Sydney Fireworks: 1 million spectators live, over 400 million worldwide. There is a 'kiddies' firework show at 9pm local, so the younger ones can go to bed. 8.5 tonnes (9.5 tons) of fireworks this year. 58,000 individual fireworks. Plus lighting effects. Controlled by 15 computers with 25km (15 miles) cables. Cost is over $6m Australian (over $4m USD).
its important to note that while a lot is spent on the fireworks as you started (AUD$6m) the tourist $ and boost to the economy just from this event was over AUD$250mil. (source: the guardian) i know a lot of people got pissed about the fact taxpayer money was being spent on this at a time when people are struggling - but it is definitely a worthwhile investment.
Back in the 1990s an Australian pyrotechnic company perfected technology to time fireworks bursts to local radio broadcast music. When the 2000 Sydney Olympics came along, this company was given HUGE budget, and told to bedazzle the world for the close of the Olympics. They did. And then the city of Sydney said to them, 'can you go bigger for New Year's eve?'. Did they what. Mind you, we had a taste of things to come for the new years for the new millennium. The rest of the world has been playing catch up ever since.
Heyyy I was waiting for thisss. I’ve always loved our fireworks in Sydney, but this year was surprisingly good. Definitely the best in years and was very satisfied with it. It was really really really good.
They have the fireworks choriagraphed to music so you can tune in to the radio and see the fireworks with music to the show. Its awesome , one of the best shows in the world and it doesn't cost you much👍😎
You can see that Sydney is surrounded by waterways. This means you have to drive a bit further to reach one of the bridges or tunnel crossings in the inner harbour. The Harbour Bridge is closed while they rig up the fireworks and during the show.
The music in this is not the official soundtrack that’s broadcast on TV and simulcast on radio. Due to music rights, the live streams uses a “generic” soundtrack, which is why it sounds a bit meh, hehe. Nice reaction :)
Yeah it cost a lot but it's free world wide advertising for Sydney tourism. People come from all over the world to see this. The financial input to Sydney is huge. Also.. this is NOT the music that goes with the original fireworks. You tune into the local radio stations and the soundtrack is played to synchronise with the fireworks. There is copyright on the music so the TH-cam music is different. Sadly.
The water has barges and pontoons full of fireworks that are remotely triggered and perfect.y synchronised, by Foti Fireworks Company, and repeated along each point of the Harbour.
So any given year there can be up to & including 2 million people in attendance to the Sydney Nye fireworks show, there is ZERO TRAFFIC as traffic isn't permitted in the CBD (central business district) only pedestrians & public transport 😊, most Nye shows last up to 25 mins & 2024 Nye show cost 6.7million dollars & used 8.2tonnes of fireworks ALL CONTROLLED DIGITALLY
I think they are long enough. More would just become monotonous. Problem is those who staked out their harbour spot many hours ago only get a short reward for their patience. But time moves on into a new hour, a new day, a new year.
Due to copyright laws, they've resorted to doing original soundtracks designed for the show. In previous years pre-covid, we've had a bunch of popular music curated for the fireworks. This choice may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's at least a refreshing change. The best original soundtrack was for 2022.
@@kraftpunk6654 Maybe some great Aussie music icons could licence their music as a compilation soundtrack free as a gift to Australia. The soundtrack of Oz. Could be used in multiple Oz cities on NYE.

G'day! You really need to see the climax at the end... Cheers!
Favour please react to the whole Australian show, towards the end the whole bridge was lit with fireworks🎉
THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD SHOW!!! OMG!! 😍✨🥹
I just came to say that you have a beautiful smile. The kind that brightens a room whenever you smile.😊
You should have watched the last but, they like to go out with a bang!
Heyyy I was waiting for thisss.
I’ve always loved our fireworks in Sydney, but this year was surprisingly good. Definitely the best in years and was very satisfied with it. It was really really really good.
this cost 27% of our military budget for the year
....... Australians decided to buy explosives that bring people together, not blow them apart.....

Sydney’s been the best NYE fireworks since 2000
😂
G'day again! There were 8.5 Tonnes of fireworks at $6.2 million AUD or $4.24 million USD Cheers!
Ahhh...yes. I think we have way better than London. ❤
😂
Sydney Airport flights close at 10pm each night
My Second Favorite New Years Fireworks Show!

Well whatever they played on the live TV broadcast had an awful soundtrack.
The music isn’t that bad, it’s an improvement from the previous year. The middle song and last song are decent impo.
They do it twice on New Years Eve at 9:00 for the kids and then at 12 for the adults.
I know right
The trains continue to operate over the brodge but it is closed to traffic and pedestrians
They spend $6mill which brings in $150m to the New South Wales economy. Totally worth it.

This is why we don’t have backyard fireworks… we leave it up-to the experts because our government wanted to protect our safety
You missed the golden rain
That's the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The water has barges and pontoons full of fireworks that are remotely triggered and perfect.y synchronised, by Foti Fireworks Company, and repeated along each point of the Harbour.
You missed out on the best bit - the finale
why did you cut halfway through the show ?
your looking at 6.2 million spent on the fireworks display
So any given year there can be up to & including 2 million people in attendance to the Sydney Nye fireworks show, there is ZERO TRAFFIC as traffic isn't permitted in the CBD (central business district) only pedestrians & public transport 😊, most Nye shows last up to 25 mins & 2024 Nye show cost 6.7million dollars & used 8.2tonnes of fireworks ALL CONTROLLED DIGITALLY
When are ya gonna react to London new year fireworks 2024
They used to be even better 20years ago, and would go on for about 30mins. They seem so scaled back now due to cost, in both scope and length.
I think they are long enough. More would just become monotonous.
Problem is those who staked out their harbour spot many hours ago only get a short reward for their patience.
But time moves on into a new hour, a new day, a new year.
They NEVER went for 30 minutes.

Can you do London 2024 fireworks next? Great Video :D
I think that ain't the real soundtrack, it's just a backing track for their youtube live to prevent copyrights I think
No. The soundtrack was just as awful when I watched it live from home in Sydney on NYE 2024.
It wasn’t the same in person soundtrack
@@jo902100
Well that’s good news for the crowd.
HaPPY new year from the big brown land down under. stay safe
A screen doesn't do it justice. To be there, as I have, was astounding with light, colour explosions surrounding you.
Yeah not gonna lie music was kinda weird. They usually do normal popular songs and mix them but idk what this was.
You missed out on the finale and the waterfall off the bridge. Oh well.

@@kraftpunk6654I like this soundtrack, the jazzy vibes imo fits the show well. My favourite was the 2nd song “tiny sparks”.
Sounded dated. I’m a Boomer and it felt mismatched to visual experience. Really spoiled it.
For Australia Day I hope better music taste is apparent.

You missed the best past
you didn't even see the golden rain at the end why only show half of the video , How disappointing
It's all computerised.
Pls react to London 🎉🎉🎉🎉
London is always better
