    It should go without saying, but these are products to use for cleaning your bird's cage and around the house, NOT for use on your bird!

    I absolutely LOVE F10! I haven't dealt with red poop yet... but it even gets the cockatiel poop out of the carpet quickly and easily! I used poop off before and it doesn't seem to do any better than the F10 yet. I love that a tiny bit goes a long way!

      I leave the poop off to sit for a few second, then scrub with an old rag and repeat if necessary! But yes F10 is brill!

    Great video Sophie! “Poop off” is a miracle in bottle, same with F10 although I agree about being careful which F10 you buy, I made that mistake a few months ago and had to change it back to the F10 without the pine smell.

    can I use the distilled vinegar instead of f10 for disinfecting cage?

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes white distilled vinegar is fine to use 😊

  • @ktpuss
    @ktpuss 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great stuff there, we use the same F10 & dilute the same way and every couple of mornings I spray it above the cage to let it settle to give a quick disinfect. I also had a Johnson’s ready spray specifically for bird cages from Pets at Home, I think it’s called ‘clean & safe’ which is kept as back up. For bowls and everything else I use Ecover washing up liquid as it’s chemical free and plant based and you can get a whole bottle refilled again cheaply in some small shops 🙂x

    Does the poop-off smell go away when it dries? Or does the smell remain on the sticks and toys

      I forgot that I have a second question. It's about budgerigar behaviour. (Their names are Coco and Melon). Melon often flies back and forth in the cage while screaming. He does this almost all morning/afternoon. It looks like he's trying to escape. This makes Coco feel nervous and also starts to scream. Is this normal behaviour? I've had them for 5 days now.

    What should I use to clean the bathroom? I have a bathroom right next to the bird room, and I don’t want any harmful fumes or anything getting to them. But I think bathrooms require a bit of a stronger cleaner than just vinegar. They never go inside the bathroom, so I’m not worried about them ingesting any of it.

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I usually just use F10 to clean the bathroom - if the time comes where I have to use something stronger for a different job, then I shut the door to the bird room, open the bathroom window, rinse thoroughly and use the air purifier 😊

    How many times should we give vegetables to our birds? Is once in the morning and once in the evening ideal?

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      We offer a variety of fresh vegetables, sprouted seeds grains and legumes, soaked nuts and a little fruit in the morning. In the evening we offer freeze dried and dried vegetables and a huge diverse dry mix as it can stay in overnight without going bad!

    Hey Sophie, I have a question and you may not know the answer but would you say the pink stuff brand is safe for parrots? I sometimes use all their products so thats the paste, the cream, the spray and the toilet cleaner and it says that they're natural and don't use chemicals but I'm still not sure if they're safe for birds. Please reply back if you do know, would help a lot! Also thank you for being so informative and making great videos 😁

      Hey! 😊 it’s been a long time since I used the pink stuff!
      Does it have a fragrance/odour to it? If you are going to use it then it’s probably safer just to do so In rooms without birds!

    Hi Sophie! We have carpet at home as well, we always want to wash off with one of those washing vacuum and wondering if you have opinion on any "safe for bird" disinfectant that can add to the carpet washing vacuum, for recommendation?

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BirdNerdSophie

    Hey Sophie. Another great video and so important. What could I use or if any of your followers can say to clean woodfloor? Is there anything remoetly nice I can use to give it a fresh smell lol. Also if the bathroom is not near and both bath and bird room doors are closed its ok to use normal products plus window open? Also what about kitchen surfaces? (Sorry for all the qs) 😇😇

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Raj, I use the F10 on my kitchen surfaces!
      For the bathroom, if it’s far away from the birds and you air the room out as you clean then yes! It’s not something I can say in the bulk of the video though as people will misinterpret it!
      As for wood floors, I use F10 as well!

      I have hard wood flooring all throughout my home. I use a steam mop and lightly steam. It's wood and porous too much steam will make the wood swell and harbor bacteria. So I just go lightly over it with steam mop. Then I little lemon juice and mineral oil to buff and polish. I use this method also on molding and wooden furniture pieces. Hope this helps!!!

    Thank you for the recommendations! I mostly use vinegar, water, and dish soap for all my bird cage and household cleaning.
    I was wondering if you had any recommendations or advice for dishwasher pods or dishwasher detergent? My bird’s cage is in an open floor plan area and in the same area as the dishwasher. Is using a “normal” detergent like Cascade ok? (this is not being used in my bird’s cage, I’m just wondering if the odor would cause any issues?)

    • @BirdNerdSophie
