Hey, you're doing great so far! I'm around sub 11 and the biggest thing that helped me become sub-20 was learning how to look-ahead. Pausing in between F2L pairs can really effect your times. Whenever I started a session, I did around 10 slow solves (timed or untimed doesn't matter) where I tried to minimize pausing and looking for my next pair, and then all of the solves after that I would do whatever I want. Also drilling your PLL and OLL algs can also help. If you can learn how to recognize those cases and quickly do them, your times will drastically improve (and you are going to thank yourself later because of how easily you can do them without thinking). Hope this helps, you got a new sub.
I'm an adult and do full CFOP. It took me 6 competitions to get my first official sub-20 single and 20 competitions to my first official sub-20 average. My personal best is 9.59 and 12.13 in comp (8 year old PR I can't break). At my last competition the fastest I could solve it was 13 seconds.
I average sub 11 and its always nice to see people trying to get sub 20 as that tends to be a big cutoff A few things: - you can take many paths to become a fast cuber (to a certain point) depending on method used, alg sets used, tps or efficiency and many others reasons. This means that while you need to be pretty good at everything if you tend to be fast with 2 look OLL you can put it off for a while (i do this still and heavily recommend learning things still, its just nice to know not everything is necessary) - f2l is probably the most important step but generally you want to inspect atleast cross, have some idea and potentially use of look ahead in f2l, know atleast full pll and 2 look oll and get used to using as many f2l cases as you need - being over 20 means there is a lot to improve and while that can seem daunting it means you can improve everywhere in your solve
I’ve been on and off for about 7 years now, but when I’m in my cubing phases they’re **strong** cubing phases. My pb rn is 7.363, and my best Ao5 is 9.7. It’s always so fun to me to watch other people at different stages in their journey. Good luck on sub-20!
I’m 13 and use full CFOP I’ve been cubing for 2-3 years and average high 7 to low 8 seconds. My I got sub 20 my second competition and my current PRs are 8.48 and 6.94. From your solves the main thing id do is work on your F2L pair recognition and also make sure you can do them decently fast. I’d also learn some easy OLLs and work on some cross concepts. J perm and cubehead have nice concepts on how to Improve cross. Your solves look good and I hope you can get sub 20 soon!
You're doing great!! I average about 11-12 seconds on 3x3, and in my experience I have a few tips. Cross: watch Jperm's cross video, it was honestly a breakthrough for me on how efficient my crosses were. Look ahead: slow solves, practice, and big cubes. Algorithms: believe it or not, I still don't know full PLL and I don't think that it is absolutely necessary to. Obviously, it will help but its important to know that other aspects of the solve count more than you think
@@daphnebluesmith amazing tips, I will have to watch that jperm video again. I might get a 4x4 to help with lookahead lol it’s fun to do other puzzles sometimes.
Hey, im Zaeem, just one thing, you told us that you do your algorithms very slowly. at your speed, that actually good, but be 100% percent sure that you have the best finertricks. this will hellp develop muscle memory :)
Hi, this is so cool, enjoy it, I actually think you are on a good track, I think you probably have enough knowledge to reach your goal, I think it's just a matter of practice and patience With time you will have a way to solve each cross or f2l case fast in your own way, with your own strategies, and when you get used to those strategies you'll start to become more consistent an fast Good luck, man!

Congrats on sub 30! I now average 18 and when i can give you one advice it will be: take infinite inspection time and try to plan the entire cross - that will be very hard at the beginning but it's worth it - after some time that will led you to more efficient cross solutions and less pauses.
I hope you can get sub 20 soon! I am 12 years old, and I average about 15-20 seconds. I started cubing around a year ago. I use cfop with intermediate cross, intermediate f2l, 2-3 look oll, and full pll. Good luck with that sub 20 barrier
@mattj7245 I average also between 15 and 20 seconds - i also stated before 1 year and i am 14 :) - I almost know full oll but only 2 look pll. Would you like a race?
Keep it up gogo! Btw 6:09 it would be a good habit to start the timer by using your fingers to touch the timer sensor (instead of using palm). Your fingers almost touched the cube
If you do not want to learn full oll you dont need to but it isn't hard to learn them. you just need some time like me, it took me like 5-6 month to learn them all but you don/'t really need to because it doesn't save that much seconds
I dont know 1 look oll or pll and I only know intuitive f2l. You don't need to know any of that to get fast, just practice a bunch and you'll get there. I average 15-16 and my pb is a 10.34
