The 8Dio Studio Vintage Organ is no exception, being a faithful representation of our very own B2 - B3 Hybrid Hammond Organ.
Having toured with some of the industries finest musicians and featured on a magnitude of headline festival stages, this work of art deserved to be archived and available for all to play.
This hybrid Hammond Organs tone and color are indicitive to the era. With a timbre so raw and pure it is simply unmatchable.
While many other attempts at capturing factory standard Hammonds in the past featured heavily on the Direct signal (D.I). We instead purposely chose to record the Organ in it’s natural state. Using vintage and immaculately maintained Leslie cabinets. In fact we used two independent Leslie’s, (and blew up a third). One to capture the genre defining rotations at all speeds, and another with a modified motor to record the pure unhindered tone of the Leslie itself.
Both of these Leslie’s are available within the 8Dio Vintage Organ. “Analog” showcases the natural acoustics of the Hammond, Leslie and its expressive spinning states. Whereas “Modelled“ highlights the static, non spinning, pure timbre of the Leslie cabinet. Instead with a virtual rotation applied. This allows you to choose the tone and workflow that best suits you.

I only got Kontakt last month, I should have bought it years ago and bought these amazing sample libraries. 8dio make GREAT stuff.

Sounds fantastic! I would love to see 8dio sample a hammered dulcimer some day, when I was a kid in the 90's I heard this christian song on the radio by a guy named Rich Mullins called sometimes by step which has a fantastic hammered dulcimer and I have loved the instrument ever since.

Trying to use this live but I can assign the tremolo Tommy midi controller, most of the other knobs can though. Is there a way to do this? If not that definitely needs to be in the update. Reaching for my laptop while playing is not work for me.
I have 8DIO's Vintage Studio Organ, i.e. B3, and love the sounds (as I do with all my other 8DIO instruments) but I can't find any way of assigning CCs to many critical controls including Leslie Choral/Tremolo and all the "white switches" such as Vibrato On/Off. This is huge--for me, anyway--as it's made the B3 pretty much unplayable. To change a control mid-song which every player does, you first have to look away to a monitor, grab a mouse, find the mouse cursor on a busy screen, get to the control you want to change, and then click it. Imagine having to do that mid-solo with probably the same (dominant) hand you need for playing as compared to quickly flicking an assigned button with your other hand on your MIDI keyboard. I pray 8DIO updates the instrument as it's barely usable to me until it is and it will be a killer afterwards.

You will need to open our libraries using the Full Version of Kontakt, but yes Kontakt will run within Mainstage.

What kind of keyboard do you use and recommend?
Midi keyboard? Depends on your budget, if you are wealthy look at the Komplete kontrol keyboard from native instruments, it's very nice and many film composers use them. If you are on a budget like me look at the M-audio keystation 88, it's very good for the price.
How can I assign a sustain pedal to the parameter of changing the rotary speed? If your product does not have this feature, it's absolute shit.
I own or have played with many of the organ Vst’s available . 8-Dio makes some really nice stuff but really dropped the ball big time on this one. Compared to the other options available this VST really lacks. Seriously what were you guys thinking when you released this ?
The VB3 is the best for the money hands down . The IK B3-x is also fantastic but twice as much money however they do discount their stuff from time to time .
8 Dio I know it’s probably difficult to offer Kontack demos , at the least you need to offer a better look at what you are offering. This demo is very misleading as it does not accurately represent what is missing.

I’m kind of in your camp. A vibrato and chorus knob that doesn’t turn or change? Offering louder cabinet on a knob, but not more or less overdrive easily on the panel. The Leslie sound is definitely better not modeled, but doesn’t compete with Logic Pro even. I loved sordino strings from 8dio, but not this so much.
