He’s been a bad actor till a couple years ago and even he admits it. I remember watching him in fast and furious 9 which are movies notorious for being cheasy and I was like “wait he’s actually doing a good job acting”

It tricks you into thinking "woah, that shadowy figure really does look like Jason Mamoa, but it must not be him because they're all just in the shadows." Next thing you know it's really him.
i would bet that it is not them when he is walking by, it seems intentional, the silhoutte and beard also looks quite different from jason, plus the cut in the scene is abrupt, still a funny scene, and if it was intentional it was a great way to subvert expectations
They have enough green screen footage in the can of all of them to FX those shots, so it's probably their real silhouettes created from existing footage. They probably had to pay all four just for their character appearances. But they would have to pay extra for face shots, and again for speaking parts, so I would guess that Momoa and Miller were the cheapest of the four. It's possible they had M&M come in to record their single lines of dialog and just deepfaked their close ups.

Okay I'll say this about Zack Snyder's Justice League: A lot of stuff in that film either felt like a set-up for something even bigger or just a bunch of concept arts come to life because I felt the entire payoff at the end was not worth it. The Martian Manhunter meeting up with Bruce like that felt just off and weird. You can tell Zack wanted to add in the Green Lantern too but didn't because I felt he was either extremely confused or hesitant of not knowing which version of Lantern to put, but that bts shot of the supposed John Stewart Green Lantern looked decent actually. Jared Leto's Joker was f***ed beyond recognition in the crappy Suicide Squad film that Snyder's attempt to redeem the character in his movie was not successful at all. Not the fault of Jared though but WB. Sorry for the long rant. 😅 It was needed or was brought into the discussion but I felt like it was time(for me) to say my thoughts about the long aborted and (probably will be forgotten) DC universe. With all that said though, Zack Snyder was not the man for the job.
One thing I particularly like about this is that it shows that the Justice League, or at least Arthur and Barry, are actually friends and not just coworkers
I like that it shows they can actually be late. They’re practically gods, with flight, super speed, command of nature, an invisible jet and a bottomless pit of money at their disposal. How do you humanize that? By making them late and swear. Nicely done
I’d never thought I’d see the day where John Cena is throwing verbal insults at the justice league. Wow he’s come along way from his - dr of thugganomics days. Good for him, the transition from pro-wrestling to Hollywood is impressive. Between him and Dave Batista they have surpassed expectations with their work ethic as actors. I haven’t watched this series I just came for the cameos, this was a cool moment.

I'm glad the Justice League arrived at the end so it wouldn't take away Peacemaker and the group's spotlight while at the same time having this really cool cameo. It also shows that even the Justice League have flaws and always can't arrive in time. So dope to actually see Momoa and Miller there. Maybe it's because they were already in the process of filming their DC movies, they just decided to drop by with their costumes and film a short cameo.
I don't disagree about potentially showing the Justice League having flaws or arriving late but still feels so awkward there is not more in their meeting. Superman and Diana are just shadows in this scene. DC was criticized before for being edgy or dark, but here it's now okay to be dropping a couple F bombs in a row about Arthur fucking fishes? Strange. I am glad they still want the Justice League around and no longer care for the criticism but it's a weird execution.

I love how Justice League, a group of mighty super heroes, arrived late and realised that all the work was done by these people who are way below them in therms of powers. They earned a lot of respect for that. Perfect ending to a perfect season!

I think he was a terrible miscast but like you said he's shown to really love the character and bc of that I can fully get behind him playing the Flash
I also like this scene because it’s a cool perspective of how a lot of people probably feel about heroes. Overall what they do is for the greater good, but the vehicles and buildings left destroyed in their fights affect the people around them, a lot of people probably loathe the league for being too late to save loved ones or for destroying livelihoods, while the heroes only see the people celebrating their actions
Collateral damage is something that gets overlooked in ethics because very few living people have actually seen a massacre. The original superman writer was a ww2 vet trying to imagine someone with the ability to stop all the collateral damage. It's almost like when we see superheros start throwing enemies through buildings we got a litmus on how society would handle a war

Even though Goff's race was entirely doomed, it's nice to see she/he actually cared a lot about Peacemaker. Goff could have taken revenge on Peacemaker in any number of ways but chose to just live the rest of its days hanging out with him at the end. Maybe it was for the remaining liquid Peacemaker had, but Goff could have easily just stolen it.

Finally got caught up and saw this episode today! That cameo was freaking epic, and I was happy to see that Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller actually returned for it. Cena's acting journey has come a long way, and his Peacemaker character has made a fan out of me!

I've generally noticed I'm much more invested in these down to the ground characters than all those godlike high tear ones. This show coming right before flashpoint was probably a blessing. It meant James Gunn could do and and literally anything. If the execs dont like it they could easily recton it out later so might aswell give him complete free reign.
He wasn’t given full complete reign for this scene. Apparently Gunn revealed he had included Batman and Cyborg in this scene too but was denied to include them.
As someone who has been following Cena since his WWE career, I must say that he owned this character in the movie and now with season 2 confirmed with Gunn to write and direct, we are in for a treat

Fun Fact - This scene was actually shot and coordinated by Marvel Studios. The Peacemaker crew shot Chukwudi Iwuji's screen test for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and since Gunn is busy with GOTG3 Marvel stepped in to film this scene for DC as a Thank You.
Kinda reminds me of the old days when Stan Lee used to have lunch with DC execs back when he was a head at Marvel and they would brainstorm ideas to play up their kayfabe rivalry to boost sales hahaha.

I think Amanda was contemplating on whether to involve the justice league into it or not and decided on the last moment to make the call. So it might explain why they show up late but it sure wouldn't explain how Aquaman showed up with them as he is not as fast as the other 3, especially on land. May be they came on some air craft together....

I'm glad the Justice League arrived at the end so it wouldn't take away Peacemaker and the group's spotlight while at the same time having this really cool cameo. It also shows that even the Justice League have flaws and always can't arrive in time. So dope to actually see Momoa and Miller there. Maybe it's because they were already in the process of filming their DC movies, they just decided to drop by with their costumes and film a short cameo.

I don't disagree about potentially showing the Justice League having flaws or arriving late but still feels so awkward there is not more in their meeting. Superman and Diana are just shadows in this scene. DC was criticized before for being edgy or dark, but here it's now okay to be dropping a couple F bombs in a row about Arthur fucking fishes? Strange. I am glad they still want the Justice League around and no longer care for the criticism but it's a weird execution.

I also like this scene because it’s a cool perspective of how a lot of people probably feel about heroes. Overall what they do is for the greater good, but the vehicles and buildings left destroyed in their fights affect the people around them, a lot of people probably loathe the league for being too late to save loved ones or for destroying livelihoods, while the heroes only see the people celebrating their actions

Collateral damage is something that gets overlooked in ethics because very few living people have actually seen a massacre. The original superman writer was a ww2 vet trying to imagine someone with the ability to stop all the collateral damage. It's almost like when we see superheros start throwing enemies through buildings we got a litmus on how society would handle a war

It wouldn’t make sense because the Justice League is literally hundreds of members with hundreds of villains as well as outside threats against the Earth constantly. They have to face one threat at a team with whatever numbers are available

I think Amanda was contemplating on whether to involve the justice league into it or not and decided on the last moment to make the call. So it might explain why they show up late but it sure wouldn't explain how Aquaman showed up with them as he is not as fast as the other 3, especially on land. May be they came on some air craft together....

Is it just me or is there something awesome about a non super powered Peacemaker basically telling off the Justice League for not being there? It's played for the laugh but you can hear the malice in his voice for letting his team get hurt.
