Man 2 minutes into that challenge is about where I'd tap out on a good day and I'm a big fat guy. It never fails to amaze me how much that Beard guy puts away.
5:30 People add ketchup to help with it going down. Too little lubrication is often the issue with these challenges. If you eat that amount and something doesn't go down your eating pipe? You're pretty much boned. Either you start coughing, dryheaving or worse.

I've done something like this once a few years back when I played football. It was a surf and turf place and they had a challenge to eat this big pot of seafood in 25 mins and if you did it was free, otherwise it was 80 bucks. Out of the 14 years it was available I was the 11th person to do it at 22 mins and some change. It was delicious stuff and having a whole crowd of my football friends cheering me on definitely helped.
The trick to doing it was to not use the tools, smashing the claws open with your hands and peeling off the shells with your teeth and fingers is the only way to make time.

I've been watching BeardMeatsFood since a few months now, so it's funny to see it in Flat's channel that I've been subscribed to for years. :D Adam is a beast when it comes to these challenges, and I love his personality and the chitty-chatting during these challenges tbh. And yes, he almost always orders desert after (usually cheese cake), unless it was a really tough challenge, which doesn't happen too often for him.

I’d say that from what I know, people who do challenges like this will use sauce and stuff to moisten the food and ultimately make it easier to eat large amounts without needing a sip of water, that or he actually doesn’t like it as Flats suggested but typically it is a common strategy for people who do this stuff
(I am aware someone suggested it in the chat but figured I’d bring that to light for people who would try doing this successfully)
I used to watch that guy a bunch. There are only a few videos where he loses. I think he mentioned in one vid he has like a 98% win rate. Crazy good comp eater.

The soda is not to be cocky or to show off, it's to help with caloric shock. The sugar and sweetness offsets A LOT of the warm, fatty and saltiness he's taking in

When I was 15, I could have knocked that entire thing down in about 30 minutes. I wasn't a competition eater or anything like that, but I could eat a LOT of food. Between me and one of my best friends who is basically like a brother too me, we polished off 9 large pan pizza's from Pizza Hut once and I also ate 4 salads. Though I mostly drunk water till towards the end when I had some Dr. Pepper.

This is an incredibly American challenge and I love that it exists. I think the best part is that it also actually kinda looks good. I mean, it's a heart attack waiting to happen but it looks good.
