So glad to find a channel dedicated to not only wigs but toppers also..most are wigs...I just recently invested in a wig...but definitely prefer my topper...only problem is I am getting traction alopecia...2nd the fibers have started to clump together after I have it on for a few hours...a lot of videos talk about then getting frizzy but not about clumping. Some say brush wigs throughout day ..others say no..some say use silicon..some say use fabric softener..wish someone would address this issue with a synthetic wig...it is very confusing for us newbies.. especially since I don't use FB...Thanks so much
Are the fibers heat defiant/heat friendly? Clumping is super common with heat friendly styles, which is why I asked. When that happens, I hit the ends with some steam to break them up and seal them again. If it's not heat friendly, then definitely want to have a silicone spray and I don't always brush them throughout the day. There's no University of Wigs so we all do things a little bit differently based on what we experienced and found good for us - but - I wouldn't use fabric softener on a heat friendly style, for example, where I might for a regular synthetic. I might comb a straight style often, but definitely not a wavy/curly one. So, the type of fibers and style play a role and it's not one size fits all which is why there is SO Much advice out there! But ... you'll get the hang of it!
@@TheWiggyWoman Not heat friendly...I have a hot tool brush that I have used but still the fibers do not stay separated or soft...I have only had it since the end of December and was hoping for 200.00 it would last longer than this
Have you been wearing it daily? Everyone has their own “recipe” for synthetic hair care, but I SWEAR by Silicon Mix Bambu deep conditioning treatments, and simply styling spray for synthetics in addition to the usual synthetic safe shampoo/conditioner/detangler. I don’t do fabric softener because a) I don’t want a floppy cap, and b) I don’t want my hair to smell like laundry 🤣
@@TheWiggyWoman yes I have worn it almost daily..I have started to give my hair a break from the clips..I saw your video on the Bamboo conditioner and thought about trying that..can you get at Sallys'?
So I like to wear my hair parted on the side. It doesn’t have to be super far on the side but on the side still. Should I part the hair on the side? Or move the wiglet/topper to the side?
Helpful tips! 👏🏼 I’m just five weeks in on owning toppers and am still figuring out things. I’m afraid to do the plucking thing. Maybe someday. 🤷🏻♀️ Your channel has helped me - thanks! I’m curious, are you planning on growing out your hair and keeping it gray? I’d love to see you in a gray topper! They make those, right? 🙃
They definitely make gray toppers!! I do have a gray wig that I tried out to see how I liked it, and I'm just not ready for that kind of a plunge!! I don't plan on dying my hair anymore though so at some point I'll either commit to the gray, or commit to wigs.... for now though a side part is about all of the aging I'm willing to accept right now 😂 I am so glad that you subscribe and find my channel helpful!! If there's anything you ever want help with drop me a comment or DM me on Instagram! I really enjoy helping!
One thing I noticed is that your bio hair is significantly shorter than the topper hair. Sometimes the short pieces show from underneath and unfortunately don't look natural bc it looks very choppy. Another way to make a topper look more natural is to have both bio and topper hair be approximately the same length.
HI. I commented on another video of yours, thinking it was this one. I am working on customizing the Hope topper that I have had for about two years now. What is that shiny spray for your natural hair? I need shine on my old dry locks! Was it Colorwow? Please clarify so I can buy the right one.....Thanks.
There are definitely toppers that are big and full density - I have another video comparing the density of toppers. This particular one is much more of a natural density. I prefer that on a day to day basis where I like the high density toppers for glam nights and special events.
I guess it all depends on what level of look you're going for. To me, I could have left it well enough alone but - It's kind of like playing/styling hair just in a different way
I am so sorry that happened! I hadn't heard this before on this video, and it's not setup to have mid-video ads so I can't compare ... Maybe it's an issue with TH-cam? If anyone else is having this issue I'm sure they'll reply to this comment maybe with how they fixed it?
Let's chat about YOUR hair toppers! What are some ways you think your synthetic hair topper needs a little love?
Wow! Great job and tips! Thank you!
Wow! This video was so HELPFUL! Thank you!

Try the plucking thing but just go slowly.....

Great job and thanks for the tips and techniques. You're so talented and obviously experienced. ☺💜
Aww you are always so kind Gloria!!! It's all from trial and error! I've ruined a few of these in my day too 😂
Thanks so much for such great info
You are so welcome!
Did you use Wow shine? I didn’t see it in your links?
Yes! Sorry it is color wow anti humidity shine spray! I’ll get that added to the description in the next day or so!
Does the steal work on human hair toppers too?
Yes!! With human hair toppers, you could straighten box hair with a straightener vs steam ❤️

Thank you.
That topper is so thin and fine that I thought that was your real hair. I was waiting for a piece to make it look thick and luxurious.

awwww, she talks like a little girl. Was surprised to see she had gray hair. Good video.
My hair started to go gray when I was in College! I've always felt like I'm halfway between a retiree and a teenager 😂
Way too much work

Voice too low. Can’t hear, even with ear plugs. Is not my IPad cause break in adds are loud.

Yes,Barely hear you talking,I put the volume up and suddenly get too loud during the intro.
Your plucking triggers my Tricho. Can't watch.
I’m sorry to hear that ❤️💕❤️
