2 years later and I think still useful. Just getting into sim racing and decided to start with R3E (and maybe old asseto too cuz my machine isn't very high spec). I'm probably not going to follow any one recommendation to the letter but you've layed out some good ideas so I'm definitely going to "steal" the best parts of each suggestion and buy exactly the content I think I'll most like/want. And I think I will def leave some VRP in the pocket for newness. Thanks for the vid.

Offcourse I cannot ask the guys in that forum coz it's 4 years old. So, are there other discounts and tricks how to buy u didn't mention? my objective is to buy the Gt4 pack for now but who knows in the future.

Hi Mike, WOW!!! on 2 counts - firstly, yes the FRX-17 does sound absolutely awesome (if I said that wrong, it's because your 2 video's seem to have different spelling for the car, from what I can see). But this video was astonishing. The amount of work you must have put in to do this, is simply very impressive to say the least. I can't subscribe over this video, as I have done that already. But I gave it a like, and will watch it many times, just to take in all the info you have provided properly - keep up the great work. The only one slight bit of confusing for me in the video though, is that I bought ALL my Assetto Packs, as separate purchases, but usually on special at the time. But Steam also lists all of the "packs" of content, for RRE also, so I was surprised that you didn't mention if that was a purchasing option, unless it is simply just the same as buying with the RRE converted cash points anyway?

I buy through the RR store but I wait for the 50% off deals as a rule. I started with the Starter pak, then added the USA content...the 92DTM is amazing and a lot of fun...with the USA pal...it's worth it just for MiD Ohio alone. In the end...I probably paid more than I should...but still a hell of a deal. The new Porsche DLC is amazing though...a little disappointed with the 1 livery for the GT4 Cayman You mention sound...hell ya!...and the New GT3 Callaway doesn't disappoint...you swear you're track side when you are watching your pain in replay mode. I can't wait til Sector 3 moves to Unreal 4. We should start to see transitioned ToD and Weather. Anyway...appreciate the effort you put into your vids...lot of hard work. Cheers

So I will be buying the game, just not right now, unfortunately.....................
SingleRacer understood, life gives us other priorities. Just remember though that the base game is free. You might want to try it out and see if the handling and general feel of the game is for you. Let me know what you think of the game when you do end up getting it.

Yeah, basic pack is a nice first step after deciding you want to put down some money on the sim. A good selection of a few tracks and a dozen cars to really whet you appetite. And like you said, you don't wanna just buy a ton of stuff and find out you don't like it or rarely ever use it. Basic pack will help you decide on a direction you want to explore further. But a word of caution. You're gonna try the Formula Junior car, you're gonna fall in love with it, then you're gonna be thinking, "Where's the Formula car pack?" ;-)
Hi, SimRacing ! I have two questions to ask. If i buy seperately the track nordschleife and two cars (BMW e30 and Mercedes 190dtm) will I be able to race using them on the Nordschleife. I am considering to play more multiplayer but maybe sometimes for time-trial single player. And my second question is am I going to be able to play in a multiplayer race on the Nordschleife using the bmw e30/mercedes 190dtm if other peopla have for example another car which is paid but I don`t own (for example Audi). Overall is it a must to have all the cars from a pack to play that type of race which i want or its okay to have only the bmw 30 and the mercedes 190 and still play with other people. I want to buy the two cars and the track from the in-game store. Hoping for a quick reply because there is a sale until the 5th of July :)

I know this is 6 months ago but just in case anyone is watching later, when buying from raceroomstore it is completely separate from steam. It gives you a code that you put into the game directly.
Just bought the lot in the Black Friday deals but why can't they just have a price, have it also on Steam (30% cut probably) and not bother with this vrp lark? I got 7500vrp for £40 then bought the premium pack for 7499vrp. All the other options didn't really make any economic sense unless you REALLY only want to play one game type (but then you will still be missing tracks). The fact you buy your vrp on a different website to one launched ingame is confusing and is enough to put some people off. People want to just click and buy these days. It's a really good game but they aren't helping themselves with this model. The problem is you get about the same amount of content in Project Cars for less money now. VR performance and graphics are also better in PC2. Shame about the FFB.
i know old video. But in my opinion r3e is a bit pricey. It would be kinda okay if all tracks would be laser scanned. 60eur for a 6 year simulator without laser scanned tracks is way too much. At that price you can buy rfactor2 and ac1. R3e cars and physics are awesome but in general content is not worth that much to me. Assetto corsa alone is better pick than this not to mention huge modding community.
This might be pretty good for gt3 racing only but with upcoming acc its going to lost that aspect also, so yeah if you are that guy who buys all racing sims then fine imo but if you are getting into simulators or want to widen your sim library this is not the best tittle.

I wish there was some kind of trail for iRacing, I would like to try it, but i'm not going to buy a game, and then pay again to keep playing if i'm not 110% sure I'm going to like it. Besides the part I'm kind of put off by the fact that you have to pay to play it in the first place..

Yeah for sure. Prices have definitely changed. The 7500 category now costs between like 8500-9500. Might as well get premium at that point.

Yes, you can buy some DLC on Steam but it's much much cheaper on their in game store.
