was feeling really toxic for me. I am praying for you all. I too have struggles and Colleen is a bright spot in my day. One of my daughters has been struggling the last several years with anorexia, OCD, depression, BDD, ADHD & anxiety. I have been her nearly sole support system. We convinced her to try a day treatment center this month and I hope it can help because her struggles make me so sad for her. Our other daughter who is still at home always homeschooled due to anxiety, ADHD & ASD. We work so hard to get her out and she has NO interest in others. She is gifted and most people have no clue but she rarely leaves the house for lack of interest. Yet people who meet me say I shine and make them smile. How is it the ones with the hardest yokes to bear are the nicest people often?

I actually love your look with bangs. I’ve always had a small forehead and bangs never worked on me. I found the right hair stylist and finally got them and I’ve never been more complimented. Everyone is so on board with bangs. 100% you should get them!
Colleen, I AM THE SAME WAY!!! I feel like I am a night owl in a whole other light. I own my own business so I'm working at home during the day but not on a strict schedule, but even then, I save everything I want to do until night. It just feels right to do everything when everyone is asleep. It's like time is frozen and I an just vibe and think and get stuff done and enjoy doing things while much of the world is sleeping 🥰🥰🥰

Colleen, Thank you SO much for talking about this. As a person with ADHD, I get in this pattern literally every single day where I want to accomplish a billion things and then get upset that i don't do it and it's the most frustrating thing ever. so it's really good to know i'm not alone in that. Also, if anyone had any suggestions at all about how to manage this better i'm all ears bc it's a real struggle that i don't hear many people talk about or relate to.

Omg the realistic and unrealistic sides of your brain fighting at night is the most relatable thing I've ever heard!! It sucks to be stuck in this cycle but knowing I'm not the only one feeling it makes me feel less critical of my feelings. Reminding myself and you that we're both doing the absolute best we can and that's enough.❤️

This video made me cry a few times. My granny, who was the rock of this family, passed away in August of 2021. Shortly after my grandparents were married, my grandfather bought her a set of glass owls. She loved them so much, she started collecting owls. So, seeing the beautiful owls in the video made me cry. Then, you talked about, “I love you a bushel and peck.” My granny sang this to all of her grands and greats. I mentioned this when I spoke at her funeral. If you ask my son, who is special needs, to sing the ‘Granny Song’, he will sing it. My mother found a sign at Home Goods with those words on it and it’s on my tv stand. I didn’t realize how much I needed this video today. Thank you!

In my opinion, it seems like Gus feels way better when he is shaved and has no more matting. That's usually why cats "warm up" to their humans after a shave. The mats are so painful and therefore makes petting them extremely painful which we interpret as grumpy or moody too. Please keep Gus and Daisy short/shaved, it really shows just how much more comfortable they are because their demeanor is totally different when short/shaved. They seem so much happier. In my opinion, their comfort should come before their looks. Don't worry about the hateful comments people make about how they look when shaved. Those haters have no idea just how painful it is to live in a whole body of matted fur.

Colleen seriously I hope to meet you someday, you're such a beautiful genuine soul raising the most empathetic and kind children. I genuinely thought I would never want kids because of my own mental health struggles (ED, dermatillomania, depression) but you give me hope that it's still possible to be an amazing parent despite those struggles. I hope if I ever have the privilege of being a mom I'm able to parent like you do, you're so amazing even if that little imposter syndrome demon on your shoulder tells you otherwise. Hahaha I was just smiling the whole last section through your vlog because I am exactly like that! I always will tell myself "You're going to do all these cool drawings tommorow get this massive build done on minecraft, get all these massive chunks of school work done and things are gonna be AMAZING!" And then I get to the next day and just sit on my phone mindlessly scrolling for like 3 hours lmao. Also I have definiutly done that thing before where I'm like "Okay here's this super cool project and thing going on in my life (or awful thing lol) but I'm not meant to tell you about it- *proceeds to tell everything about it*
I'm literally the same wen it comes to planning the next day unrealisticly... but i think doing so helps you figure what's something you really wanna do that appears on your to do list over and over again, so it sticks on your mind to the point you just do it someday! But as you said, it could end up bringing up negative feelings

And then i get so so disappointed and it really effected me so i have to really be mindful and try not to do that anymore because it was feeling really toxic for me.
